Is it true Disney movies that are currently in the theater are also played onboard the cruise ships? Thanks!
 
Yes, and even some that have been out of the theater for a little while. You can call two weeks before your cruise and they will tell you what movies are scheduled to play.

They also show some movies in 3D.
