I was looking at the Disney Monopoly game for my dgrdd but was wondering how different it is from the regular Monopoly.

I'd love to have the Disney edition. I have the Millenium and regular edition already and rarely ever play either one.:o

We have Disney and love it... It makes it so much fun for DD when the regular one doesn't hold much interest... unless you can pick up the regular one for $4.99 like I just did at Meijers... I am going to use it as DD's exchange gift at school

Mom2Em how does it compare to the reg. one? Is it the same thing only using Disney things instead of real estate? Are the rules the same? Do you still deal with money and the other cards (get out of jail cards)?

I could put it on the my wish list for my in laws

tigercat - I have both editions but rarely ever play either one. The rules are all the same, just that everything is Disney.

I have one still in the wrapper and, gave another one as a gift last year. The rules are the same, the pieces are Disney characters and, the real estate is Disney related. Pretty colors!!!

We have the Disney edition and the Disney theme park edition Monopoly games...the Disney edition has character playing pieces (Mickey, Minnie, etc.) and movies are the "property" spaces. The theme park edition has different rides and attractions as the property spaces and the playing pieces are different things from the park (like the monorail and a pirate ship). Castles replace hotels as well. (Can't remember what replaces the houses, though - sorry  ) I really like playing the Disney edition more than the original - makes things more fun!

yep, gotta have it

putting it on the wish list for dh's family (as soon as I am done w/ the disboards)

Thanks everyone. I will get it for my dgrdd now that I know the game itself is still the same. I think both dgrdd's will love the Disney version over the reg. If they really want to play the reg. one I already own it.

sorry it took me so long to get back to you... it is the same but something about playing for Disney property that interests our family:hyper:

DH, DSS, DD and I spent 4 hours Saturday evening and continued our game for 3 hours on Sunday morning. We get so wrapped up in the fun of it that time flies by. It is a wonderful game. The game pieces are beautiful and the property names are too cute! I especially love it when I can buy the Pixie Dust property. She would love it if she got it, I am sure! Wow! I had no idea there was a Disney Theme Park edition. Thanks DanceBabe16! I hope I can find that one to buy it!

No problem :) We got ours in Disney World last spring but I think you can get it through the Disney catalog now...it's a very cute game - has properties from WDW, Disneyland, Tokyo Disney, and Disneyland Paris.
