I am trying to decide between ordering a town car and the free shuttle service from the airport. My mom seems to think that the trip will be short since we are at the Contemporary. She assures me that we will be the first stop.

Has anyone had any experience with the Magical Express shuttle to the Contemporary. What should I expect? Thanx in advance!

Truth is , Contemporary might be the last stop. I stopped using the old Mears service ( pre DME ) when we were literally in that van for almost 2 hours getting to the Grand Floridian. It was my family of 4 ( 2 little ones at the time ) and the rest were what looked like single buisness travelers, EACH STAYING AT A DIFFERENT RESORT!!! I know that this must not have been the norm but believe me , we got a full tour of WDW properties that night!

The 130-140 or so for the Town Car is well worth it to us!

I vote that you save the money and take ME. I've had good experiences using it. Even if it did take 2 hours I'd rather have the money for something else.

Mouse Planet has a report that there will be no more than 4 stops per bus. We enjoyed the decor of the bus, the video on the way and especially the price.

The ME is 3-4 stops per bus and from the time you land to the time you get off the bus is on average 90 minutes but can take a little longer. This can also be affected by the time of day that your flight lands. It's busier in the morning to mid day.

The last time I used ME my flight landed at 9pm and I was in my bed by 11pm.

Also remember the time spent waiting for a bus. When we went in April we waited in the ME line to check in for about 30 minutes and then at least another 30 minutes waiting to board a bus. We decided to rent a car this trip because I have a bit of an impatience problem when I get off the plane.:littleangel: Our total time from getting off the plane to getting to our resort was two and a half hours.

We used ME last September when we stayed at the CR. We were the last of 4 stops. The bus stopped at the Poly, GF and WL first. It took about 2 hours from when our flight landed to when we were walking into our room. I felt it was pretty reasonable, especially for the price :thumbsup2

We've always made pretty good time with DME no matter what stop we were. To be honest, we love the arrival movie, and we're on such a high that we don't notice how long we've been on the bus. Now, the bus ride back...

Thanks for all of your wonderful replies. I've heard good arguments for both sides.

For me it's about time. Our flight arrives at 11:00 AM and we have 6:45 PM reservations at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot. I just want to make sure we have enough time and we are not rushed. That's the only day we are doing Epcot and I want to see some of it before the park closes or the kids tire out. I just hate rushing. I want to enjoy my kids reactions, not worry about how quick we are moving. I just go back and forth. just one of the many decisions parents have to make lol.

If you take ME, you can plan on being at your resort by about 12:30. You will likely be in Epcot by 1:30. You also will not have to worry about your checked luggage, which will save you some time.
