I'm flying to Florida on January 16th. I'll be using ME one-way to Pop (will be going from there to my sister's for a month or more).. Got my tags - yay! - now I'm just worried about everything going smoothly.. Also, I'm flying Southwest - if that matters..

What is the LONGEST time anyone has had to wait for their luggage to arrive? I'll be arriving in Orlando on a Tuesday, so I don't think there will be an overwhelming number of people arriving that day..

Generally, your bags should arrive in your room a few hours after you check in.

There is no reason to wait in your room for your luggage to arrive. Disney takes care of the inbound luggage delivery gratuity, so your bags will be delivered to your room even if you're not in it.

The last time we used Magical Express luggage delivery, we left for a long dinner with friends about three hours after we landed. We didn't have our bags yet. When we returned to the room, our bags were in it. I have no idea if our bags arrived four hours or seven hours after we landed, or somewhere in-between. It really didn't matter.

We waited zero minutes, because there was no reason to wait in our room for our luggage.

It is a very good idea to bring carry-ons with anything you'll need the first 12 hours. That's also a good idea if you don't use Magical Express, because your luggage might not be on your flight.

I agree with HH

But with that said on our last 2 trips Peak times Oct 28/31 and Dec 18/22 around 10:00 MCO arrival .We had 2 of 3 bags both times show up with-in 1 hour of checking in to a ready room.We watched them unload them while we were still on the bus at POFQ waiting to get off.

The other bag both times were in our rooms by 5 or 6 when we went back to pick up rental and go to the store so who knows when it showed up but it did.

I've used DME to POP three times now. It has been really efficient. I did pack anything I would need to either swim or go to the parks in my carryon. That way I didn't have to worry about the bags getting to me. The other issue is if the room is ready. I've had my room ready but had to wait for my bags. If you can't get into your room right away, say you have to wait several hours, your bags will be there when you are able to get in. My bags have always been in my room, waiting for me, when I have returned from the parks later that day. So...pack that carryon and you won't have to be concerned!!

Thanks for the replies.. However, I may have to change everything around at the last minute.. My adult DD was hospitalized last Friday and until they can figure out what the problem is and do something about it, I have no intentions of flying out of here on January 16th..
