Hello Everyone!!!

We got to sleep in a bit! Dogs didn't ask to go out until almost 9!!!

Steve is installing new Smoke Detectors. the neighbor had trouble with her hard wired detector and when they took it down, it said to replace by 2004. Well, we have never changed ours and when we looked it said 2003! Now well have new ones!

Steve has the "I've had my car for 2 years bug", so the auto show sent his mind twirling. He wants to go look at a 2008 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid. There's only one around here....I've even checked OH and KY......and, of course, if we can get the right deal, he'll probably get it. Honestly, I don't like the Mistubishi, I never have, so a Tahoe would be wonderful! Just a short version of my truck. I would LOVE for him to get another Avalanche, but he wouldn't even sit in it at the Auto Show....I DID though!! However, if the deal isn't there, he'll keep the Mitsubishi.

We saw one Ford that we really liked. I am NOT a Ford person at ALL! It was the Ford Flex. Almost like a pumped up station wagon. It was really a neat car.

We are going to go out with 2 other couples tomorrow! And Mexican is the first choice usually!

It's late and I am tired!!! Connor has decided to take Confirmation Classes at Church, so there's no sleeping in tomorrow!

No new truck for us....yet. Seems that yesterday, a lady backed into it! They said it just needed a paint on the bumper. We talked numbers, and they took off a few hundered for the damage....They hope to have it back instock on Tuesday. Steve talked to his partner and she is going to work one evening for him so we can go back out and talk more about it!

It is REALLY cold this morning, but the sun is shining. It must have been clear last night for it to be so cold!

Erika, how is the new room??? I hope it's everything you dreamed it would be...and more!!!

Denis, did you make it out alive? Did you clean up your share of the mess?

Our home office is becoming "The Black Hole" and it REALLY needs cleaned out. Maybe the next weekend Steve is off we can tackle that. Really, it's just a matter of sorting, tossing and storing. It's just going to be a project. We aren't ready for "Clean Sweep" to come in yet...thankfully! LOL

Going to eat dinner with friends this evening. They have decided on Steak N Shake! They have meals for just $4 right now....it's hard to pass up!! Plus, the one couple is probably a little strapped for cash right now. He's a truck driver and he usually takes off the 2 weeks around Christmas. Well, then his sister was put in Hospice House, so they waited. She passed last week. When they got home from the funeral, the water line burst in the basement. So yesterday and today they are dealing with having to replumb a line. IF he gets it done today, he'll go back on the road tomorrow, but I don't think he will. I bet it will be Weds before he goes out.

Well, I better get moving!!!

hey everyone!! wow it's been quiet here in the past few days!! everyone must be busy...

I've been looking over Dinning plans for our trip in January and I was wondering how busy they are during that time? has anyone here been, and is it really worth it to buy the dinning plan for 10 people?? And do we save money by getting the dinning plan or is it the same price if we just showed up if it's not busy?

I have never done the dining plan. We just can't eat that much food. Especially since we are all adults it's really expensive. I am going to carefully check it over though before our October trip, seeing as we do a fair amount of buffets to see if it's worth it. Not sure though, since we also do Beaches and Cream which is cheap, sometimes pizza and eating our way through the food and wine, so it still might not make sense for us.

Hello Everyone!

I am quickly heading off to bed! The boys have a 2 hour delay tomorrow though! We got about an inch of snow this evening and it slicked up the roads!

As for the dining....flat out...you have to do the math for YOUR family. We have found that what we would order for 1 TS, 1 CS and 1 Snack, we save money with the plan over paying cash. Plus it's nice to have it all paid for ahead of time. However, like Erika said, for her family, it's not worth it. I went to allears, i think it was that one, and looked at the menus. Based on those menus, I picked the places we would like to eat and picked what I thought our family would order. It's was almost always more then what the plan cost. Even when we did the DxDP in October for just 2 days, it was worth it. Not sure that I could eat that much in a week though! It was a LOT of food. We fully enjoy the regular dining plan though.

Kristin, we did watch Home Make Over!! I was so JEALOUS! and very happy for them too!!!

It's a SNOW DAY!!! Steve said this morning, at this rate, the kids will have to go to school through July 4!! We've had, I think, 4 snow days so far and we will not have school tomorrow, and maybe Weds. We are expecting 6 inches of snow through the day tomorrow. I better make sure I have my bread and milk! LOL In all seriousness, we might get ice tomorrow too, so that means we won't be going anywhere. Now, we just wait and see!

Kristin, thanks for that code! I have time today, so I'll mess around with it! My first thought was to use our Cruise Photos!

I don't know about January, but in October you can not just show up and eat. The sit downs do get full and you do need ADR's. It's tough to make all those, it's hard to know where you're gonna be on which day, but you kinda gotta take your best guess LOL.

Erika, how is the new family room? Did everything arrive and get installed okay? I am so happy for you all!!!

The room is wonderful, but all did not go as planned. The Direct TV guy showed up on Saturday to install our new dish, and said their current equipment won't work with our setup. He said they have new equipment coming in a few weeks (his estimate) and that will work. So, we now have no HD on our new TV, which sucks. We had to put one of our cable boxes down there, but half our cable channels are analog, and are totally unwatchable on the big screen TV. So, that really pissed me off and screwed things up. We can watch some channels and movies, just not everything.

I must say though, Blu Ray is the most amazing thing I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!! We watched Iron Man and it was unbelievable!

Erika, maybe waiting for the new dish will pay off in the long run though! I have to agree, Blue Ray is awesome!!! We have watched several on the PS3 and the picture is just incredible!

Have 2 soup recipes to try this week! One is Tortellini soup and one is Baked Potato Soup!! I just need to buy about 4 ingredients and I'll have everything to make both.

Candy, I'd like the recipe for the Taco Soup!

I guess I'll get my shower and my breakfast! By then the roads should be clear. Steve called on his way to work and said the roads aren't bad, but he did pass a plow with his blade down and dropping salt. And that was within his one mile commute!

Hey Michele,

The Taco Soup recipe is really easy

1 pound ground beef or turkey
1 packet Fiesta Ranch Dip mix
Do not drain any of the following
1 can corn
1can kidney beans (or whatever beans you prefer)
1 can stewed tomatoes (I also add a can of Rotel Tomatoes)

Brown ground beef.
in a pot add the corn beans and tomatoes, add browned beef and fiesta dip mix, add a can or so of water (depending on how much liquid you want). Bring to boil and simmer for about 10 minutes.
Serve with tortilla chips and shredded cheese
