Steve is on the phone with his Mom. I'll ask him when he gets off, but I would venture to guess, that if you are taking 3 times the prescribed amount, as directed by your Dr, you are maxing out on the amount you can safely take. Honestly, I don't know how you are still walking!

I think I am going to have to call my Dr tomorrow. I just can't kick this cough! Otherwise, I feel fine!

I took 2 teaspoons at 7 and just took one more a bit ago.. I am coughing soo bad it is honestly annoying. But you have the cough too so I do not have to tell you that...The dr. told me to take two teaspoons at a time... Why, it is not working I do not know. I was coughing so bad at the clinic he asked if I drove myself? I told him yes, he said if someone else had driven me he was going to give me codeine right there. With my chronic collapased lungs the coughing it just making my lung more suspetable to collapasing....That is why I am soo concerned. He also told me to take the mucinex the kind you have to get behind the counter @ the pharmacy!!!! Plus, the anitbotic. Bruce can not take even one teaspoon of codeine is out for the count...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, from my pharmacist....and he's not your Dr, so you might want to call him tomorrow, BUT.....you could take 3 teaspoonsful, that would be the same amount of codiene you would get in a pain pill...30mgs of codiene. Each teaspoon of your cough med is 10mg. He also said that the cough meds last about 6 hours. All that said, if it's not touching the cough, maybe you should see him again, especially with your lungs!!
