Where in Germany was he born? I am originally from Frankfurt/ Main.

Corinna

He was born in Augsburg but his family lives in Stuttgart, near Karlsruhe, and in Koln.

I'm looking forward to it, but I feel completely not ready. I hadn't counted on the FE adding a layer of "things I need to get done before the cruise" stress. With an insanely active toddler in the house, really the only time I have to work on things is while she is in her Montessori school for a couple of hours in the morning, or during her nap. (And that is also the only time I have to do things like exercise or take a bath...) I'm not sorry I signed us up for the FE, but I'm afraid I won't have time to makes the gifts I had originally planned to.

I'm also trying to figure out how to deal with our son. He was really excited about the cruise until this weekend, when he figured out it meant we aren't going to WDW this year. He can't imagine that the cruise could possibly be as much fun as WDW, and he hadn't put together that we were doing this instead. (He has cruised several times before, although not on DCL, and he enjoys cruising. WDW is just his favorite place on earth.) I really think he'll love the cruise once we're doing it, but he was genuinely upset this weekend.

Hello everyone! I don't know why it has taken me so long but I finally came on to DIS. I am a member of another DIsney site and spend many hours there. We are booked on this cruise. We includes me (Mary), DH Keith, DD Katrina, DGD (age 20 mos), my DM and my DF. This our first DCL but we have cruised before. We have also been to each of these ports before. With DGD being so young, we are not planning on any excursions. We may get off the ship and walk around some or maybe not. I am just looking forward to a wonderful week onboard. My parents booked recently and will not get their cabin number until about a week before sailing. We have a veranda cabin that the rest of us are sharing

Hello everyone! We are sailing out of galveston on Nov. 10th. 18 more days. We are so excited. I will be traveling with my husband, our 4 kids, my parents, aunt, uncle, and cousin. Hope to meet some of you on the ship!!:wave2:

What is everyone doing at the ports? I have booked the regatta in Cozumel. I want to do an all-inclusive beach in Costa Maya & stingray city in caymans. Anyone doing anything similar?Would love to hear others ideas.

I should probably start packing ..... what is something I shouldn't forget? I have our over-the-door shoe bag.

I know how you feel. I have no kids to throw a spanner in the works, but work is doing a great job doing just this. Please don't stress about the Fish Extender exchange. This is meant to be a bit of fun. I am sure that whatever you decided on, the people participating will love.

As to your son, I would be seriously surprised if he would not love every second of his first Disney cruise once he is on the ship.

Welcome on board.

What is everyone doing at the ports? I have booked the regatta in Cozumel. I want to do an all-inclusive beach in Costa Maya & stingray city in caymans. Anyone doing anything similar?Would love to hear others ideas.

Grand Cayman is still a bit mystery. We had booked an independent excursion to the Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Park, but got an email over the weekend to say that this won't be offered on the day we are there. So we are back to the planning stages. We had another look at the DCL excursions, but nothing really inspires us. We may book something on board or we may just go with the flow and maybe hire a car when we get there.

In Costa Maya, we booked the Adult Only Departure to the Chaccoben Mayan Ruins through DCL.

At Cozumel, we are getting a taxi to Chankanaab. I booked the Manatee Encounter and Graham will just enjoy swimming and snorkeling. I will join him once I finished with the Manatee Encounter.

Is it just me? Maybe because this is my first big family vacation and first cruise or maybe it's because I've never done anything Disney and its a life long dream or maybe because it's a surprise for my daughter and I can't wait for her reaction and experience but I am so emotional. I see Mickey Mouse or hear a commercial about Disney or I think about how Jenny is going to react...and how I'm going to let her know and what it will be like seeing the Magic as we cross the bridge........ I am sooooooo excited I get weepy eyed and my throat swells. I simply can not wait!!!! BTW I will be the blubbering mom that is uber excited about everything. Don't judge. LOL (Am I crazy)?

Ok, trying to post this for our Roll Call. (Now I'm asking for it! I'll have to update it everytime we get someone new! Just created more work for myself didn't I?)

If you have any updates or modifications, just let me know and I'll make the appropriate changes.

Is it to late to add us to the FE list?

Ahhh, what you're really saying, or admitting, is that you are One of Us! :rotfl:

We are going to seven mile beach in Grand Cayman, not sure about Costa Maya yet, and going to do the dune buggies in Cozumel. Anyone else doing these? What are you all doing in Costa Maya?

You are NOT crazy, (or if you are, then I am, too!) I am so very super excited ab out seeing Auri's face... she can't imagine a boat being bigger than her school, so this will be amazing for her! And I am going to soak up every minute of her pure joy! And this is our first big family vacation, and first Disney experience, too! I know we are ALL going to have a blast, and I cannot wait! See you on board!
