Disney Magic Don't Fail Me Now! 3/10!! New Update!!! Day 6!!!

Oh dear... I am getting a much better idea of why you need a Dec do-over. Oy!!

Sorry you missed the Epcot resort decorations... but you can check them out this year!

Isn't WL just gorgeous at Christmas??

Glad you all had fun at Hoop dee doo. :)

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh Melissa - that was too funny. I can't believe how many times his skirt fell off. Just when he gets it right, his halo falls off. Holy crap! I would have been falling out of my chair laughing.

I haven't seen that show in forever, but your pictures reminded me of how fun it is. What a great memory. I guess it was worth the 45 min wait for the whole family to see that. That was great!

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: It was hysterical!!!! And FIL ate it up!!! I'm so glad he didn't loss his pants!!!

I'm really glad SIL got to see the show! It would have stunk if she missed that!

The was beyond hilarious!I burst out laughing!! We have never seen the show and now I want to so badly!!! Hmmm, have to talk to my sis and see if we can work it in for August!

:lmao::rotfl2: It really was beyond hilarious!!! It's one of our top Disney memories of all time!!! You should definitely see the show!!

I can't wait for a do over!!!!

I'll definitely be checking out the epcot resort decorations! I'll hopefully also be checking out an Epcot resort! Fingers crossed for Boardwalk!!!!

The WL christmas decorations really are absolutely breathtaking!!! We would stay there in Dec instead of Boardwalk but DH is completely in love with Boardwalk now! :lmao:

Hoop De Doo was fabulous!!!

No comment about the first update (except those are some good Spaceship Earth pictures.) But about the 2nd update I love that your FIL was picked and he was so great! That will be a great memory and hopefully eventually that will be the only memory you have of the trip:goodvibes

What a hoot!! I really enjoyed reading all about the Hoop Dee Doo and your FIL had such a great time!! That is awesome!!! Great memories that is what Disney is all about!!!!

WL is gorgeous at Christmas time! I so need to get over there LOL!!

Can't believe I've missed two of your updates! Anyway am all caught up and ready to comment. Love the pictures you took of SSE even if it was to annoy the person in the car in front of you!

:sad2: on there not being any strawberry shortcakes out for breakfast - hope they have some when we go as am looking forward to tasting one popcorn::

I was just reading along thinking how your Epcot day was coming along with no major hiccups and then the drama unfolds! All I'm going to say is that it is a shame that your plans of going to see Christmas decorations got messed with. Love your DS's hat photo - it's hilarious!!

What a great evening! Am glad you managed to enjoy the meal and the pics and video of your FIL made me laugh out loud - that skirt was sure doing it's own thing!!

WL does look great with all the decorations. Looking forward to reading more :)

So happy you had a good time at HDDR. How great that your FIL was picked, those pictures were too cute.

I am loving your WL pictures. I want to stay there when the Christmas decorations are up, but Bill wants to stay at the Polynesian.

I can't wait to read more!

Wow, what a trip! I feel sorry for your in laws, it seems like they are missing out on everything. I'm glad you at least had one happy night.

I missed the shortcake!!! I really did! :lmao: Being in WDW is a good excuse to eat cake for breakfast ;) That would have really hit the spot!

I can't wait for our re-do trip to actually see the decorations and do all the holiday stuff!

We had a wonderful night at Hoop De Doo!!! It's definitely something we'll never forget!!!

HDDR was GREAT!!! WL is soooo beautiful during the holidays! But, I'm also huge fan of Poly!!! If I had to choice it would be a tossup!

Wow, what a trip! I feel sorry for your in laws, it seems like they are missing out on everything. I'm glad you at least had one happy night.

Yeah, they missed a lot!!! I really feel bad that they really didn't get to do much!

Day 5!

Day 5 was an early morning! We were headed to a Breakfast ADR and Tusker House! Our ADR was actually for 8:05 am! I’m not sure what possessed me to make an ADR that early!! But we really had not problems at all getting up, ready and out! I guess a pretty early night the night before helped!

So we were up and out to the bus stop shortly after 7:30! We waited a little while for a bus and when it arrived another family with 2 little ones also got on! They were also headed to Tusker House!

We had barely pulled out of the bus depot when we knew there was a problem!

The bus was making a horrendous noise and shacking violently! It was actually a little scary!

We didn’t even pull out of Kidani and the bus stalled! Oh no! The driver kind of glided the bus to a stop and restarted it! We drove a little bit further and made it out of Kidani and it stalled again! Really?! This can’t be good! But the driver started it up again and off we went!

A little further down the road and another stall! This time it wouldn’t start again! There was a whole stream of bad words going through my mind!! Us your imagination!

In all my trips to WDW we had never been on a bus that broke down! I wonder how often that happens, I figure not very! But we wondered what was going to happen! We pictured walking in the cold to Jambo House, I pictured missing our ADR! Ugh!

We also saw SIL and BIL drive by us!!! Great!! Just great!!

But, Disney, being Disney, handled it fantastically and quickly! Within about 2 minutes of the driver calling in that we had broken down a road crew arrived to set up cones and flashing lights and an official looking CM boarded the bus, apologized profusely and promised that another bus was on it’s way to get us! Less them 5 minutes after that the new bus arrived and we were on our way!!

Woo hoo!

We got to the ADR turnstile at 8:05! We were going to be late but I really wasn’t going to stress about it! It was beyond our control!

We got to Tusker House quickly and met Donald! Alexis was really digging the characters too much! But my kiddos always enjoy meeting Donald!

Our Tusker House breakfast was super yummy and meeting all of our favorite Disney characters was wonderful!

Like I said, Alexis wasn’t too into the characters! She was usually ok unless they reached for her or tried to touch her! Poor baby!

(not sure what happened to the pics of my kiddos with Mickey!)

(not sure what happened to the Daisy pics either!)

After breakfast we headed out! DS8 and I really wanted to ride EE so we decided to head that way and try to get FP!

But first we stopped to play the drums

and then meet Pluto,

And meet King Louie and Baloo! (I love the Jungle Book!)

And look at a fabulous pair of ears at a kiosk! We actually came home with those last week!

When we finally got to EE we couldn’t get FP! Because it was down!!! Just like in January!!! Booo!!! Our second attempt at riding EE had failed!

But DS was happy to head to the “Dinosaur Playground!” DH took the kiddos in while MIL, SIL and I headed to the ladies room and the shop near it! I didn’t buy anything but I know MIL did, not sure what though!!!

When the kids were done playing we decided to head over the next Nemo show! SIL and BIL said they weren’t going to go because they didn’t think Alexis would sit still for it! I offered to take her and walk around so they could see the show because I have seen it several times and I thought SIL would like it. But, they said no. Their loss! But they did take everyone’s tickets to go over to the safari and get FP!

On the way over to Nemo MIL asked me to take this picture! FIL carrying her purse! LOL!!

Pics of Nemo...

When we were done at the show DH called SIL and we had a little bit of time before our FP came due so we decided to head over and do the Pangani trail! I didn’t take any pictures! Sorry!!!

We left the trail just in time for a quick bio break before our safari!!!

The Safari was great as usual!! Even though it was cold!!

After the Safari SIL, BIL and Alexis headed out (I think this was the most time they spent in a park the whole trip) and we headed to Maharajah Jungle Trek in search of Tigers for DS3!!!

continued next post...

DS3 LOVES tigers and was sooo excited to see them!!! He was completely in awe and soooo cute! He narrated everything for us! “Look! The Tiger is walking!” “Look! The tiger is in the water!” etc!!!

Again, I didn’t take too many pics! They only ones I took were of the tigers!

After the tigers we decided to head out too! I can’t remember exactly why we left so early! Especially because we had wanted to see the Jingle Jungle Parade!!! Hmmm…

I did stop to take a picture of the DAK Christmas Tree on the way out though!

When we got back to Kidani, thankfully on a bus that didn’t break down, the boys hung out and played, MIL ended up with Alexis again and DD and I decided to take a little tour of Kidani!

Once back at the room we rested and DD did some more homework until it was time to head over to Jambo House for dinner at Boma!

Boma is fabulous!!! I love it!! DH is not an adventurous eater by any stretch of the imagination so it isn’t really his cup of tea! But I love being able to try so many new and fabulous things! I also love that the kiddos can try thing that they wouldn’t normally have! I really can’t wait to try Jiko in May though!!! Woo hoo!!!

After our fabulous dinner and some fabulous South African wine we headed back to Kidani for another early night!! More movies, popcorn and a soak in the Jacuzzi tub with a little more fabulous wine made the night complete!

We were soon snug as bugs in rugs with visions of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party dancing in our heads!!!

A day without incident! Woo hooo! Double Woo hoo!!! But would it last through the next day …

Man, I would have panicked if that happened with the bus that took us to our breakfast! I'm so glad that Disney came through and got you guys there in time.

I'm IN!! Just caught up! Great TR!! We are going to HDDR for the first time our next trip! I'm excited to try something new! Question - did you use your TS credits for it? I am...so can only get category 2 seating :(. Where were your seats? What show did you go to with little ones?

Also....LOVE your DD pink WDW sweatshirt!!:lovestruc

What a great day at AK! I'm glad you had at least one incident free day! I'm betting the next day wasn't as smooth.

Hurrah for a day without incident! I agree with your younger son and just adore the tigers. I think I've only seen them napping, though. Maybe they'll be up and around in May!

Glad Disney handled the bus breakdown so well... that could have put quite a wrinkle in your plans.

Wow that bus journey sounds scary :scared1: Am glad you managed to get to AK safely. Love the pictures of Tusker House and the kiosk ears!

Sounds like you had a great day and :woohoo: on there being no incidents.

I thoroughly enjoyed that update!:cool1: In all our trips, we've only been on a bus that broke down once and that was when we went in 2005. We were on our way at the end of a long day to Pop Century and the bus was doing exactly what you said your's was doing. They couldn't have been better about it...it was cold and another bus was there within minutes. You gotta love Disney Magic:lovestruc

Love the kiosk ears...they are beyond adorable...and her hoodie is super cute too!

We are trying Tusker House for breakfast for the first time this August and I'm so excited!! I have heard nothing but wonderful things about it...and don't even get me started on Boma ... :cloud9: my favorite restaurant on property.....:yay:

I'm glad you had a good AK day after the bus adventure. I will be checking out your new report soon.

I decided I wasn't going to panic! Honestly, I'm known to freak a little when my plans goes array! But, I knew this situation wad completely out of my control! I'm glad everything worked out!

:welcome: Thanks!

We didn't use TS credits! We had the Candlelight Processional Package and Hoop De Doo which (I think) are both 2 credits each. I didn't think it was cost effective! Plus, I didn't want to have to explain DDP to the rest of the family! We've been several times and I really don't think there is a bad seat in the house! This time was the first time we went to the 7:15 show. Usually we go to the 5! It wasn't too bad, I think we got out around 8:30 - 8:45. Not to late but I would have liked earlier! The 5 was booked when I made the ADR!

You'll love the show!! It's one of our favorites!!

What a great day at AK! I'm glad you had at least one incident free day! I'm betting the next day wasn't as smooth.

It was a good day!!! Irritation free!!!

You're a smart women! Think your bet maybe right on the money ;)

It really was a good day!

I can't believe you've only seen the tigers napping!!! Boo!! Last month the one tiger was actually making all sorts of noises!!! Roaring and grutting! It was really cool!

They really handled the breakdown fantastically!!! I was amazed how seemingly prepared and choreographed it was!!

Wow that bus journey sounds scary :scared1: Am glad you managed to get to AK safely. Love the pictures of Tusker House and the kiosk ears!

Oh my!! I'd be interested to know how often a bus breaks down! They really seem on top of maintenance and such. But, it's bound to happen!

Aren't those ears cute!? I love them!!! The Hoodie is super warm and fleecy inside! She needed it!!! You can see her little nose is a little swollen from a cold starting!!!

You will LOVE Tusker House! It's got to be one of the best breakfast on property!!! YUMMY!!!

Boma, how I love thee!!! I really can't wait for Jiko in May though!!!

I'm glad you had a good AK day after the bus adventure. I will be checking out your new report soon.

It was a great day after the broken down bus!!! I'll look forward to you joining in on the TR!!!

Day 6!

Being that it was our MVMCP day we decided to make this a rest day! I would have like for it to be rest at the pool but it was cold!! Like 50 – 55 degrees during the day! Not pool weather!

I’m an early riser and no matter how hard I try I can’t sleep past 8 am, ever! Usually I can’t sleep past 6!

So I hatched a plan to sneak out alone to DTD for some shopping! DH was perfectly ok with it!

When I woke up around 6:30 I got myself ready, puttered around little straightening up room, having some coffee and getting the kids stuff ready for the day!

At some point the rest of the family woke up and DH got himself up and ready while the kiddos watched cartoons!

I was off to DTD around 8:20 via taxi! Once I got to DTD I decided to get myself some breakfast!!! My very first trip to Earl of Sandwich and all I got was a blueberry muffin and a cup of coffee! It was an outstanding muffin and super good coffee but I always figured my first trip to EOS would be for some wonderful fabulous sandwich! Oh well!

I didn’t take any pics in DTD because I left the camera back in the room!

I hit Basin for a few things for me, Days of Christmas, World of Disney, Once Upon a Toy and Lego for Christmas gifts for the kids, Goofy’s Candy Store for treats for the kiddos and browsed a few other stores! I had a lot of stuff shipped home because I knew the second I hit the room the kids would be in the bags looking for what I got them! Especially that bright yellow bag from Lego! The shopping trip was hugely successful!! I got a lot of Christmas shopping done!

I grabbed a taxi back to Kidani where I found the rest of the family, including MIL, FIL, SIL and Alexis (not BIL) in the arcade having a blast! We’ve never actually gone to the arcade at any of the resorts we’ve stayed at! But I think it will be stop from now on! Apparently they had gone over to Jambo house for a late breakfast and come back to the arcade! At that point it was around noon and DH said they had been in there well over and hour! I joined in a few games of air hockey and ski ball and then headed back to the room with Ryan.

Soon the rest of the family arrived back at the room and DD and got ready to head out!

We had important business to attend to before MVMCP!!

Her appointment at Bippidi Boppidi Boutique!

We left for MK around 1 pm for her 2pm appointment! When we got to MK it was around 1:30 and we were a little hungry so we decided to stop for a snack! DD wanted popcorn so we got some and a soda to share while we sat in front of the castle admiring the beautiful view!!!

Then it was time to check in for DD’s princess makeover!

It was crazy busy and crowded in BBB and we ended up waiting probably 20 minutes. Not long considering the amount of people there!

DD had the very best Fairy Godmother In-Training ever!!! She was fabulous! Actually she seems to be in all the literature, videos and online things about BBB!

She did a great job with DD, who tends to be nervous!

During DD’s session one of the photopass photographers started joking with me that I should get my hair done! I told him that I was much to old and my hair was much to short! One on of the other Fairy Godmothers In-Training told me I would be surprised what they can do and the age range of “girls” who come in! I told her I had actually seen a mother about my age having her hair done on one of DD’s other trips to BBB. So, she decided if I wasn’t going to get my hair done I should at least be pixie dusted! LOL! I was very sparkly!!!

DD LOVED her new look!! She really got a kick out of it and was super excited when it was finally time to turn the chair around and see it!

Just DD was finishing I got a text from DH that the rest of the family was headed into the park! So DD and I headed to the front of the park to meet them! But we got held up by this…

After the parade was over we met the rest of the family, who were right across the street on the steps of city hall!
