These boards were extremely helpful in preparing for our first post-Covid cruise that I wanted to pass along information about our first day sailing out of Miami.
My husband and I sailing on our 6th Disney cruise and have sailed on other cruise lines. We left our 4 kids with the grandparents to use cruise credits from 2 years ago (we are taking the kids this summer :))

We have about 1500 people onboard out of 2000 capacity.
My husband and I are triple vaxxed, took a PCR 12 days out (negative), and a rapid antigen before flying this morning.

the process was very smooth!

Here is our experience from day 1:

-Disney will not let you in the building until your assigned arrival time. They call the times every 15 min. We arrived at 10:45 for 11:15 and waited outside in lifor our time to be called.
-The groups at each time are so small we were through security and to testing by 11:20.
-the testing took 5 min. We administered ourselves and then a person was walking around with a mini cooler collecting specimens as soon as they were taken. The person said the wait would be 90 min.
-we went upstairs to wait for our results. It took 35 min to get our negative result. The safe passage website was updated before we got the email. Other people before us said it took them 30 min.
-we proceeded to check in (took pic of passport and QR code) and walked onto the ship around 12 pm. They scanned your QR code bc your cruise card was at your room. They called your name like before and Mickey was there, but no up close pics.
-cabanas was open and not crowded (yet). Excellent service. Food same as before.
-they said rooms would be ready by 3. Our luggage was there and room was ready by 1:45.

Overall I would say the process of getting onboard as almost quicker than pre-Covid. Everybody was friendly along the way. Ship and staff just as great as before.

hope this helps with planning!

THANK YOU!!! This is super helpful!! Going on Magic 4/25!!

I'll be on the same cruise! Fingers crossed for a cabana :) I'm surprised at the passenger count actually- unless it is spring break for some.

What are they saying the passenger count is right now? When we booked, I thought it was less than 50%.

It was 1500 out of 2000 so 75%. It actually seemed so much LESS crowded than that. We never had to wait in lines, always spaced out, etc.

I would say this was our best Disney cruise yet. We have been on Fantasy (7 days), Wonder, and Magic. The food, staff, and entertainment were just as good as before. They changed some of the shows (Dream) to make them even better. We had an amazing time!

Actually the Magic/Wonder ships hold 2700 people, not 2000. So you're at 56% capacity.

Glad you're having a great cruise!

Thank you for sharing!! Our January Magic cruise only had 650 guests. We are going again on the Magic on April 7 and very curious as to how many guests there will be. I do not mind at all there being more guests than January (felt like a ghost town) but our FB group has very few members (almost half of our Jan cruise) so wondering since it is the week before Easter.

Yes—it is spring break for a lot of schools where I live in the midwest.

They can increase passenger count at any time - you lock in rates, not passenger count when you book.

Correct! I was clarifying that at the time I booked the ship was only 50% booked. It seems a lot more people may have decided to pick the 4/25 sailing.
