Disney Magic 12/13/2015

We are a family of 8. Myself, husband, 5 kids and my mother. This will be our 8th Disney cruise. Five on the Magic, one on the Wonder and one on the Dream. We kinda like the Magic!

Yes you do!::yes::

I am in rehab for my double knee replacement. I haven't been on the boards that much. Things are going well, but it will take time before I am walking on my own. I leave in house rehab next week.

I hope you have an uneventful, speedy recovery. My DH had double knee replacement a few years ago. He did great.

Hi there! Just booked our 10-year anniversary cruise for this date! Interested in some sort of exchange! Thanks!
Just booked this for our 10 year anniversary too! Congratulations! We did an exchange on our first cruise and it was so much fun. Am looking forward to doing something again!

I am just curious, am I the only one on here who booked this cruise specifically for the Prem"ear" of the new Star Wars movie on the last night?
Do you think we'll get to see it on the 17th? That would be AH-MAZ-ING!

I will organize a Candy Exchange if there is interest. We use Fish Extenders to give out local candies or treats. This past trip, a participant gave out Cheese Straws from Mississippi!::yes:: We give out a brief history of the treats. It's fun and I keep the group's between 8-12, so not a huge commitment. I hope there is interest!

I'd love to participate in a Candy Exchange - what a neat idea! I think I have a few more posts to make so I can start a conversation with you, but we just booked, so I don't even have my room number yet. Will work on posting and then will start a conversation when our cabin number is sent. So looking forward to this cruise!

I think you will have more luck reserving a room closer to the cruise or even on the cruise. I tried doing it before our WBPC cruise and in the end I worked it out with Guest Relations on board. Before the cruise they mainly seemed interested in money making events.

I really am excited about the ornament exchange, it sounds like fun!

Bobbi:)

I can't find the original post about an ornament exchange, but I think it's a fabulous idea. I'd love to participate!

hi all. I am on this sailing too. i love Christmas time on the ship. There are 35 other staterooms joining our group. There is an FE exchange, ornament exchange, and ladies mixology. We all chat daily. I am sure u know where. I hope to see you all real soon. I can add ya to the FE list. Can't wait to see what everyone gives out. Love my creative fellow Disney cruisers. Feel free to email me (micanddel0628@yahoo.com)for a copy of the list. Not sure if it is wrong to give email out. It is just easier to keeping adding everyone on my phone and then forward it. TTFN.

Ladies' Mixology?! Yes, please!!

I'm glad to hear you're a fan of the Magic. We were on the Dream for our first cruise and loved it so much. I hope we like the Magic just as much. I've read the adults only area may even be a bit nicer. That would be awesome as we have no kids... just the two of us.

There is plenty of time, and I will keep updating here. If you are interested in a local candy exchange, just post!

This is our 2nd Disney Cruise. We did the Magic last summer of 2014. This is going to be my DD 8th birthday celebration (12/14- good thing schedule is "at sea"). I just read about Fish extender on one of the trip report. I'd like to participate if possible :tinker:

Welcome!!! My dd will have just turned 9. I'm sure I will see you in the clubs :)

Hello! Just joined this site and not even sure if I'm posting correctly but here goes! I've been to WDW 25 times but this is my family's first Disney cruise and first cruise EVER! We are all so excited! And I'm enjoying getting to learn about a whole new Disney experience. There's four in our group: myself, my husband and daughters who will be 6 and 21 at cruise time. I am interested in the candy exchange and learning all about what to expect on a Disney cruise! :wave2:

Is it confirmed that SW will be premiering on the last night? Or is it wishfully thinking? We have 4 nights booked at the Grand for our anniversary but looking at possibly switching to this cruise. Will there be special Holiday things going on? Obviously you would all pick the cruise over WDW but can anyone tell me why you would? We are WDW veterans but have never done a Disney cruise before.

I called DCL a while back, and they won't say for sure, said we have to call a few weeks before the cruise. That is pretty typical response about what movies will be showing that far out. But from what I have seen on the DIS, DCL ALWAYS does the Prem-Ear at sea at midnight when a movie is released on land the next day. So, I am going on the assumption it will be, but prepared to go and see it Friday when we get off the ship if for some reason it isn't! If you want to be 100% sure, you would have to book the Dream leaving on the 18th (3 days) or the Fantasy on the 12th (7 days). If you wait after that you run into holiday rates which are crazy expensive.

There are lots of threads on here about DCL vs. WDW. Having lived most of my life in Orlando, and with my father and 2 siblings working at WDW, I have literally been hundreds of times to the parks, so obviously I love WDW, but I prefer to cruise. Much more relaxing, especially as a mom, I don't have to worry about where we are going to eat, transportation (be it driving or bus or monorail) or really anything. Just look at the navigator and see what looks good - everything is a 2 minute walk from your room, and there is plenty to keep everyone in the family occupied separately, but lots to do together.

A couple years ago when I sailed the Fantasy in early December, the Christmas decorations were up, including a giant Gingerbread house. I believe everything starts going up right before Thanksgiving. Obviously some events only occur on the actual Christmas cruise, but here is what I got from the DCL website:

Location: Fleetwide

Gatprmom when did you sail on the Fantasy in December a couple years ago? I went in December 2013. I think the date was the 12/12/13. Maybe we were on the same cruise:)

I hope we get the Prem Ear of SW! Years ago, I stayed up for a late night showing of Lincoln, also on the last night...somehow, I stayed up and made the early morning breakfast. Thought it was worth it!

5 weeks from my bilateral knee surgery, I am walking around the house without a walker or cane! Yeah!
