Disney Magic 12/13/2015

Just back from DVC Member cruise, and a very successful Candy Exchange. There was someone else from my area and we chose to give the same treats! That's never happened before!

If you are interested, post here, and start a conversation with me to tell me your cabin number, how many people, and if there are any allergies. We give local or regional candy or snacks once during the cruise. I keep the groups between 6-11 members.

Anyone interested in a fish extender exchange. Contact me at fortheloveofdcl@gmail.com. We have a group and chat going on you know where. Bobbi, if you are still doing the pink drink party please go to our other location it needs to be prepaid to me so I can pay Disney. Also you need to go over there to organize your candy people there.

Hi! Not interested in Pink Drink Party! Am interested if there will be a Mixology Meet. Also, yest to the Ornament Exchange, I think that will be fun!

I've always just organized the Candy Exchanege here on the Dis Boards.

Am on a RCCL cruise now, miss seeing the FE's and pictures, magnets hanging on doors!

Well then I will let everyone know over there that your not including them. That is where everyone is not sure why you wouldn't include. Why did u join there if you weren't gonna include them or speak there. ??

Hi, I find FB more confusing than here, and it has never been an issue that I post here more. I think I joined the FB page because of the ornament exchange.

I never would exclude anyone from the Candy Exchange. If anyone wants to join, I am glad to list them here.

Well some of them don't have this so I just said that you aren't counting them over there so I was removing it from our join us form.

I am back from an amazing cruise to Hawaii! Then we stayed at Disney's Aulani. The best vacation ever!
If there's anyone who thinks they want to join the Candy Exchange, :welcome:

Anyone else here from the east coast and dealing with wind and rising tides? We're OK, but the tree in front of our house is shaking in the wind. One tree down on our street.

I am interested in FE but I am not on FB. Anyone here doing a FE? If not, maybe I will just bring me FE and stuff it with things for my kids.

I did a candy exchange once before and had a hard time finding "local" candy...

Hi! No one will check to see if your candy is local....I see you refer to yourself as gator mom, our Daughterinlaw is from Houma, and I know she has gifted us with pralines. Now they live in Houston, but she finds them somewhere.

I found out that Life Savers were invented in Cleveland, not my part of Ohio, but it worked.

I hope you find folks to share FE with you, or as you said, surprise your kids on your own!

I am so looking forward to seeing the Magic decorated for Christmas!

Bobbi

DH & I booked this on board the Wonder! We are retired, living in Ohio, hopefully we will live in FLORIDA by the time this cruise rolls around!

The Wonder was decorated for Halloween, we want to be on a ship decorated for Christmas!

DCuz is joining us! She is Silver CC, DH and I will be Platinum!: I am already, DH needs 1 more before he is. We have the EBTA booked in May.

I will organize a Candy Exchange if there is interest. We use Fish Extenders to give out local candies or treats. This past trip, a participant gave out Cheese Straws from Mississippi!::yes:: We give out a brief history of the treats. It's fun and I keep the group's between 8-12, so not a huge commitment. I hope there is interest!

My adult DD and I are most interested in FE exchange with you snow land folks and hope to be added to the Candy Exchane list. Ours will be Florida candies (think citrus)!

I will be starting a conversation with everyone involved to be sure you are still "in." That will be in a week or so. If you are still interested, reply to me with you stateroom, if there are any allergies we should know about, and how many are in your stateroom. Then I will set the deadline for sign ups November 10l

As far as amount to give, it does vary, but generally enough for the cabin to share. If there are children involved, I like to give something special for them. Also it is nice to include something from the internet explaining the history or something about your selection. It looks as if there will be one group!

Today is the deadline for our "buyers" and so, it looks as if we will be travelling from Ohio. That's fine, I have recovered from my knee surgeries, and can do steps now, so really the urgency is gone.

In 2014, folks here told about the ability to get and decorate a Gingerbread House on board. I hope they do that again. Decorating a Gingerbread house with my family has been a tradition. I know you can't take them with you, but it would fun to have one in our stateroom for the duration of the cruise!

Bobbi
I wonder if Disney could donate the houses to The Ronald McDonald Houses if we can't keep them!

That would be nice, but I think the problem is taking the opened baked goods off the ship.

Ok, add us in to the candy exchange please!

That did gingerbread houses in early December 2012 on our Fantasy cruise. We were allowed to bring them to our room, just not off the ship.
