Disney Land This Coming Weekend

Taking advantage of a business trip to go to Disney Land this coming Saturday and Sunday. Driving up from San Diego Saturday morning and will arrive around 10AM. We would like to ride RSR since we've never done so and am trying to figure out the best strategy for doing so without spending a ton of time in line. Just the wife and I so we can do single rider line if that saves time. Should we go to California Land first thing Saturday morning, go Saturday night before closing, or try to go first thing Sunday morning? Staying offsite so won't be able to take advantage of EMH. You should have no problem at all riding multiple times if you utilize the SRL. At 10, you may have a bit of a wait in SRL, but probably less than 30 minutes. You will very likely be able to still get FPs when you arrive as well. Check the times, wait for an evening time if you can. Use SRL in the day, use your FP for the evening/night.

We have experienced all kinds of different wait times in the SRL, from 5 minutes to 45. This will be a three day weekend for some, so expect some crowds. What I would do is go grab a FP when you first get to the parks, then head over to DL. If this is your biggest draw for the trip, I would hit it first thing Sunday morning. SRL doesn't always open up right away, but once it does, wait times in the morning are quite short. Grab another FP for the evening if you are staying later in the day.

I agree that SRL is probably your best bet if you want to do multiple rides in one day. DCA opens at 8:00 am on Saturday, so they will probably still have RSR FPs available when you arrive around 10:00 am (for late-evening/night return times) - though I wouldn't wait to long after you arrive to go get the FP. FPs have been lasting later into the day since last summer (when they connected RSR FPs to the rest of the DCA system and no longer allowed guests to line up pre-park opening to get a FP). On Sunday, you could still get an RSR FP in the morning because they don't distribute FPs until the park opens for everyone.

I agree with taking advantage of the Single Rider line. I was there this past Friday and Saturday and the SRL was only about 20 minutes both days.

Thanks! What were the wait times/crowd like in general this past Saturday? We have a fairly focused list of rides we want to do over the 2 day period (Indiana Jones, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder, Pinnochio, Mr. Toad’s, Alice In Wonderland, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, Space Mtn, and Buzz at Disneyland and Twilight Zone, Radiator Springs Racer, California Screamin’ and Toy Story at California Adventure) and I really want to avoid any waits over 20 minutes or so. We'll def take advantage of FP and will probably stay till midnight on Saturday and arrive for opening Sunday morning. Trying to get a plan of attack that won't require us to rush all over the park and still see everything. We've been to Disney World enough times that we know exactly what to do but haven't been to Disneyland in over a decade and never to California Adventure.

Since you are getting there a little late Saturday I would say focus on fast passes. But even at 10 you should be able to do thunder, haunted mansion and pirates all under 20 minutes. Alice in wonderland has been updated and the line is usually around 30 minutes. Pinocchio and Toads are almost always under 20, Toads maybe 30 minutes even on the weekends.
Sunday morning get there at rope drop and you can do your whole list before all us locals drag our asses out of bed and get there
