Disney just aren't contacting me?

I'm getting really stressed out right now and questioning whether I should have gone with Disney!

We decided pretty late that we want to get married with the memories package in late April next year when we are coming over for a holiday from the UK. I contacted Disney via email on the site (form etc) in early November, didn't hear for 2 weeks, so I found the US number and called about 2 weeks ago. I was told someone will call me back within 3 days, after a week I heard nothing so I called again and was told in another 3 days someone will call... Still no call (or email) It's really upsetting me because I can't plan anything until I know they have the dates.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I wonder if they're having trouble with your international phone number. I'd just keep bugging them. :)

Agree with Lurkyloo....they were on the ball with calling me back. Sounds like something is off there.

They've honestly been pretty great with me. My coordinator called my Australian mobile number at exactly the agreed time this morning my time. When we were starting out they were emailing back within a couple days of the initial call to make it a serious request to book not just vague interest.
I started planning about November 11 in the information exchange with the consultant and the BEO is nearly ready to be sent to me from the Coordinator as of December 8th.

Just keep calling them and make sure and get them to spell back the email address you might have given and the phone number. The coordinator misspelt my email address in her initial contact with me from hand over from the consultant...but we sorted it out and she's been great

I called again yesterday, was told my planner is on vacation and put me through to her voicemail... I am yet to even secure my date. Getting really disheartened now.

How can you have a planner if you haven't arranged anything yet? I would call back and request a new planner and request to speak to someone available. You don't need the added stress:)

Disney treats Memories events very casually because they are so easy to arrange. Like one-week's-notice easy. And there are so few Memories events, with so many available dates and times, that I am sure you will have no problem getting the date you want when your planner returns from vacation.

Try not to stress. Even with my Escape wedding I could have booked near a busy weekend or marathon and presidents weekend. I moved by a week to get the DVC accommodation we wanted. When I started stressing on the photography portrait session and getting the time I wanted while my consultant was away from the office for a few days I just rang Disney fine art direct and booked that direct. It's now being added to my BEO so it's all coordinated.

that sounds strange and is likely due to the volume of the holiday events and parties and vacations.
Every time I called or emailed, I received amazing assistance right away but this was back in October.
You should demand to speak with a manager as that is ridiculous to wait days for a response.

407-566-6494 that's the number a wedding consultant by the name of Pam Pearce whom I've been talking to gave me.....give her a call and ask for her , (please let her know that Jennifer bowman referred her......thanks )

Thanks everyone. Can I ask to change consultants? I finally spoke to mine and well, it was a little underwhelming. I suppose I am expecting too much, it's only a memories package after all... I just wasn't told a lot, that i'd get an email, that I had to then call again and chase to actually receive. All it was was asking for my phone number and reservation. Then a reply to say i'll get a letter of agreement in a 'couple weeks'...

Is that really it?

I really wanted to book GF Garden tea rooms for champagne tea after, she said 'just call disney dining' so I did, and it's fully booked. Feel like if I'd had this sorted a month ago I could have got that.

Really disappointed ..

Yes, I have heard from other Memories brides that the process feels a bit... antiseptic, I guess you'd say. It's mostly ticking boxes on a form—the planners really don't have much they can do for you. I wouldn't give up hope on that Gardenview Tea Room reservation just yet, though. Availability changes a lot as you get closer, so keep checking back. If you need a reservation for more than 14 people, call the restaurant directly at 407-824-2351.

Yes I suppose I just thought they'd help a little more with things eg the tea and some other suggestions...

As Garden view tea rooms is now fully booked, I got a reservation at GF cafe. Do you know if we would be able to go there, order their desert samplers (x2) and fondue and a bottle of champagne? I cannot see champagne on their lunch menu however... Who could I ask about this?

Thanks...hard to plan this from the UK !!

Yes, this is a common complaint, even with Escape weddings. It does seem like it should be part of the service for a wedding group. But since they have no special access to reservations, they'd just be calling the same ADR hotline you can call.

Also, just because Gardenview Tea Room is booked now, four whole months out, doesn't mean it will still be booked when you get there. Availability changes all the time—I'm almost always able to get what I want by continuing to check as the trip draws closer. And it's not a high-demand place like Le Cellier or Be Our Guest. I'd keep checking online!

I'm sure GF Cafe can get you a bottle of Champagne, especially when they see you're celebrating. You can contact the manager at 1-407-824-1841. If they say no, you can pop upstairs to Mizner's Lounge and get one.

Thanks, I've just discovered Disney Swan/Dolphin weddings and now trying to get information on the prices and what these include but it's so incredibly difficult !! All I get is referrals to their 'planning' site which only lets me reserve a date, no idea of prices...

Gah, ready to give up!

If you email just marry (planners for swan/dolphin) they are very good about answering questions quickly!! I love them....definitely going to use them for my VR. Emailing them gets accurate answers and fast which is perfect for the beginning stages of planning

If you have the PassPorter, complete Swan & Dolphin package pricing is in Chapter 4. Lemme see if I have their PDF anywhere....

Thanks I have spoken to a consultant and am much happier with the response. Far more flexibility. The only worry is that they told me swan brides are not allowed to leave the hotel in their wedding dress?? Really? I thought I could go anywhere but in the parks. I wanted to hire randy for the ceremony then go to boardwalk and gf...they said I can't??
