My dd is 9.... She does watch Disney Jr. still but mostly just because her little brother (4) does. LOL! Would this be too young for her? I don't want to have her feel out of place if it's going to be mostly the preschool crowd in the audience ;)

There will be other kids older than 9 years in the theater.

As to whether the show will be "too young..." if she watches the TV shows at home, she should
be OK with the stage version.

Like me... :cool1: :lmao: I think maybe she'll like it. I've been trying to show her a few things (first trip) online and this was something that just hit me tonight that I wasn't sure if she'd enjoy just due to her age, but I guess if she sings it around the house she'll be groovin' along with everyone else. lol

My soon to be 6 y.o. is conflicted. On the one hand, she has determined that most of the characters in the Disney Jr. show are too juvenile for her. On the other hand, she enjoys the show.

With a 4 y.o. boy in HS, I'd go to the Disney Jr. Show. Make it all about him and your daughter will, in all likelihood, enjoy the show too.

One more thing, if you happen to be staying on-site, maybe you can schedule time for the kids to go to a Dance Party with the Disney Jr. Characters at the place of the Show. This happens only on Extra Magic Hour evenings and during the extra magic hours......

Don't give it a 2nd thought. Plenty of older siblings will be there.

DS is older than 9, 5'1", not thin, and he LOVES Disney Jr. Concert. No one gives him a 2nd glance, and never has anyone minded that he gets up to dance. (He is special needs, but its not 'obvious' at first and still no one cares - i.e., they aren't just being nice to him because he's cognitively disabled.)

It's a very pleasant, casual crowd. I've gone dozens of times (probably a dozen just in 2014).

FWIW, there are benches in the far back of the room where grandparents and pre-teen siblings (my other DS!) can go and sit away from the show if they wish. If your 9 year old thinks its too childish for him/her, s/he can go sit there with a phone (we put ours on mute and DS plays games).

Forgot to mention that my 4 yr old will not be there, it's just me and my dd going this time around :) I talked to her this morning, she said she would give it a whirl. lol

I showed my older daughter (she thinks she's a very mature 7 year old :) ) a video of an older version of the show on youtube to see if she'd like it. I didn't want to show her the current version so that there'd be something new for her if we saw the show on our next visit.

She saw the one with the little Einsteins and Jake and the Neverland Pirates and loved it. It'll definitely be on our list for our next visit.

I would leave it up to her. It doen't need a FP+ so when you are there you could ask her if she wants to do it (tell her what the show will include) and if she says yes then watch the show. If not do Ariel and/or Arts of Animation. 7-10 is kind of a bubble age for this show. 6 and under should like it.
