Disney Jail

not doubting this really happened and have heard other stories with the same outcome but who actually bans them? and how would they know it's the same Fred Smith or what ever...
WDW Security makes the decision on whether or not to have someone banned. When they do so, they collect information about the guest, like height, weight, birthdate, SSN, etc (to avoid confusion with similarly-named guests). The guest is then formally notified that they have been banned from Disney Property. If they are a resort guest, housekeeping will pack up their belongings at their room and their luggage will be placed at an intersection near (but off) Disney Property -- I was told it's on 535 near The Crossroads; I'm not entirely certain.

If the guest returns to Disney Property, and either OC or Security catches them, they will be formally charged with Criminal Trespassing and arrested by Orange County Sherriff's Deputies.

One of my friends was at Disney for a convention. He and a colleague went to PI for the night. Well, his friend got into a fight with anothe patron and when the Disney Security came out of nowhere and started handling his friend, he put a hand on the guy to just say, "Hey, it wasn't my friend's fault" and was jumped by other Disney Security. They threw him and his friend into the county jail for the night.

He was then told that he is banned from WDW for life. If you knew the guy, you would say "WHAT?!" He is one of the most laid-back, passive people I know.

The problem is he now has 2 small kids and his DW loves Disney. We keep wanting to plan a trip with them, but don't know what will happen when we mention his name. This happened about 3-4 yrs ago.

 He should seriously consider changing his name!! LOL

;) Thats a good question, I answered it in another thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=765878
The OP asked:
I was looking at my POR mug that I got last month and there is a lid at the bottom that can be pulled off. It says not to put liquids in it? What is it for?? Can you put ice in it or a snack?? I am completely clueless. :flower:
and luckily I knew the answer:
It is a tracking device. If you try to fill the mug at a resort that the mug was not purchased at it will deactivate the soda machine so you can't fill up and alert Disney security. pirate: I seen this happen at the CBR, a guest had a mug from the AS Sports and was going to fill up at CBR but when he tried to fill it nothing happened because of the tracking device on the bottom but he didn't know that. Within about 3 minuets while the guy was still trying to figure out why the machine wouldn't despense his soda 2 security guys came and confiscated his mug and the other mugs from his family of four. His wife and kids were sent back to their rooms at the all star under house arrest for the rest of the day and he was taken in handcuffs to Chef Mickeys where he had to wash dishes untill the Resturant closed that night, afterwards he was taken to the MK where he had to clean every restroom in the park using only a Mickey Mouse ::MickeyMo toothbrush, each restroom was inspected by Mary Poppins for her aproval before he could be finished, he had no memory of what happened after that but woke up the next morning at 9:30am proped up against his room at the AS Sports wearing a Peter Pan costume and bare feet. His family had all priority seating privileges taken away for the remainder of their stay and when it came time for check out they had to pay the hotel rate as if they had stayed in a tower suite at the GF. So remember, you an only fill up your mugs at the resort they were purchased at during the stay they were purchased.
That is what happens to people who do bad things at Disney...

wow it's a good thing I was an honest parent. when my DS was 4 we were shopping on Main St I bought all our stuff and we left, when we went to return our stroller I noticed my DS was holding a stuffed Crush that we did not pay for. So we went back and paid for it, I was teaching him even if you take something by mistake it's not right. He still loves that Crush, he said Crush is going back to visit Disney with us in May.

My old bosses sons girlfriends mom (get that?) was caught stealing at the Emporium. (My boss requested the police report since she was a whack). It said Disney security stopped her at the entrace to Adventureland where she was escorted from the park and turned over to the Orange County Police. She was taken to the station but no charges were pressed. And the father and kids didn't know what happened to her since they were on a ride while she "shopped." Great example for the kids huh?

This thread is giving me a headache! De ja vu does that to me sometimes. ;)

WHO COULD DO BAD THINGS AT DISNEY???? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Please dont allow yourself to think that bad things dont happen at disney. While I would venture that it's a pretty low number of 'bad things', just the same, they do in fact happen there.
