My family and I are going to Disneyworld in February and I was thinking about what rides my father ( 62 ) shouldn't go on because of his age. Miraculously the only 3 rides in all of Disneyworld that he wouldn't do well on are RnRC, TOT and M:S, but in the overall scheme of things, I think thats amazing that Disney is able to provide entertainment in all their parks that EVERYONE in your family can ride. You'd think that due to the fact their new rollercoaster E:E doesn't have all the fancy loops, big drops, etc. that Disney wouldn't be able to hang with the likes of Universal or Six Flags, but they don't just hang with em', they punch em' in the face and take their cotton candy!

Bravo Disney! :cheer2:

I agree. Disney is amazing. I hope you and your family have a great time. :thumbsup2

Hi! Disney is great!

My dad is 61ish and was not a big fan of EE, but rides all the other rides. He didn't like EE because it went backwards.

I wouldn't count out Mission:Space just yet. They have the tamer Green Team which takes out all the spinning. It's much easier. And he can go through everything but still wants to bail out, he can right before boarding the capsule.

And yes, Disney is amazing. I have a broken neck and still have a great time.

:lmao: nice one!

Well does M:S Green version even move at all then? Or are you just sitting there watching the screen and hitting the buttons?

It moves but like Star Tours NO Spinning at all like the orange side. And Much milder the ST just a bit of rocking back and forth.

The main reason I was impressed with Disney from the start, is that I could ride the rides with my dd (who was about 2 when we first went). At other theme parks, we could only stand by the fence and watch. It just wasn't the same.

Just as warning, Space Mountain is really, really bumpy and jerky. It's a much, much rougher ride than RnRC. Dinosaur is really rough and bumpy/jerky as well. I don't know if that will be an issue, or not, but I wanted you to know.

I did the now Orange Team before my accident and now do the Green Team. The only difference that we could feel was the G forces at the liftoff. Everything else is just the same. I was so concerned because this is one of my absolute favorite attractions and thought the Green Team would be so sub-par. Nope. It's still one of my favorites with the Green Team. It rocks!

I visit Walt Disney World once or twice each year, with my most recent visit being a solo, five night stay, just last week (Nov 27 - Dec 2, 2006). I am a 73 year old male, and experience everything at the parks except the rides that I think are "jerkey-bumpy," and a couple of others that go around and around in a circle.

I would recommend that he skip the following ...

Magic Kingdom: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Mad Tea Party, Space Mountain and the Astro Orbiter.

Animal Kingdom: Primeval Whril and Dinosaur.

Disney-MGM Studios: Star Tours.

Epcot: Mission Space (the orange version) and Body Wars when open.

Enjoy.

My father was down there with us a couple of years ago and he did BTMRR, Dinosaur and Space Mountain and even though he thought SM and BTMRR were "fast", he still did ok on them. :sunny:

I don't think 62 is too old for rides :confused3

it is just me?

The Green version is stress free. In fact, there is much less bouncing than Star Tours I think.

Well like I said, he will ride anything, but I just felt those three rides might be a little too much for him.

My parents are in that age range too and they ride everything also. Now the old MS did give them some problems and they did not feel well for quite a bit afterward, however with the new non-spinning track I bet they will really like it this time. I personally cannot do Star Tours or Body Wars they make me feel too sick and I felt that way about those rides on my honeymoon when I was in my early 20's!

I agree Disney is great for everyone!! I have loved taking a mulit-generational trip and everybody from the babies to grandparents can ride quite a few rides together!!! :)

 Hey...we visit WDW at least four times a year.....and go on every ride: so far. Ages; both 67 :dance3: :smooth:

My mom is 60ish and does all the rides ~ The only one she didn't like was M:S. She loves all of the coasters and her fav is TOT.

What a coincidence. Me and my family will be hitting the parks this Feb. aswell. Yay! We go just about everyyear in Feb. I like it because of the mild crowds. Usually the only park that is remotely too crowded is MK on the weekend. But anyways I do think it's wonderful how disney has rides that capture the interest of children, teens (like me), adults and of elderly. It's just such a magical theme park...I love it! :goodvibes

My husband is 48 and has had back surgery, 2 rods and 4 screws, and he rides everything. :cool1: I know he is a lucky one to have come out of back surgery and can now do everything and more than he did before. :goodvibes
He says that the rides are tame to other big coaster. :thumbsup2 He even does the big coasters at US, IOA, SW. Have fun and let your Dad decide, he is the one who counts. :thumbsup2
