I need help. I am video game illiterate. :)
I grabbed DI 2.0 marvel Ed. back when it was cheap. I was just trying to read and see what else I need to buy to go with it. In reading it sounds like my boys might like the other toy box version better. They are almost 5 and 7. Sounds like that one is more creative and imaginative? Is that correct? Should I exchange mine or just get toy box as well? Or should I keep the avengers one? What do you experience folks think?

You can still use the toy box with the Avengers game. You can use all the different characters as well. In my opinion, I would keep what you have and they can play in the toy box until they are ready or interested in playing game mode. I hope that helps!

I would keep the one you have too. It has toy box mode on it AND the games. The toy box only has the toy box mode. That way when they want to play the games, they can do so.

As far as needing other stuff, unless there is another character your boys would enjoy more, I would start with just that (or another character or two).

Thanks for your help! So Ivan buy that cute sorcerer Mickey and it will work for our game?

You might want to buy them a package or two of power disks to help with the game play, just a suggestion:goodvibes

Both versions have exactly the same disc and base. So they can both play exactly the same stuff, if you have the pieces that activate the characters or worlds. Assuming you got the $40 or so Black Friday price, keep the Marvel one (and hold onto the characters until later if you want to). Buy whatever characters you think they'd like in the Toy Box. The Toy Box set came with Merida and Stitch, if you want to match it exactly.

But, you might also let them try the super hero world. We haven't yet opened Infinity 2.0 so I can't specifically speak to the content of that world. However, we do have original Infinity. One of the sets I got for the kids (ages 9 and 4) was the Lone Ranger one. We've never seen the movie but both of them really like that one.

My DS7 is playing the Marvel set right now with a friend using Elsa and Sorcerer Mickey. They are having fun with it.

This is all great news! Thank you!! If I hadn't asked I would have gone out and spend $50 on a set I didn't need.

So if I buy the Wii U Super Mario bundle AND Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Starter pack, do I need to get another controller? Does the game unit only come with one?

I am jumping on this thread ... we have the first Infinity and DD7 plays in toy box mode. But there is a mission in the Monster U area. I bought the 2.0 Merida one. Will this one have missions too or can she just build/play in toy box? We have had it a year, and I bought the book but I just don't get it. :confused3

I believe the systems only come with one controller unless otherwise stated. (Not entirely sure what is all in the Super Mario Bundle other than the games)

2.0 Toy Box edition (Stitch and Merida) does not come with a crystal piece needed to access the storymode. The only 2.0 storymodes available currently are the Marvel Heroes stories. (Avengers, Spiderman, Guardians of the Galaxy)

Hope this helps.

We bought the super Mario bundle wii u this summer. You will need to buy a wii remote and nunchuck to play two players on infinity. It only comes with game pad and no remote. My kids are 4,6,9&11. They love the regular infinity. I bought 2.0 for them for Christmas.

Merida won't work on old Infinity at all. You'll need to get Infinity 2.0 for her to work.

Do regular Wii controllers work with Wii U? I have 2 of those. Or do I buy something specifically for Wii U?

Ok my experience with the wii u is only from research, as Santa is bringing our family one for Christmas along with infinity 2 and a few other games. I do have an old wii and first infinity along with a kid who is nuts about it. The old controllers work but some people prefer the newer ones because you can charge the batteries on a stand instead of removing them (there are charging docks that hold the wii u game pad and remotes for about $40) the very old or basic remotes also don't have the motion plus sensorhic is needed in some games, but not that many. Not the infinity.
From what I've read all of the infinity 1 characters work in two but none of the crystal ball things will work. So if you want those games keep the one around too? There are no balls outside marvel yet but they are coming soon. They are due to release more characters soon, including an Aladdin/ jasmine pack with both environment discs.

I can't wait until the kids go to bed Christmas ngi and my husband and I get to play assassins creed! :) I have been wanting an adult game and a system that can play it...Santa is so nice to include us
