My son, 8, broke his arm almost two weeks ago. It was a really bad break, between his wrist and his elbow at a not natural 90 degree angle (thankfully not compound fracture). He is now in a cast past his elbow. He is in his cast probably until late October (depending on how it heals of course) and disney for us in the middle of November. The Dr is considering putting a short arm cast (below elbow) on when he gets the big one off because breaks like his are really easy to re-break.
Now, my son, can trip on air and is constantly hurting himself. I really will push for the short arm cast for a while longer. Depending on how long the dr wants to keep it on, should I push for it to be ON at Disney or OFF at Disney.
I think ON because I would hate to be in the ER during the trip with another broken arm. I think OFF because, well, it would just be better for rides and swimming (although we can get the cast bag which allows for swimming now) and during rainstorms.
Any experiences with casts at Disney??
