Is there any hotel anyone reccomends for a Disney Honeymoon?

I haven't been able to find any information on any kind of honeymoon suite or anything.

Anyone been to a hotel there and heard of or seen anything like it?

 thank you!!

Oh... and I am posting here because we aren't getting married at DW like all of the people on the Wedding&Honeymoon thread. I figured people on this thread would know best for just a "vacation".

I am not sure about honeymoon suites, but I would GLADLY recommend a one bedroom villa at the Boardwalk Inn. I would also try to get a fireworks view when booking. The one bedroom has a huge jacuzzi tub and there is a fold away door that can open to the bedroom so you can basically have the tub in the bedroom. Watching fireworks from your balcony (even though its horridly hot in August) is a plus. I love these rooms. My favorite by far.

I too recommend the Boardwalk for a honeymoon. PP was talking about a 1 bdrm villa, which is on the Boardwalk Villa side. If you want a boardwalk view (which also can have a great view of illuminations) it must be booked by a DVC member on points. I'd also recommend a Garden Suite on the Boardwalk Inn side because it has concierge access and is quite comfy for two... king bed, loft over living area, huge jacuzzi... the works :thumbsup2

so I was reading this thread earlier today, because I really want to have a romantic getaway (and if honeymoon suites are being recommended, I mean, really, how much more romantic can you get?!?)
So I made a mental note to check out the Boardwalk hotel on Disney's site...and here I am, hours later, checking out the hotel.

All was fine & dandy until I got to the pictures of the FREAKY CLOWN POOL!!!!!!!
:eek::eek::clown::clown::rotfl:

I had forgotten which hotel had the freaky clown pool, but as soon as I saw the pictures, I knew this was NOT my idea of romantic!!

Thank you guys sooo much! That helps alot! We were looking at the Value Hotels, thats why I asked. Those don't look very romantic. haha. :rotfl:

I am looking into Boardwalk now! :flower3:

I went to Disney for my honeymoon and it was the most fantastic trip of my life! My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom villa at Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. The size of the one bedroom was very comfortable for us and gave us plenty of room to relax. We also loved the kitchen! Gave us a fun night at home to cook up a pizza, have some wine and watch some Disney movies in the living room. :)

Another thing that I loved about choosing Saratoga Springs was that it was a short boat ride to Downtown Disney. So you and your new hubby can go grab some late night drinks and enjoy the entertainment and then head back home. I would do some research and check out all of the Disney Vacation Club resorts (these are the resorts that offer the villas). There are so many different atmospheres to choose from.

Hope you two have a magical wedding and a honeymoon you will never forget!

They do have a nice quiet pool area which is lovely though. . .

I know there's a honeymoon suite at the Wilderness Lodge.

my brother and his fiancee are staying at the Poly's honeymoon suite for their honeymoon in September. I know it books WICKED early, though (he had to book it a year in advance ).

I know that there are Honeymoon rooms at the Grand Floidian as well. They have hot tubs in them. My wife and I stayed there for our honeymoon in 2002, but we stayed in what is called the "turret rooms." No hot tub, but the room is a big octagon shape with windows on 5 or 6 of the sides. Looking out our windows we could see Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and HS. It was truly wonderful, and, although expensive, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Does anyone know anything else about the Grand Floridian Honeymoon rooms? We are staying there ofr our honeymoon in Sept. and we are trying to decide between the "turret" rooms and the ones with the hot tubs. Anyone know how big the hot tubs are? Or any other info would be appreciated. :teeth:

the grand floridian hm jacuzzi suites have a garden tub with jets. So it's the same size as a garden tub, and it's not separate from the shower--same area. if you book this, it's under Deluxe King Room -- then you request a jacuzzi or turret suite... and it's only a request. hope this helps!

Hmm .... now I'm googling "garden tub" and I get a wide range of answers. The main question is, are they big enough for 2?

ehhh.... 2 very tiny people i imagine, lol. it's basically a wider, tub, but not much wider. i'm going hunting for a picture now!!

Well, that's disappointing! Seems kind of strange to call it a "honeymoon" room then doesn't it? Is a turret room considered better overall? I know nothing a guaranteed but I at least want to make sure that we have a request in for the best room type. It IS our honeymoon ....

Thanks so much for your help!!

Well... we toured both rooms in November. The turret suite is minus the jacuzzi jets and has a larger bedroom area. The TV felt REALLY far away, lol. The furniture also was showing some wear and tear. Also... the turrets have kind of crappy views... where as the jacuzzi rooms have some of the most amazing views.

We are getting married next year at Disney's Wedding Pavilion and it has been my dream to stay in the main building at the Grand Floridian. Honestly, after touring the rooms... we changed our minds and will be doing a split stay between Bay Lake Tower and the Yacht Club's Club Level. Bay Lake Tower's 1-Bedrooms are so spacious, they have the washer and dryer if we need them, a bigger jacuzzi tub, etc. Not to mention.... they're not $825 per night.

Hope this helps!

I'm glad, because I would have to avoid the clown pool!

I feel the same way about it during the day. Yet somehow, after closing Jellyrolls and/or Atlantic Dance Hall after 2am, it doesn't seem so bad. I've no idea why...:thumbsup2

Garden Suites at BWI are AWESOME! They open right to the quiet pool so you really don't need the clown pool at all. There is an upstairs and down. (Some are totally set off from each other and other are lofted. There is a 1/2 bath downstairs and a full upstairs with a large jetted tub (same size as DVC). There are full balcony's on the rooms that are not lofted. (So you can request those.) Downstairs is a couch and chair as well as table and chairs and a wetbar. We loved it! CL was awesome as well! It's location is very private and peaceful. The view is more of a garden view (no boardwalk views). They also have cute little birdhouse mailboxes in front of each one. LOVED IT!
