Disney Honeymoon Suite??

my fiance and I are planning on a honeymoon at WDW and we wanted to stay at animal kingdom lodge. i've always been curious about whether there actually are specific honeymoon suites and now i know! i'll have to try and sniff out pictures of those rooms on google!

the clown pool at BW scares me too, but the boardwalk lit up at night seems so romantic!

saratoga springs is really tempting because of the great location to DTD, but it doesn't feel as "Disney" to me for some reason. i have no idea why!

It has been my dream to stay in the main building at the Grand Floridian. Honestly, after touring the rooms... we changed our minds and will be doing a split stay between Bay Lake Tower and the Yacht Club's Club Level. Bay Lake Tower's 1-Bedrooms are so spacious, they have the washer and dryer if we need them, a bigger jacuzzi tub, etc. Not to mention.... they're not $825 per night.

I've always thought that GF was WAY overhyped... just a diluted copy of the Hotel del Coronado. It's an older resort, and that shows. The newer resorts have better amenities IMO. I've not had great experiences with the cast or the guests at GF either. Everyone seems to have their nose perpetually in the air.

I usually go for Beach/Yacht/BW or AK Lodge for Deluxe resorts.

Basically, you need to ask each resort which are their nicest rooms for your honeymoon. We honeymoned there in July, and we were told that there used to be rooms designated as "honeymoon" that came with a whole honeymoon package including the carriage ride at POR and a spa treatment at the GF ect... but then people didn't want certain aspects of the package so a year ago Disney stopped that and basically you just pick a resort and get which ever room you believe would make your honeymoon special.
We stayed at the Grand Floridian and didn't have the jaccuzi tub as it was 1000 degrees outside, so we opted for the Deluxe King room with a MK view. It was beautiful and romantic. We'd never pay that much again, but DH insisted we do it for our honeymoon

When we were at Hollywood Studios, we had the"Dinner with an Imagineer". The Disney Imagineer we talked with was Keith Lewis. He was kinda arrogant but full of information. He gave us some tips on honeymoon/romantic ideas. His best advice was to either with with the Polynesian or the Boardwalk.

Wilderness Lodge has a honeymoon suite, but it doesn't look that exciting. I haven't seen many reviews on it either. But just to let you know that they have one..

I am going to suggest the Walt Disney World Dolphin, you get all the extra magic hours, transportation( except ME), can't beat location for Epcot and DHS at a great price. In August they have rooms starting at $149 a night if you stay 5 the 6th night is free plus a $100 dining credit for restaurants in the Swan or Dolphin. The lobby is gorgeous, they have heavenly beds, and great views. Fabulous food and spa, great pool. I know it is not over the top Disney, but for a honeymoon I would think it would be perfect.
And Congratulations!

I think the AKL is the best place for a romantic get away.

BUT for future referances,

As there are no themed suites yet like the ones at DLR--the Animation Suites, which will open in 2012, are located at Pop and will be themed after Toy Story, Cars and the Little Mermaid.

:wizard:

Otherwise, you can get pirate themed rooms at Carribbean Beach Resort. I don't love that resort, to be honest.

Rumor has it there may be a Haunted Mansion theme thrown in with those suites, by the way, but again not until 2012.:rolleyes1

Garden Suites at BWI are AWESOME! They open right to the quiet pool so you really don't need the clown pool at all. There is an upstairs and down. (Some are totally set off from each other and other are lofted. There is a 1/2 bath downstairs and a full upstairs with a large jetted tub (same size as DVC). There are full balcony's on the rooms that are not lofted. (So you can request those.) Downstairs is a couch and chair as well as table and chairs and a wetbar. We loved it! CL was awesome as well! It's location is very private and peaceful. The view is more of a garden view (no boardwalk views). They also have cute little birdhouse mailboxes in front of each one. LOVED IT!

The cottage/garden suites at BWI would be my choice too (though I haven't had the chance to stay there yet).

I would do some research & check out all of the Disney Holiday Club resorts (these are the resorts that offer the villas). There's so plenty of different atmospheres to pick from.

My DH and I stayed in the Wilderness Lodge honeymoon suite in December 2007. We did book way in advance and had our choice of resort. We debated btw WL and Poly. Soooooo glad we stayed at WL. I don't know why anyone would think it was less than amazing. It has a tub (big enough for 2) with a waterfall. You have a private patio and watching fireworks and drinking champagne at night is very romantic. On the club level the 2 honeymoon suites have their own "hallway" and sitting area with a TV in front. Very private and considerate of guests who are not with chidren. We are planning to go back for our 5 year anniversary. I have seen the pics from the honeymoon suites at the GF nd Poly. They are not at new and updated as the suites at the WL. If you have any specific questions just ask!

This thread is a little older, but if you were still looking, try ***********.com. they have a lot of photos of most suites and room classes.
