Has anyone stayed at a private home near Disney? How far are they from the parks ? Would you rent one again? Thanks

The majority of vacation homes are 10 minutes from the world. In my opinion they offer space and value if your group is 6 or more.I know of homes that can sleep up to 12 that can be rented from $102 per night including taxes. You have all the amenities and comforts of home -away from homeI would not cramp my family into a hotel suite again.

For us this is the only way to go. Staying in a hotel room for 2 or 3 weeks (the usual length of our visits) with two teenage daughters is not our idea of a vacation!

For several trips now, we have booked a home for the duration of our stay and then taken a couple of nights out to stay onsite at either WDW or USF. We book two rooms (one for us and one for our daughters) - something we couldn't possibly afford to do if we stayed onsite for the entire trip.

The homes we rent are immaculate, spacious and with their own pools and jacuzzis. The closest are 5 minutes drive from Animal Kingdom, most are within 10-20 minutes of WDW. If you'd like to know I can give you the names of the closer sub-divisions.

Fire away if you have any specific questions.

I have rented 3 homes and 1 condo. They were all great. There's nothing like having your own bedroom, a kitchen to fix a few meals, a private pool and a washer & dryer. Go for it, they're wonderful.

If you are considering booking a home then it is more cost effective to go to the owner direct .The prices will probably be better, you will have more information about your home as the owner will give you details of how to get there direct rather than having to go to an office to collect keys.If you would like more details of renting a private home please PM me.

Most MC's have a system whereby you can go directly to the home providing you have pre-paid....after all, most of them organise it for the owners !

Also, a lot of MC's have pictures of the homes and know the homes well as they have to clean them ! Some MC's now have video tours of the homes on their web sites.

I have rented a home twice when I have gone with my sister and their families.
I have also rented a condo twice when there were just 3 of us going.
It is indeed much more economical, but I must warn you not to buy a lot of
food thinking that you will cook at home to often.
On our first trip we did that and we left a lot of food there.
Now we just buy breakfast item and stock up on fruits and
snacks that we can take to the parks with us.
If we are going to make dinner we stop at the grocery store on the way home.
We have been very happy with http://www.allstarvacationhomes.com/

Enjoy, Paula

That's a great tip Paula !!

My record has been 33 bags of trash from one house !! The people lived like pigs ! Makes me wonder what they did eat !
