Cast:
Dave, Freda, Devon, Mickey and Rene'
Left this morning about 1/2 hour later than I wanted, this is going to be a trend for the week. Headed out on I-4. Parked in their parking ramp. 8$ - with no AAA discount. No problem with tickets - I got a really good deal on them in Canada. I figured with the exchange I saved 120$ for the 5 of us for the 3 - day passes. Not bad at all. Picked up those express passes from the Kodak cameras. Can't really say they were worth anything. Some CM's didn't look at them and let me into the express side, some made me look to see if that ride was actually in the "book". Later on that week we gave it to some British family since it does expire.
Started our day with Jimmy Nutron, fun. Next to Shrek. We split up here. Rene' and I went to the Kid Zone. A few things were closed, so we went to the Animal Planet show. I wasn't impressed, but I'm not an animal person. Let her play in the playground for a while.
It was getting hot so I bought a slushy. We sipped on this while we walked over to do Jaws and Earthquake. Rene' did fine on both of these, she's 6 and pretty much a big chicken on rides. Just thought I'd throw that in if any of you have kids like that. She also got picked to be the "wheather" girl. The joke was on her, she loved it.
Almost time for lunch at City Walk so we strolled toward the exit. We stopped to do Jimmy Nutron again.
Didn't see the rest of the family at our meeting place. Hummm, where could they be? I left for Margaritaville and hoped they would meet me eventually. They did and after a few tiffs of "where were you"? I told you here not there. I'm sure the hostess was rolling her eyes.
OK, we settle in for a nice lazy lunch. I tell you if the chairs had been a little more cushy I could have taken a "wasten away again in Margaritaville" nap. We had 2 appetizers and each of the kids had a kids type meal. Ordered the calamari and volcano nachos. The calamari was good but I was in the mood for those nachos, really good. After AAA discount our bill was only around 38$ with tip. Also watched the volcano errupt - very cool - don't see that everyday in my little town, thats for sure!!
Left there to go to the other park. IOA. I have never been to either of these parks, so I did not know what to expect, so came with an open mind. Yes, there were a few things I missed at USF but on with the show. The girls and I had an OK time at Seussville. Walked around the park looking for something Rene' would do. I knew this was going to be a problem. Way too many big rides that she just would not do. We came to the Jurassic Park playground and I sipped a coke and let them loose. They came back a few minutes later, soaked to the bone
I was glad they were having fun but.............the MOM in me was thinking, yeah in a while they'll be freezing when the sun goes down. Oh well.
Continued on to Comic ? Land. Found some really creamy good ice cream cones. Ran into the guys. When they finished the bigger rides, Dave took Rene' back to Seussville. Devon, Mick and I did Spiderman about 4-5 times. Walked back to Cat in the Hat and stopped to watch the Hulk. Some serious G-force there.
It was starting to get dark so we headed toward the exit doing a little browsing. We also found a pastry shop. I found a creme horn. It was OK but I like the ones with just creme in it, this one had a pudding type filling. Dave had something, but by the time I got back from taking the girls to the bathroom it was gone.
Dragged ourselves back to the parking ramp. The kids loves those moving walkways. I guess its those "little" things.
As we were driving we decided that since we were close to Belz outlets we could do some shopping. After some direction confusion, we get there only to remember its sunday and they closed at 6!
Bad move. Driver take me home!
Back at Movies the girls went swimming and my "good" son did some homework. I left for the Poly to watch that evening lagoon light show. Cute but way too short, as I spent about 2 hours on the bus, there and back. Glad I went alone, or I would have heard..........we drove all that way for that?
The gang was in bed watching ............you guessed it..........Disney short clips, another trend. Good night. Rene' laughed in her sleep.
Favourite Disney movie line:
How can you "total" a Mammoth? - Brother Bear
