Disney has something HUGE happening! It's OFFICIAL...post #1

Wonder if the tickets could be upgraded to non expiring?

In the past we've been able to do what we want with our tickets... I'd have the front desk pull the tickets off the room keys (print separate cards) and head to guest services with them where you can upgrade them to an N day non expiring or even apply them toward an AP (although if Disney keeps producing cool deals like this through the year, an AP might not be the best)

Dang it! Figures dh can't get time off other than the time we have planned in September2009. I miss out on all the cool stuf!!:sad1:

So I am booked for 8 nights with 8 day hopper passes, that would make me eligible for 6 free days of tickets right? (3 for each of the 4 days I have aleady bought) You think I could pay to upgrade those to non-expiring and use them next time?! That would be sooooo awesome!

you won't be getting more tickets, on top of your 8, just the 8

If I can get what I want in February and have figured it out correctly, we can go stay at Pop (5 of us, 2 rooms) for 7 days for $2211.00. Yahoo!!! Lets hope this is right!

i just got off the phone with wdw....well all she would tell me is right now there is no specials but i should check out the web site. disneyworld.com. so whats that about. most be waitin till 5 to release it. so as like some of us, i have a room only ressie right now and i too am willing to cancel it and book a great offer this afternoon. so i guess we sit and wait. but i am heading to the website to see if i can find anything there.

What dates are you figuring this on? We're a family of 7 (2 adults, 2 disney adults and 3 children) and it's coming out the same (if not more) than our Sept/October free dining dates for 7 nights/8 days. And I'm just running numbers on 4 nights/5 days......couldn't figure out what the HUGE deal was, since the numbers were not showing any big discounts :confused3 Maybe I'm running them wrong or something.

Oh and I'm running it on value season dates in February....so again, maybe it's not that great a deal for our family size/dates...etc.

Thanks for calling!!

I would assume it's Eastern time that the annoucement will come, (since WDW is on the east coast and goes by EST) you have a 3 hour time difference from the east coast so it would 2pm PST....

P.S to assure you, right now I am in New England (EST) and it is 10:09 am... it should be 7:09am where you are, right?

Would it mean that at 5pm eastern time it would actually be 8pm for pacific?

Hmm, If I am buy 8 why wouldn't I get 3 free for each of the 4 that I am buying, (as the deal says?)
Just curious.

Disney will only produce up to a 10 day pass for us (within the US) Only foreign travelers have up to a 14(?) day pass available to them and it sounds like they are not included in this.

What they'll most likely do for you is have you pay for 5 days and give you the remaining 3 for free (only a few $ in savings really) I can almost guarantee that they will not produce a second set of passes for you to meet the 11 days you're looking for as they make their money off the first few days on those passes.

Now, you can take the 8 day passes and bring them to guest services for them to upgrade them to non-exps or add 2 more days - as long as there's more $$ coming out of your pocket the rules tend to say it's allowed.

* Adding a disclaimer as we're not sure on the deal until it's officially released, this is all speculative.

So the real deal in this special is the room, right? Because I can find tickets cheaper through other discount sights.
Are these specials usually only on vacation packages? Or could I just choose to book only the room and get the 3 free nights?
So many questions, so little time to figure it all out!

Pacific is 3 hours BEHIND the east coast..... It's 10:55am here on the east coast means it's 7:55am on the west coast.

Makes sense, thanks for clearing that up! I knew my way was too good to be true!

Yes, the deal seems to be a 42% savings on the room rate for 7 nights (book 4-3free) if I did my math right.

We need to wait until 5pm to see what the deal really is and whether we can book a room only with it. I have APs I'd like to renew so passes are not needed. I also have DVC... so I'm playing with the idea of saving my points for yet another trip if they allow room only bookings.

I did Feb. 12 - 19, 2 rooms at Pop. I only priced myself for the first 4 days, assuming that that will be how it will be done? I hope.

When they offered this deal in 2001 I think it was I did it and it was GREAT!!!!!!!!
