we are staying at the por in july, dh and my dad both enjoy a round of golf.

would i be best to book this before i go or can i do it when im there, and
what one would you recommend?

thanks kellie

My DS and DH played at Palm, Magnolia and Lake Buena Vista courses when we were out in October.

They enjoyed all three, but said the 2 championship courses were quite difficult (and my son is a 6 handicapper). Buena Vista is a lovely course, it surrounds the Disney Vacation club resorts of Saratoga Springs and Old Key West and we saw loads of wild life as we drove round.

Hope this helps !!

I've played Osprey Ridge and Palm.

I'm a 'for fun' golfer at best and these courses are very difficult, but beautiful and great fun to play. I think of the two I prefered Osprey.
We didn't book before we went for either course. I guess it depends whether you have a specific day and time in mind and what time of the year it is. I'm sure you would get a round of golf in somewhere if you are flexible.

As Sue says, you do get to see a nice assortment of wildlife as you go round.

was planning a game myself (there in august) - not really bothered about which course, any-one know the situation with single players though;)

I have played all the courses many times. Lake Buena Vista is in my opinion the easiest, and Osprey Bridge is probably the hardest. I would definitely suggest making a tee time in advance as it gets quite busy. Being that you are going in the summer, if they play after 10am, the green fees usually go down considerably, like half price.

And to the above poster, as for singles, you will be guaranteed to be paired with someone. We usually only have a twosome and we are always paired with at least one additional person. Thats the spirit of the game though, enjoy:)

I have played all of the Disney courses & found them to be very good indeed. My favourites are Palm & Magnolia as they both appear on the PGA Tour & its nice to watch it on TV & think i birdied that hole.
My brother in law have played with singles on a number of occasions. If there is a 2 ball you will be added to their t-time to make a 3 ball. Apparently it happens a lot at Disney as it gives aduts a break from the kids. You can hire clubs & shoes if you dont want to take any.

It will be really hot and humid during July so tee times are usually not difficult to get. I believe they charge more earlier in the day before things start to broil. All Disney courses are beautiful. Typically one is closed every summer for refurbishment.
