Disney Gives Us the Warm Fuzzies - Take Two. TRIP REPORT HAS BEGUN! 1/20 Pg. 92

I've never had a Cobb salad... I eat a lot of salads, usually garden salads with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, etc. I like most of the bad stuff you can put on salads too- croutons, bacon, cheese... Can you describe the famous Cobb salad to me??

From allears:

The Cobb salad was invented when owner Robert Cobb raided the refrigerator seeking a midnight snack for theater magnate Sid Grauman.

Our Famous Brown Derby Cobb Salad - with finely chopped greens, turkey breast, egg, bacon, tomatoes, crumbled bleu cheese, avocado, chives and Cobb dressing

LL and Jen- 5 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So excited for you guys. I know what you mean about the packing overwhelming you. I have a HUGE pile of stuff just shooved on top of the suitcase. Don't even know where to start. Keep remembering things and adding them to my list. Thank Goodness for no baggage fees! With the weather all over the place and diapers and snacks etc, we need a lot of luggage!

Your sneaks are cute Leslie!! Smart job taking your old, trusty pair too. I should've done that for our trip in 07. Why did I think new shoes would be ok for the duration? :sad2:

After I bought the Micky mouse crocs, I wore socks with them cus I wasn't used to the bumps. At that point I didn't care what a dork I looked like in capris, and socks with crocs. Never got blisters, so maybe the socks helped? Good to know that is what caused your blisters in May. I have the same pair of Mary Jane-ish crocs that I think I saw you wearing in one of your pics. So maybe I won't be packing them for this trip....

I've discovered Privo's, an offshoot of Clark's. They are super comfy shoes but not Tennis shoes per se. I'm bringing them as a back up. After so many days in sneakers, it feels so good to get into something else! I found mine at the Clark's outlet on sale! Even better! :woohoo:

All y'all's food is making me drool. I'm gonna run out of snack credits trying all this new stuff!

Jen- :lmao: @ Scotchguard. That's awesome. I always forget to do that kind of stuff. I'm thinking we need a picture of the packed MP once you're there. :goodvibes

:lmao: Uh oh! She's pricing out trips. I know as soon as I get back I'll have that pricing out disease again. I really want to goon a tripw ith Marc but I don't know if we'll swing going to Disney or not.

I shouldn't even be allowed near that website, we're going to look at a house tomorrow. :rotfl2:

That Cobb Salad.

Yum. Yum. Nom.

I looove Cobb salad, but leave the avocado off :) You guys are sooooo close..I am so excited for you! I'm beginning to think my attitude toward packing is too laid back though..I downloaded the "Ultimate Packing List" and my mouth dropped open! :lmao: Just looking at it made me stressed out!

 party:  party: 4/5 Day dance!!

LL and Jen-Guess what I found today??? I was at the thrift store and bought this huge bag of stuffies because there was a Mickey in there (dressed like a Musketeer-so cute) and when I unpacked it there is this little lamb that is praying and when you squeeze her she says a prayer (Now I lay me down to sleep). She's not in the best shape but she made me think of you guys!
Your trip is getting sooo close!:cool1:

That Cobb Salad looks amazing every time I see it. Drool. Someday we'll get to Brown Derby!!!

I really think it's doable and I like the symbolism of it. In May I was barely hobbling around in one park each day. If I have the stamina and ability to hit up all four parks in one single day that means I've come a long way in this whole weight loss. I like what that means to me if that makes sense.

For Magic Kingdom I am thinking either Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Mickey's Philharmagic. I even like the idea of watching the 3PM parade if I can make it there by that time.

Jen suggested TTC or Carousel of Progress, I like those. But I think I'm just going to go where my fancy strikes.

Totally makes sense about the symbolism!!! :thumbsup2 I love the idea even more for that fact! Very cool.

I was thinking the TTA would be a good one, it's a sitting down ride and rarely has a line. I really like it too. ;)

I like the idea of catching the parade if you can as well. Are they keeping the same "Celebrate" parade this year? I don't recall reading if they were changing it or not....:confused3

I thinking I might scotchguard my hoodie too LOL Maybe I'll just pack the can of Scotchguard with me too...

:rotfl2: you are too funny!!!!!!!!! I think you should bring it with, and take pictures of it in various places along with Nobby. ;)

Pictures of the new stuff please!!!! :goodvibes

5 Days!

One of my favorite things to eat at WDW....

Cobb Salad from Brown Derby!!

CobbSalad.jpg

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!! I can't wait. This is one excellent salad. :cloud9:

Definitely a fave of mine!! I am so going to enjoy eating this on our DHS day!!! I'm also looking forward to walking out into an empty, dark park...let's hope we won't have any issues find the car....I might have had some trouble the last time I left DHS at night LOL!!!

You know what I just realized? I really only have 4 days!! How am I going to get everything finished!?! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

I finally started packing. I go between thinking I have too much stuff and then 5 minutes later I think I have too little stuff. UGH.

I love the Cobb Salad. Can't wait to eat it again in Feb...do you think I can order it as a salad and then again as an entree...:rolleyes1.

Good luck on getting things done before the trip! You can do it.:thumbsup2

I've never had the cobb salad, but man, it looks so good!

You'll get everything done, don't stress. :)

The Cobb salad looks so good! Don't stress! You will get everything done! Then you will be in Disney!!!!!

Oh, I'm totally going on TSM next month! DHS is my dad's absolute favorite park so I really want to do a rope drop and finally get to ride it.

The cobb salad looks SO GOOD. I'd seriously eat at Brown Derby just for that.

:thumbsup2 5 days - the two of you must be jumping for joy!!!!!!! LL - Do remember in September how upset you were when you had to cancel and I told you you would be sooooo excited when your trip rolled around in January. Am I right????????

5 days!!! I am leaving in 2 weeks and in panic mode!
I have booked my late night HBD ADR, is the appetizers dinner Cobb Salad big enough as a meal? I am deciding do I need app, entree and dessert and use 2 TS credits, or pay OOP and get the thins I want Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake:confused3
I went shopping - got new luggage, and got Shampoo bottles :thumbsup2
Could not find a good mini umbrella, or cuddle duds  Maybe it is a sign of warm weather and no rain :goodvibes

Please ship a cobb salad to Texas!! I will be waiting.
I am leaving for Maryland tomorrow, I just wanted to tell you both to have a great trip since I wont be on again until after you are gone. Hope you make lots of magical memories and have a wonderful time. Cant wait to hear all about it!!:yay:

5 days!!!
You'll get everything done.

The Cobb salad looks delicious. I've never had it. I always order the NY Strip. Maybe I need to change it up.
The Cobb Salad is so delicious. They do have an appetizer cobb salad for two on the dinner menu, you could split with someone and still have your steak!

Well Aimee posted the description from Allears below. It's really good. It is finely chopped and when it comes out everything is layered in rows across the lettuce and then they ask if you want it mixed up or if you want to do it yourself. So the picture I had was of it mixed up. I think you can have things left off pretty easily too if you don't like everything.

I found the pin that Jen needs for her backpack:

http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=47190&sid=9062.1263059463

Unfortunately it appears to be a limited edition pin which is highly requested... I don't how good your chances are to find it trading in WDW... :confused3
That would be the perfect pin but I might have to steal it from her. :rotfl2:

Jen must love the clothes that already come with scotchguard! I had a pair of pants like that once and when I went to iron them they melted. Opps. I had forgotten to read the tag that said iron inside out on low.

I vote for taking a big bag and a little bag for the parks. That way you can decide that day.

What's the sense of having the big honking camera if you don't use it? You know you'll miss the camera if you leave it at home.

I also think the four parks T-shirt (or hoodie as it seems the weather is unpredictable down there now) is a must for your 4 park day.

Enjoy!
Hehehe on the scotch guard ironing incident. :rotfl2: I do think I'm going to pack my backpack flat in my suitcase in case I need it. :thumbsup2

I'm not bringing any crocs this time. I haven't bought any because they aren't very supportive for my plantar fascitis in my heel.

I shouldn't even be allowed near that website, we're going to look at a house tomorrow. :rotfl2:

That Cobb Salad.

Yum. Yum. Nom.
:rotfl2: Everything will work out the way it's supposed too!

Don't become obsessed like us with packing. It will only lead to you being stressed out. :rotfl2:

I'm not sure about the parade. I think they still have a different 3PM one, that is maybe a little different than last years parade but I'm not 100% sure.

I love the Cobb Salad. Can't wait to eat it again in Feb...do you think I can order it as a salad and then again as an entree...:rolleyes1.

Sure! Why not!? :rotfl:

I've never had the cobb salad, but man, it looks so good!

It's really good. I'm not a huge salad fan either but this one is so very yummy!
