Disney Gives Me the Warm Fuzzies. January 2010 PreTrip Report. Update 11/6 Pg. 79

Thanks for the picture.....hmmmm.....looks like I might be needing to add one more thing to my shopping list today!!!!
It worked really well!

You know LL, I went back and looked at some of your pictures from your May TR. I definately see the difference and I think you need to start posting before and after pictures every week! :thumbsup2
Thanks MEK! I'm noticing it more and more!

I concur; I haven't seen pics of you for months since I've been gone and you look great, LL!
Thanks Lara! You are all very good for my self esteem!

LL- I read your update last night...Loved it...was just too tired to compose sentences that make sense...

First-you look great in your photo-you can definitely see a difference around the waist...Kudos to you girl...:thumbsup2

Second-your photos are absolutely lovely...we were there several years ago and your photos brought it all back..I.love that bridge where the colonists and British soldiers met...Lovely and sad all at once...I'm sure with no idea that they were beginning the American Revolution...

Orchard House so charming...no temptations in all of those gift shops-huh?

I love history too...(I was a history minor...:goodvibes)

OMG-how cute is that little mobile tea mobile?...I think we need one of those at all historic attractions...

I thought i was the only one who named my GPS---mine's name is Chessie...and he's English :lmao:

Ummm I always wanted to be Jo too...We have a lot of Jos here...I wonder if it means anything?

(You have to get to Plimouth-so cool...:thumbsup2)

Oh-have you ever been to Salem? (once you get past come of the Kitschy stuff-it's really cool...and you have to see The House of the Seven Gables...)
I have never been to Salem but it's been put on the list of must dos!

Marc was talking to my MIL and I guess my BIL actually worked on the Alcott house a few years back when he was in High School. He went to a school in Lexington and was in the construction program and that was one of their projects. Pretty neat!

I really wanted to eat something from the Mobile Tea Room, I tried convincing Marc to get a yummy pastry or something for the sake of the Mini TR but he didn't want too. Party Pooper.

I think I'm all caught up now. 3.0 looks like a lot of fun. I have done Big River at the Boardwalk a couple of times, but it's been so long I don't really remember anything about the food. I think I had a burger one time and I don't remember what the second. I seem to remember it being pretty good though.
As long as you don't have any strong reactions to how awful it was, that is a good sign.

Oooh, Plimoth Plantation is nice. I went for a field trip back in elementary school, and again a few years ago when my friend was down there for a vacation.

I meant to tell you this in my last post -- I can also see the difference in your most recent picture. :thumbsup2 And, if you're interested, pick up "Eden's Outcasts" -- it's a book about Louisa May Alcott and her father. I read it not too long ago and it was really interesting. I am also kind of a history nerd, especially local history, which is why I really like living so near to Boston.
That is one of the books I did pick up! Too funny! I can't wait to read it.

I totally agree with this!! Before and After pictures will be awesome!! I think we should find a picture of us from May and do the exact same pose in January and then we can really compare!!!! What do you think???
We really should do that! It's a great idea!

I'm in!

3.0 looks absolutely fabulous and so do you! I'm so impressed with your attitude and how quickly you've bounced back from the surgery. I'm knee deep in a digital media project on that very subject, it's quite the committment!

I love the pictures of your trip to Concord, I would just LOVE to go there!
Thanks for joining in! I'm doing really well, I'm actually surprised, I thought for sure I would feel horrible for a long time after surgery. But I feel really good. I met with the nutritionist today and she is happy with my progress, she's a little cheerleader and it's really good to have that.

I know it felt great to be out and about. I'd love to visit there! I look forward to future mini-trip pictures, too.

You look great!!!
I wish I lived close to you (or you to me), and when my knee healed we'd go out for some rockin' awesome evening walks and both of us would shed pounds like crazy! You can't much beat talking Disney and dropping pounds all at the same time. When I can walk again, I've got about 60 to get rid of. Too bad all of us Disers don't live close enough to go out on evening walks together.
I really think the Disney walking group would be awesome. That's it! We all need to move closer to each other! :rotfl:

First of all- Happy Birthday!! I totally missed the boat on that one.
I didn't know you could change vehicles on a GPS!! I am totally doing that ASAP. Great mini-TR!!! I love Concord & you had some really nice photos. The broccoli soup looked SO good. I am a soup-a-holic. :rotfl:
You are looking awesome! :cheer2: I agree with MEK about weekly photos. You are an inspiration to me...I'm starting as of right now. I am the heaviest now that I have ever been & I NEED to lose 65 pounds AT LEAST. So thank you :thumbsup2 for being an inspiration to me.
Thank you! You are so welcome. I think the weekly pictures are a good idea, I might have to do that. They also told us that we should keep one piece of our "fat clothing" so that we can keep it and be proud of everything we accomplished!

Just wanted to say Hi! And Happy Belated Birthday! It looks like you have a good trip planned so far. :thumbsup2 We are hoping to go at the end of January/beginning of February if we can save some money. Seems like a good alternative to hot September. Good luck with recovering from your surgery and keep us updated with pics of your progress!

~Beka~
Hey Stranger! Thanks! I'm really looking forward to cooler Orlando weather! :thumbsup2

I just asked Marc if my GPS has a voice and he said " yes, do you want me to turn it on"? :lmao: I don't even know if I have a boy or girl......
Oh, I just asked and he said that I could choose, oh my, I can't wait, I need to check this out!:cutie:
I hope you have a boy!

Oh, maybe you have one with a male Australian voice that sounds like Hugh Jackman!!! Maybe that is why Marc has been holding out on you! :rotfl2:
DROOL. That is what I was hoping for!

Oh be still my beating heart......

If it does, I will need to invest in the exact same make and model! :lmao:

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I have never been to Salem but it's been put on the list of must dos!

I agree with what a PP said about the House of the Seven Gables -- we did the tour last summer and it was awesome. I don't remember much except for my cousin thinking that a painting of a guy in there looked like Shia Labeouf. :lmao: There are a lot of little kitschy shops around the waterfront, but it's fun to poke around there, and there's a few trolleys there that you can ride around to different areas -- it's really interesting to hear about all the different places you pass by. I think we might do a nighttime tour at some point, which kinda freaks me out but I really want to do it regardless. :rotfl: Let me know if you guys plan make it there at some point; I'd love to meet you :goodvibes

LL, when I saw your picture, I thought that there was some difference noticeable, but then I went back to the pictures of yourself at the beginning of your TR and saw that there actually is a lot of difference! I think your face looks much prettier now! You can tell that you are feeling good about yourself! :goodvibes

I loved the report! When we toured New England last year, we thought about visiting those sights, but could not really incorporate them into our schedule. It was nice to get to see them through your pictures now!! :cool1:

Oh, maybe you have one with a male Australian voice that sounds like Hugh Jackman!!! Maybe that is why Marc has been holding out on you! :rotfl2:

OMG- TOO funny!! That is the voice I chose on mine!!! John makes fun of me for it. :lmao:

I don't know how I managed to miss you mini-trip report. It looks like you and Marc had a wonderful time. You look fantastic. I can definitley tell th difference from when I met you a year ago.

Hmmmm....to have a reminder everytime you get into your car of a very good looking Australian named Hugh....I wonder if my hubby would notice the name change or for that matter the voice change LOL

I've been a little busy and not commenting but I'm glad to hear you're doing well post surgery  I enjoyed your pictures from your mini trip. We visited Salem, MA last summer and it was really interesting learning about all the history and checking out the old cemetary.

Marc loves the idea of night tours, he's dying to go on a ghost tour. I get too freaked out though. :lmao:

Thank you so much! I'm feeling really great. I actually bought a few shirts today a size smaller. It was very exciting.

OMG- TOO funny!! That is the voice I chose on mine!!! John makes fun of me for it. :lmao:
I really want a better voice.

Thank you so much!

I so chose the Australian guy and his name is Hugh! :cloud9:
WOO HOO!!

:lmao: I wish I lived closer so I could ride in your car and hear him!
Oh that would be so much fun!

Oh I love Stanley though, he was very nice when I met him.

Thanks. We've been having fun going to the historic places.

OMG-is that possible...?...:faint:

Sorry LL-didn't know you were the unofficial gathering place of the Hugh Jackman fan club did you? :goodvibes
The more the merrier! :lmao:

Let's just say I have a whole new attitude about driving!:lovestruc
:rotfl:

I told DH that I want to go to Concord for a trip in the fall, late September or early October next year. He said he would check into it. :goodvibes

I've been a bit melancholy this week. I've really been regretting canceling my trip in September. I know it's for the best and I know I am going to have a fabulous time with Jen in January BUT I am still a little sad.

The good news is today is 4 Months until Disney! :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:

Plus I've been reading about all the wonderful changes to Fantasyland. All the changes make me seriously giddy. I am so excited about the Ariel ride and all of the new greeting areas and Beast's restaurant. All of it sounds simply fabulous and I just can't wait to see how this all works out, too bad we have to wait 3 years. Have no fear, I've already have my trip planning wheels spinning!! 2012 is the year of my 30th Birthday...think everything will be finished by September 3, 2012? ;)

If you haven't seen the video of the announcement....click HERE.

There is some more bad news though.

I think you should all sit down for this.

Are you sitting?

Deep breath in.

Okay.

The Salmon Polenta is not on the Brown Derby menu anymore according to allears.

Sigh. Now I know that this could be a mistake. I also know that the same Salmon that has been on the lunch menu is now on both lunch and dinner so maybe it's just a mistake. I'm going with it's a mistake. Jen is going to do some covert research in a few weeks for me. I am hoping that if it is indeed OFF the menu that I will be able to bat my eyelashes and beg beg beg beg for them to make it for me.

This has been quite the rambling update but I do have concrete trip planning too!

As you know, we have finalized the list of ADRs. To recap they are...

LL's Solo ADRs
*Kona Cafe - Lunch
*Liberty Tree Tavern - Lunch
(I've gotten rid of Coral Reef for dinner. I've decided to wing both dinners on my solo days)

Jen & LL's ADRs
*Big River Grille - Lunch
*Mama Melrose's - Dinner
*Yak N' Yeti - Lunch
*Jiko - Dinner
*Les Chefs - Lunch
*Le Cellier - Dinner
*Crystal Palace - Breakfast
*Whispering Canyon Cafe - Dinner
*Sci Fi Drive In - Lunch
*Brown Derby - Dinner
Salmon Polenta we mourn thee...:worship:
*1900 Park Fare - Breakfast
*Wolfgang Puck Express - Lunch

Jen and I are obsessive with our food budget. We sit down and we list what we want to order, Jen the Math Guru calculates the total, figures the Tables in Wonderland card discount and adds the tip. This trip while we were picking our meals we were quite focused on the appetizers and desserts. For the most part we both really love appetizers, there are some places where we are just going to order appetizers and share and then dessert. YUM. Jen asked since I'm doing the majority of the Trip Report if she could do a dining report so she's going to do that and it's going to be themed around Appetizers and Desserts Around the World.

So we've got our food budget, now how are we going to pay for it? Last trip, what we did was alternate paying for meals. I paid for a certain amount of meals and then Jen paid for the others, just to make it easier. This worked out well but we've decided to tweak it a bit. Jen had the BRILLIANT idea, so she gets all the credit.

We've decided to put all of the food money onto one gift card which will be in my possession. Jen will send me the money and I'll put it on the card. Therefore, all we have to do is whip out the gift card and our food is all paid for. I love this idea, I think it's going to be so much easier.

When we do the food budget we also have the tendency to over estimate a bit so we came up with a solution to any left over money we might have on our last day. We are going to split the money on the gift card and buy each other a gift at Downtown Disney. I think it's a great idea and it will be so much fun to buy one another a little present on the way to the airport. :goodvibes

Only 32 more days until ADR day. WOO HOO! :woohoo:

Only 122 more days until Disney. Yayayaya! :yay:

Disney Warm Fuzzies.

Jen: The smell inside the bakery in Norway.

LL: Walking around the United Kingdom Pavilion at Epcot.

All I can say at this point is there must be some kind of mistake at the allears site!!!!

Great idea on the gift card for dining! I love the part that you are going to shop for each other with the extra dollars!

LOVE the idea of putting your food money on a gift card! And is it possible the salmon dish is seasonal?
