Disney gift cards!!!!

I bought our first Disney Gift Card today. We are buying them every time we grocery shop to help save for our 2012 trip.

Got a little thrill when I purchased it!!!!

I'm doing that too !! I know exactly what you mean.... you get a little excitement buying one... it means the trip is getting more real !

I just found out today that Kroger is doing 4x fuel points when you buy a gift card..... so I'm buying another Disney gift card this weekend ! If your grocery store gives you fuel points, you might want to check to see if you get any kind of a deal. our special is through Father's day.

I also figure that if I put the cash into the gift cards, I'm less likely to spend it on something stupid ! or non-Disney !

I started doing this, too....thanks to the Budget Board. AND, I passed the info on my friend Nicole, who is going with me in Dec! Disney is gonna wonder why their gift card sales went way up this year!

I'm buying $25 a week.

And like Sydneysmom said, you are less likely to spend the money on junk you don't need. I love this idea. It may be the best tip I have read on the Budget Board.

Me to. I hate shopping, hubby loves shopping so I told him everytime he makes me go to the mall I get to put $25.00 on a gift card. He agreed. In just over a month I have $200.00 in gift cards. Trip in September. He may need to slow down on his shopping.

The only place I have found to buy them is at Kroger. I am sure that there are other places, just havent found them.

Now this may be a dumb question but I need clarification. Are there 2 different types of gift cards? I.E. Disney store and just "Disney" I mean the one they sell at the Disney store. Can that one be used at the parks in WDW? And can they be reloaded? I hope you guys understand my questions. TIA

We live in SC and you can buy ours at Publix and I've also seen them at Walgreen's.

The Disney cards I have been buying specifically say they they are for the parks. I am not sure if you can also use them at the store or not.

One thing I do is tape the activation code to the card itself. I have had issues in the past with cards being paid for but not activated (not Disney-other ones). At the end of my receipt is a small piece of paper that includes the activation code so I just tape that part to it in case I have problems at the park.

You can buy Disney gift cards at the store and they're good at the parks, for resort reservations, online purchases, ticket purchases and in the stores at DW and DL. Here's the link for the Disney gift card website ..... they have TONS of different cards to choose from !!!

I'm a big Disney G C fan!! Unless a promotion is going on at my Kroger store I simply add money to a card by calling DelivEARS ~ 800-362-4533 *you give the CM your credit/debit card info and they mail you the receipt. Last time I did this *a couple months ago* the $$ was on the GC the next day.


I'd rather have a few cards than a bunch ~ however last year I had a ton of $15 cards *Kroger had a promo going ~ buy a 3 pack of $15 get a $5 voucher good on any purchase + fuel rewards.
