Disney gift cards, anyone continuing to fund theirs?

We have funded all of our Disney tripes (and we've had a lot of them) with Disney gift cards, including the one we are going to cancel for late May/early June. I am not concerned about Disney going under, but I don't think we will ever use gift cards in this manner to fund a trip again. We now have a lot of money tied up in Disney and we aren't going to reschedule for this year. I think any purchases for Christmas and birthdays, Halloween costumes, new clothes, new shoes, housewares are going to be purchased from the Disney store.

We're in the same boat here too..... this is actually the first time I've funded our trip w/ Disney gift cards. I thought it sounded so brilliant to buy gift cards through Target for the 5% discount. So our trip was supposed to be the first week of june. We had to cancel and now have $5300 on various Disney gift cards. We're going to rebook our trip for June 2021 as soon as packages are released. For now we're looking at the gift cards as "money in the bank, albeit the Bank of Disney". But our trip was just about paid in full, so this eliminates spending the money and saving for vacation again. it's done. But will I do that again ? Nope.

It's interesting because we have been doing it this way for years. Probably 10 years. And it has always worked out. It's incredibly frustrating to have so much money tied up in gift cards.

There is nothing but a Disney vacation that I will spend my two grand on. That is the only thing of real value for me. No longer have any small kids to buy Christmas for. And my teenager certainly will not wear a lot, if any, Disney clothes. But if they were to go bust, and I had to use it some how, I would try to buy toys from the Disney store to donate at Christmas to charity.
