Disney Gift Card Question

I saw in the Walgreens ad yesterday that some locations have the Disney gift cards. If our store has them, I'd like to get one for each of our boy's Easter baskets with like $10 on them for our upcoming Disney trip. Now can I continue to take that gift card back to Walgreens and add funds or can I do it through the Disney website or is adding funds just not an option? For us, putting it on that card will be a great savings tool if we can just keep adding to them instead of having to purchase another one every single time - that just increases my odds of loosing them!

Thanks for any help!!

I don't think you can add funds (recharge) those particular gift cards.

Read the (tiny) info on the back of the cards to see for sure.

If any schools in your area sell scrip, you can purchase gift cards at face value and receive a credit voucher back. Our school sells scrip and parents can use the vouchers toward tuition, sports or religious ed, and for people who are not parish members, you can apply vouchers toward the purchase of additional gift cards. Check with the schools in your area.

I think the ones sold in stores are for specific amounts: $25, $50 etc.....

Those are the ones I know about.

Cards with a specific value printed on them are usually not "rechargeable."

But, again, read the info on the card, itself.

I have been buying the giftcards at Walgreens for our upcoming trip, when you first purchase them they can be activated from $15 to $500. It does not say on the back of the card if they are rechargable or not and when I called the 800 number it did not give an option to add onto your gift card. I keep our giftcards in a file with our other vacation information. On the Disney giftcard website it says that you can reload giftcards at Disney World, Disney Land and Disney Stores. The cards at Walgreens are the same as the ones you order through the website, Walgreens just doesn't have all the different character cards. We have found Mickey, Mickey and Minnie, Buzz and Woody, and one with all the princesses on it.

Thank you all! I guess I'll take a trip over there and ask to read the fine print! :goodvibes I forgot about scrip - they did that up north but I'm not sure if any of the schools do it here...I'll have to check!

yes this is true. our local grocery store sells them in $25 and $50 amounts. i buy them all the time coz we get money off of gas for buying them! :goodvibes

I'm wondering about these cards also, it seems like such a great way to save for the trip and also get one for each of the kids with their own spending money on it. My question is, can you use them for everything at WDW? Like dinners/gifts/ice cream/tips for the dinners? Or is it limited?

1- can you use them for everything at WDW?

2- Like dinners/gifts/ice cream/tips for the dinners?

3- Or is it limited?

1- Pretty much.

2- Yes/Yes/Yes/Tips? I suppose so. (Not on tips at the MK Barbershop.)

3- Not very.

I saw that yesterday, too! What a good idea to put them in the Easter Basket:thumbsup2 I told my mom that is what I want for my birthday:laughing:

I just visted my local walgreens. The ones I saw are exact same ones my disney store sells and yes you can add more to them but not sure if walgreens can do that or not. I am one of lucky ones who still has a DS I can recharge my card at.

Yes they are good at 99% of places OWNED by WDW. I have used mine to but goofy glaciers at Goofy's candy co, a mickey bar in MK at a cart, pay dinner bill one night including tip ( I have TIW card so tip included automatically).
I hgave bought stuff at World of Disney, paid for BBB also.
