Disney Gift Card Deals

I am really curious to see if GS will get rid of the the gc-gc transactions. I would think it is not a good move for them since more and more games are going digital that means they will potentially loose money. I have never had an issues buying Microsoft gc with a GS gc. I never asked either I just scan the gc and I never has an employee say anything about it.

A memo went out to either the stores or the general managers not to allow gc > gc purchases, so they are definitely aware.

A user on another forum I frequent tried to purchase a $15-$500 Amazon Kindle gift card in which the employee wasn't able to. Not being able to as the system didn't allow it. The user had to purchase multiple $50 gift cards instead, so buyer beware. Gamestop could be slowly taking gc > gc transactions out of their systems or it could be an error of some sort.

I heard about the memo in this thread I am just not sure it is a good move on their part considering were gaming is heading too. They will end up like blockbuster in a few years and cutting their revenue in gc seems like a bad move. I guess time will tell.

Honestly I don't think they make that much in gift card sales. The same gift cards I've seen in stores have been there for months now. If new systems come out that are digital only and not physical, IMO that will be the end of Gamestop. They make most of their profit on the used game market and are #1 in that realm with no other retailer to come close.

Does anyone have experience buying gift cards through Target's self checkout registers? Can you? It seems a cashier needs to scan the card to activate them.

Love and hate this game at the same time!

I decided to type out different scenarios based on doing some today and waiting until tomorrow for a promo. Decided to convert half ($600 of my $1150) today, earn (hopefully) $30 Ebates and $12 Ebay bucks, and hold off on the rest for a possible promo.
Me too

ETA: Darn it - did not get a screen shot! Anyone have one to share?

I bought at self check out when they had the promo where you spent $270 for $300 gift card. Went through a few times. The register just prompted me to scan the gift card and everything was fine. If I need to switch to buying Disney gift cards in store with my Target gift cards, I will definitely use self checkout.

I know I saw 5% for GC on eBay this morning... but then I had to wait a bit to buy my cards. We will see if I get it.

I am guessing even those of us who bought at 5% will only get the 3%. We'd have to put in a ticket for the 5% but in my case, I paid with a GC which makes me ineligible for cash back anyways.

Ah, yes, forgot that the whole paying with a gift card makes it ineligible, and of course I paid with all gift cards. So putting in a ticket would be pointless. What a pain. I would have bought less if I knew it was 3% vs 5%. Oh well.

I'm sorry to ask this question because I'm sure its answered somewhere.

Its been a couple year since I've purchased Disney GC at Target. Do we no longer get the 5% discount using the redcard? I'm trying to follow this thread but with almost 800 pages I'm lost trying to find the info. Thanks!

It did work online but they are currently out of disney GC online. People have said you can in the stores but I have not tried it

Thank you. I have done it in stores in the past, and online. I wasn't sure if they changed the rules since then.

I think you can still get it in the store.

for every 1 person churning there are ten people that are not and those people are using their gift card to buy things that are already marked up! target for example, they lose 5% on the sale of a gift card, but they are gonna sell you an item they make 27% profit on. is churning gonna break them? no. does it have their attention? obviously! you are not supposed to get 5% off unless you use your red card remember? cheers to those who exploited the glitch for as long as they did! and for those who called customer support to complain about not getting the 5% discount when you pay with your gift card... just genius! (im being sarcastic)

They changed it. Darn. And I already bought.
WTH? I got an email saying 'buy today, get 5% on giftcards at ebay'...how is that legal to now be giving only 3%? Aren't they obligated to run their sale for the day, thru Midnight as advertised? I never saw that happen

The email I got early this morning said 3% on gift cards. The click through link briefly mentioned "up to 5%" off.
my page specifically said 5%,I looked at the fine print.... but then did some errands and now.... oh well.
