So...if I purchase Disney Gift Cards via self-checkout with Target gift cards they will be automatically activated and I will get the redcard 5%? What if it is egiftcards-can u self-checkout with giftcards saved to smartphone? Never done this at the store, so not sure how it works.

You will not get the 5% discount in the store if you pay with a Target GC. You will need to use your Redcard for the 5% discount.

You will only receive a 5% discount in-store on the amount that is charged to your RedCard. It looks like, as of today, there is no longer a way to get 5% off of gift cards when paying with gift cards.

I always have problems when trying to pay with an eGC at the self checkouts and I end up going to a cashier to use them. Instead of dealing with cashiers, I print the eGCs out and take them to customer service so that they can be combined on a physical GC. The physical GCs work fine for me at self checkouts.

Does target give the 5% on gift cards purchased in store with your red card? I need to purchase more Disney cards.

My complaint with this is that Target.com really should reflect the B&M stores. So, if you can get an item in store at 5% off, you should be able to get it online the same. Now, I understand fixing the loophole with GC>GC online. But, whether it is a Bluray player or shirt or gift card- if you can get it in store at 5%, it should be the same online.

I'm sure this has already been answered but hard to find lol.

2 things, 1. Are we still getting 5% off Disney cards from target using our redcard? 2. How long do you think they will be back in stock online? I remember last year it took about a week to week and a half to get them back in.

Thanks so much!!

Just some thoughts I am having now that the 5% Target gc for gc is dead.

I do wish that we had self checkout kiosks at my Target. It has been hit or miss when I have tried to purchase eBay or Disney gift cards with Target cards at my local stores. But now that there is no 5% discount online, I will probably do a lot more in store purchases. The 2% eBates is still nice, but seems like less of an incentive for me given that I have to add another item to the order (which I usually pick up in store anyways).

The real money is through eBay Bucks now, but Target is probably still my best option. I won't do Gamestop again after my brush last week. And I am hesitant to try Kmart, since there is only 1 location local to me. If that location won't let me run the transaction, I am stuck. My local Best Buy doesn't stock eBay cards so when I have used their route, my mom in Illinois has had to go in and purchase cards from her local store. She is alright to help now and again, but I just can't ask her to do that several times a month. And in the end, if the train stops, I would rather be left with Target or eBay gift cards over those other retailers anyways.

If you purchase in store, you can still get the 5% off with your Redcard. Purchasing Disney cards online will no longer give you the discount.

...so is everybody fully cashing out their Target gift cards for Disney in case they don't allow GC > GC purchases?

Nope, I am still going to keep churning eBay to Target and back until that stops. I have a long window until my next trip, so I'm not really worried. But I can see those with upcoming trips cashing out.

Screen shot showing 5% for "Gift Cards and Coupons" before the change to the current 3%....

Thanks for the screen shot. Problem being, if we are awarded 3% and if we put in a ticket asking for 5% per screen shot, is there any chance they will void the 3% ebates? If we paid with gift cards (as I did), we technically aren't supposed to get any ebates at all. Crossing my fingers that I get the 5% automatically since it showed that when I clicked through, but not very optimistic about it.

I plan to churn another quarter through ebay. I still get ebates and ebucks that way. However, if there is any wiff of no gc-to-gc, I'm converting.
