Disney Gift Card Deals

So back to the target thing.....

I'm looking at this and I'm making sure I'm following along.

I have two ideas, but I'm not sure if I have it understood correctly, but this is what I'm thinking. I'm really bad at math, so my numbers are small and therefore simple.

1) Buy a discounted target GC from a reputable site, save x% (let's say 4%). $100 GC for $96 (for example). I then go to target.com (it appears I can buy GC from the website) through a cashback site (I have a favorite I've used for years) and get 2% back, paying for the Disney GC with my discounted Target GC. Yes, in this simple situation, I'm "ONLY" saving $6, but ykwim.

Its my understanding that you can't buy a gift card using a Target gift card...but I may be wrong.

Yes you can. In fact I just did that last weekend. Bought a giftcard at Walmart (I get better Visa cashback rewards) then went to Sam's Club and bought Disney GCs using the Walmart GC.

If you do this with an Amex Blue Preferred, it would be about a 12% discount, as Walmart Supercenters are coded as grocery stores.

The rules of the Pharmacy discount state that it cannot be redeemed at Target.com, so I don't think it could have worked no matter what you put in your cart.

I used the 5% Online pharmacy rewards code, it is just for online purchases. I put other things in my cart and it did work, just not on the cards.

I have been able to use target gift cards to purchase Disney cards, they are classified as entertainment cards so it goes through no problem.

Thanks! I didn't realize that Walmart Supercenters were coded as grocery stores for the Amex Blue Preferred. (I only have a few more months to continue earning the 6% with that card.)

Thanks! I didn't realize that Walmart Supercenters were coded as grocery stores for the Amex Blue Preferred. (I only have a few more months to continue earning the 6% with that card.)

You can lookup the MCC codes for a particular store here http://visa.via.infonow.net/locator/usa/supplier/ListLoadAction.do

The Supercenters around me have two codes, grocery for the main registers, and drugstore for the pharmacy. I've never used the pharmacy at Walmart, so I'm not sure if you can purchase giftcards at that register, but never hurts to try (if you have a card that gets better pharmacy cash back that is).

It would make sense that they wouldn't let you use them for VISA/MC/AMEX giftcards, since they can be abused, but not for merchant giftcards.

Awesome! Is this new? I tried at Christmas time and could not get them. I've never been so glad to be wrong. Is it just the $50 denomination? I couldn't get any others to come up in a search.

I actually got I from my friend and she said she received an instore and online one.

I was surprised about it not applying as well, that's why I added another item to see if it would take 5% off that and it did, it even said pharmacy reward, where it lists out the discounts.

I ordered one as a test, was able to get the 5% red card discount, and 4.10% from quickrewards which already posted to my account. I was NOT able to use the pharmacy reward online code I had.

Nope wont work. I quess I will have to wait for a better cash back then 5% on ebates
