Disney Gift Card Deals

Just sharing some frustration:

I think I did a sloppy job of keeping track in the beginning because the numbers are not adding up...I think I struggled with trying to figure out HOW to record transactions and savings, and $ wasn't tracked properly. At some point I'm going to sit down, try to go back to the beginning and track everything again. :crazy2: I *know* I've saved money, but I want to know and to be able to say HOW MUCH money. Plus, I want to make sure that I haven't "lost" or forgotten any gift cards, especially the eBay electronic GCs. Those are SUCH a pain.

OK - thanks for listening! :grouphug:

Winner winner chicken dinner!
Just my $0.02 but if someone is asking a question that has been asked oodles of times before I might ignore it. I'm not sure the sarcasm (of which I'm generally a fan) is very helpful.

And the reality is I don't think the $50s have disappeared before. To my knowledge, they were there but not available online.

Does it cancel the order immediately or does it take a while? I just ordered 6, along with some other items, and the order was accepted.
Honestly I've never ordered more than the limit. IIRC with the previous $100 listing you could not place more than 3 $100 gift cards in your cart (or more than 4 $50). There were people who would try to get around that by placing multiple orders in the same day. Some had multiple orders shipped, some had them cancelled, and some were later banned as "resellers" by target (though we don't know at what volume/frequency accounts get flagged). I believe those who get banned have their orders immediately cancelled whenever they place one but until your order ships it is possible it could be cancelled by target (if it gets flagged for review or something because of the higher # of Disney cards)

From what I can tell regarding the new $100 Disney gift card link on Target.com, it is now allowing a max of 10 cards or $1,000 to be placed in your cart. I took it all the way through to checkout and applied some gift cards as payment but did not actually place an order. The 5% off was applied.

I should point out that I will not be placing an order for that many cards anytime soon with the way Target is loosely applying their definition of a "reseller". This could be disastrous for many, but something to keep an eye on nonetheless. Looking forward to some datapoints! I think a previous poster reported an order for 6.

Oh for goodness sake it was one person in a store, I hardly think this is going to get "the radar" focused on anyone.
Exactly, and if no one else comes in, they will forget about it before the week is out.

If I were to order that many at a time, I think I would definitely include at least $200 worth of other items from the store. Not sure how much I would pay with gift cards.

That's great that they upped the amount at target. Now if only gcm starts selling target gc again that would make it even better. Hoping for another ebucks deal that I'm home for this time incase Ppdg locks up will give me some time. Would really like to get some ebucks this quarter. :D

Won't be helpful for whom?

If you are a newbie with 1 post (yes that was the first post on the board . . . ever), you will need to put in the work to actually be good at this. Reading from post 700, it'll be rather apparent that yes, Target does indeed have cards go out of stock. If you do no research, whatsoever, you'll get burned in card churning.

If you are not a newbie, it is rather apparent that Target does indeed have cards go out of stock (in fact, it just happened a few weeks ago!).

So not quite getting what your major concern is here.

Well, eBay cards disappeared and never came back. The situation is fluid. Your answer was not very helpful IMO. But really it's not a "major concern."

I have a question. If I take my giant jug of change to Coinstar I can get it in a Best Buy gift card. I should be able to buy Disney gift cards, right? The terms are:

I saw Eighty8Keys post above. Maybe I should order online with something small to get ebates too!

Thanks for any advice. :earsgirl:

Okay, so the lil kids and I had a fun adventure cashing our change jar in at the Coinstar machine inside Meijer. We played a little game on the way, taking guesses about how much it would be. I was hoping it would be over $50, so I could get a $50 BB egift card and turn it into a Disney card at BB. Well the machine got stuck, and they had to reset it. When they did that, it printed out a cash voucher instead, but the Meijer manager honored the full cash, no fee rate. So, I ended up with $57 in cash, which I was able to then buy a $57 Disney (loadable from $15-500) right in store at Meijer. No driving, no extra $7 cash floating around.
Thanks for the posters who mentioned Coinstar! I feel like I got free $, but it was my own!

They won't bring them back for online purchase. Never happened within the last few weeks, months, or year. You can go back in the threads and check. Start from page 700 or so. You'll see they've never been out of stock.

I also didn't get that you were meaning to be sarcastic, and I too thought you were misinformed. I think in general this board is very helpful when questions are asked. Yes it can be frustrating when questions are asked which could be answered by reading or researching, but if you don't like the question, I think it makes sense not to answer, rather than provide what appears to be misinformation. All that results in is more questions. Also, I know from experience that many, many people only read message boards, and almost never post. So I don't think you should always assume that because it is someone's first post they are new to the boards (though it is clear the poster who asked about Disney gift cards being out of stock had not been reading or researching).

This is much better than the exchange rate Coinstar gives for gift cards - they most they will pay is 85% card value. I think they charge 11% for coin transactions.

This may not be the place to ask this but..
I am thinking of combining my gc's on the disney gift card site. My trip is not until December 23rd.

How long does it usually take for them to send you the combined card if you want one to take with you? Also once you get that card and let's say you want to reload it with additional cards (if not at 1000 bucks) can you do that once you get the card??

New to this combining thing. I went to disney last october and had 20 different gc's and it was a nightmare trying to keep up with them.
You already got good responses for your post but I wanted to add - I have a card that all the smaller cards get added into. I delete all empties except one. If my loaded card gets lost or stolen I can go to the Disney GC page and transfer the $ from the lost card to the backup (empty) card.

Do you have a spreadsheet that you love? I have seen a few, and I am not really keeping tracking great right now, although I dont even have much in the game right now...but would love to see what your spreadsheet looks like. :)
