Disney Gift Card Deals

I had to call PP to get my account unlocked. I spoke with someone very nice who gave me some information that I'm passing along. Not sure that she knew what she was talking about, but was very nice and told me that almost all digital gift cards are flagging accounts due to fraud. She told me that people are buying the digital cards, then selling the numbers to multiple people, who then attempt to use them. This card then shows multiple attempts at redemption (and 1 successful attempt), so then a claim is filed for money back, either through PP or the credit card company. Here's the big piece of information to take with a grain of salt...she told me they have had so much fraud that they will no longer be allowing you to purchase PPDGC with your PP account in the near future.

Huh? Maybe I'm slower than I thought today, but how would limiting purchasing methods effect fraud? PPDG is SUPPOSED to be a verified seller, so purchasing from them should not make a difference.

If someone resells from that point, PPDG nor the PP account used in the initial transaction should be liable since that transaction was completed successfully.

It has been confirmed on here that BB will accept gift cards in store as payments for gift cards, correct? I just want to make sure before I jump the gun.

It's YMMV. The only thing preventing you is possibly a employee denying you which is 99% unlikely.

@JKalai is right when he says YMMV. Until today, I've never been denied a GC-to-GC purchase at BB. But today, I went into a BB (sadly, the closest to my home) and the cashier asked if I was trying to pay for eBay GCs with (my printed out) BB GCs, then told me I can't do that. I wasn't going to make a scene and left empty handed to the next BB about 7 miles away. The cashier at this other BB took the GCs as payment, scanned them and entered in the PINs, no problem. You might not have 99% luck with your cashier, but BB's POS system will accept GC-for-GC sales (excluding MasterCard, Visa, Amex GCs).

Yeah, it didn't really make sense to me either, just thought I'd pass it along!

I'm sitting on my Ebay cards wondering if it's worth it to buy $900 in BB or wait it out. Do I have time to churn, yes, but do I want to wait forever on these and not make money churning, not really. I just hate going in to BB. I'm so chicken! (And I hate dealing with PPDG too).

I'm chicken too. I figured I'd try a small amount and see how it goes.

Okay, this is weird.

I verified I'm signed on to my Ebay account and my DH doesn't have a paypal account.

I already received my BB PPDG. But the email says, "Hi PapaBelle" instead of "MamaBelle". That's strange, right?

I tried to put my eBay gift cards in during checkout for the BB cards (trying $300 first time out) and it says "Some payment methods aren't available for this order" at the top and near the box where you put in the code it says "We can't apply this code to your order."

Huh!?!

So, I am trying to buy $200 in BB gc. I have loads of Ebay gift cards that are unused but every single one I put in is saying there is nothing left on the card. Just a glitch for now? This seems like a big old mess to sort out if it is more than that. Maybe it is a sign I should stay away from BB. ;/

Are you signed in to your Paypal account?

Has the gift card been used with another eBay or PP account?

Ok, after a triple verification loop, I was able to purchase $400 in GS GC from PPDG. But, after all that verification, it dropped my eBay bonus, so I only got $8. :-(

ETA: All is well, I checked on my eBay Bucks page and it shows the proper $32. Whew!

I have been trying for a while to get the BB gc's with no luck! Have verified at least 8 times and even spoke with them on the phone. My account is unlocked right now so I think I'll try the GS route. I called and they said I could use them there. So, is everyone buying them from GCM like we did the Target ones?

Have you checked My eBay > Summary > eBay Bucks to see if it gave you full credit? I've had the confirmation screen tell me I've only earned the usual 2% amount, but the eBay Bucks link reflected the full bonus amount. If it didn't, you can put in a ticket to eBay.

I've also had the back-and-forth through PP verification drop my Ebates, but not eBay Bucks. I never dispute these missing cash back with Ebates because you're not supposed to get Ebates for purchases made with GCs.

Must have been a customer service rep or supervisor covering for the cashier. They have two different positions for the different reps and the cashiers training is basically just "scan everything, rewards number, take the payment, and place it in a bag with reciept." The only policies you ever learn training as a cashier is the price matching policies which was very simple when I was a rep.

Yes, thank you! It is correct on the bucks page. :-)

Yes, but GS is more YMMV because there is a bigger change you could be denied at check out depending on the area you live in. The district managers are stricter in more areas in others. Try a small amount before throwing everything at Gamestop as you will be stuck with your funds in GS gift cards if denied.

I'm signed in, but I'll try to "switch accounts" and relog in. I've never used the cards. They are fresh from Target (before Target took them down).
