For what it's worth...it's bad enough reading posts from people asking the same question over and over without seeming to bother with reading the thread but on the other hand I can understand why someone wouldn't...there's just way too much clutter from posts rambling on with speculation about Target right now or giving us an hourly or daily update that they converted/churned some cards as well as other things they might do during the day. There are wayyy too many topics going on here inside of the Gift Card topic. I can't help but think it needs it's own sub-board if this is going to continue but I'm not convinced based on what I've read here that people would be willing to do that. That would require possibly reading more than one thread and I think those who seem to have a lot of time on their hands like dropping into one thread and reading everything. If you have separate threads for eBay, Target, GameStop, and whoever else some of this craziness would end though. I know some of you including myself are on here quite often but continuing down this path is likely to just drive people away from here...good people who have good knowledge to share. Some simply don't care about GameStop, kmart, or gas cans so it would be nice if we could somehow trim some of this away or relocate some of it so it's a bit more ala carte.

Whatever the case it's not my intention to make anyone feel bad or embarrass them but the signal to noise ratio is just getting more and more off the charts here and it's just going to lead to more people asking the same question over and over and over again.

I've been thinking that once things get sorted out in the next 2 weeks, we should boil everything here down to 10 posts on one thread, make those a sticky, and start over.

deciding how to turn my target cards online or in store..... are we still earning money through ebates on target orders with another item even without an addition 5% off???
I placed two orders today through ebates for Target, one right after the other and with almost identical office supplies as qualifying items. I receive the ebates for the first order before I got the email from Target that it shipped ( ebay electronic giftcards), Got the ebates inabout an hour. Haven't gotten any notification from ebates on the second order even though it was literally one minute after the first. Strange.

If I order target gc on eBay using ebucks and go through ebates, will I receive credit from ebates? I wouldn't be adding anything to the order.

That happened with my two orders last night too. One ebates credit soon after & one I haven't had any confirmation that it will credit yet.

I was just on ebates website. There is a banner saying there is 5% of gift cards on Ebay. When I look at the ebates listing of items and the percentages it shows gift cards are 3%. Has anyone tried this today and what percentage did ebates give you??

I made a purchase and received a shipment notification, but no Ebates yet. I assume it takes some time. This is only my second Ebates purchase via Ebay for Target, but the first one (during the last promo on Ebates) took several days to post.

That would happen to me - would always get ebates on my first order but never my second. The last time I placed two orders, I ran the first through my ebates account and the second through my hubbies account. Got both no problem.

If there were separate threads for EBay, Target, GameStop, and someone happened to stumble on a new churning method (or any way to get a discounted Dis gc) that did not involve Ebay/Target/Gamestop, where would they post it? This thread may be a little wacky, but at least all info re: discounted gift cards is consolidated in one place. I don't find it exceedingly difficult to skip over posts that refer to something that doesn't interest me.

Gift card churning is crazy though! :thumbsup2

If we have a separate sub-board, you will have people bumping up very old threads with old information asking the same questions. Then when old threads are bumped up, we'll have even newer people asking questions about the old topic. People that are new to forums in general most times don't read the time stamps on the threads. Plus, since this process changes so suddenly and often, you will always want to have the latest information no matter what other info you'll have to sift through.

I don't have Meijer or Kroger in my area, but IMO it's not that much to skim through.

Once this Target fiasco dies down, it won't be as crazy as it has been.

Yeah--there's some random OT that happens in here. But the majority of discussion IS related to saving money through GC churning. We all do it differently based on what stores we have available to us. I could care less about GS or Kmart but that doesn't mean I don't think they should be here because at one point or another those churners usually end up at the same place I am-- be it Target, Ebay, Ebates.

It kind of rubs me wrong to have someone who's relatively new to the thread get disgruntled over the lack of concise data points provided for their money saving benefit :confused3. But maybe multiple new threads would be a hit--there's nothing to prevent you from starting them up yourself and managing them with more guidelines.

Same here! I learn about it all and decide what does and doesn't work for me. I don't care about flipping video games, for example, so I just skip those posts. I'm sure plenty of my posts aren't relevant to others. Plus a lot of us have hybrid approaches to churning. Where would that fit?

maybe start another thread titled "gift card deals" because thats whats happening here. the last 20 pages have all been about target.

I get the online 5% may most likely be done. In store...can you take your Target GC, buy the Ebay GC's and another little item, and expect the whole 5% off (as if you were doing the transaction online)?
Target to Disney even?
Or is the entire RedCard 5% done unless you pay with the RedCard period??
I've read and read and read again the last day worth of posts, I follow this board religiously and even post sometimes but am still a bit confused.
I also use Swagbucks for GC's but may turn to just either Ebay GC's or PayPal GC's when I redeem, instead of Target.
Ugh. Just when I get this thing down pat, it gets really really wonky.

For in-store Target purchases, you only receive the 5% discount on the amount that is being charged to your REDCard.

You can split your total to pay some by gift cards and some by REDCard, but only the portion on the REDCard will get the discount.

It appears there is no longer any way to purchase gift cards with gift cards and get 5% off from Target.
