Disney Gift Card Deals

I read on the Disneyland thread ppl were able to use it at Ghirardelli at DCA (no Disney gc allowed there) for ice cream. However I want to say I read someone was also denied. I will still use it either way but I just plan to ask before I promised the kids one way or another on chocolate squares versus ice cream.
I will be happy to use it for either.

Anyone know how long it takes to get a GC from MyPoints? I'm looking for times on both eGC and physical to compare. I have enough for a $50 AMC or Landry's but thinking about holding out for a Target, WM or gas card.

My plan going forward is to utilize more fuel discounts at Safeway. We usually spend about $180 a month in fuel which isn't too crazy. We have 2 vehicles with 16 gallon tanks and as much as I don't want to I am going to start bringing gas cans when filling up. I think I should still be able to keep decent discounts going even losing the 5%.

I haven't thought about saving through Safeway's fuel rewards since we fill up at Costco and Costco's gas is usually 20-30 cents/gallon cheaper than nearby gas stations.

But how would Safeway work? We get points for shopping there anyway, but haven't used them (usually we let my in-laws use the rewards before they expire). The Safeways near me don't have gas stations and Chevron (where we can use the rewards) limits it to 20 cents/gallon. So I'm thinking this is something that won't really benefit us, unless I'm missing something.

I did a Regal egift card and got it immediately.

Just wondering, didn't Target always not allow 5% off on gift cards but because Disney gift cards were considered "entertainment gift cards" it was allowed or was that just buying a gift card with a gift card? I remember something letting Disney gift cards slide under the radar because they were considered entertainment cards and not gift cards but I can't remember exactly what.

Everything but target gift cards and prepaid visa type cards got the 5% off. Maybe the entertainment card distinction was relevant to certain coupon offers (pharmacy rewards)???

I'm sure this is answered already but I've searched and can't find the answer.

Can I use Staples gift cards to buy Disney gift cards on Staples.com? Thanks!

...so is everybody fully cashing out their Target gift cards for Disney in case they don't allow GC > GC purchases?

I cashed out the $600 I have today & will cash out my other $600 when they arrive. I'm not interested in losing my investment & will just wait to see what happens.

Kroger Fuel Points: Leason Learned
I noticed on my receipt the other day that something was off with my fuel points - like by 1000 (=$1 off per gallon). I'll spare the details of my research, but Kroger no longer combines monthly points. It gave me the option of "using the full amount" (which would be 1000 points) at the pump, which I did, but it pulled from my April points instead of March. The real kicker is that I have 997 points left for March. :rolleyes2 So 3 points shy of $1 off. And, I don't know if I'll have an empty tank by the end of this month which means even less savings realized. So, the lesson for me is to really pay attention to my points as it gets closer to the end of the month and make sure I know exactly what I have left before I make my choice of how many points to use.

I feel your pain! You have to tell the pump "to use a different amount" if you want to pull from the previous month and that month's balance is lower than the current month. I bet if you call them and explain the error, they will move your March points to April for you. I have found Kroger customer service to be wonderful!

Thinking it is time to buy gas cans also. My van only holds 17 gallons. If dh & I fill up together, we can almost max out the 35 gallons but that is very hard to coordinate.
We are the same way. Closest Kroger to us is 20 miles since we live out in the country. DH has to get his hair cut tomorrow, so that's when I meet him after work to fill up both vehicles. I may get some extra gas cans though. They will be put to good use!

That's a thought! Thanks for the suggestion

Yes, they will do a one-time move. It's worth it if it's a lot of points. I just did it a couple months ago.

Doesn't sound like that would be the best route for you then. Our closest Costco is about 40 minutes and all of our SW have gas stations so it's pretty convenient. The downside is that they offer fuel promos (like 3-4x) about half as often as the Kroger chains do. Unfortunately I can't take advantage of Kroger because ours is actually "Fred Meyer" which does not qualify for any CC bonus's (doesn't categorize as a grocery store). Our Fred Meyers also do not carry Target GC's. I wonder if they have Ebay though :confused3? I guess it doesn't matter because losing 5% from the CC bonus is a big loss. So Safeway for me! Safeway does allow up to 1$ off per gallon at Chevron/Texaco.

Also of note is that Safeway maxes out at 25 gallons, Kroger chains are 32 (I think--I have seen 35 some places)

Thanks. I figured as much.

I haven't decided what to do yet.
I'm at about 27% savings overall. I've got $550 in target of it earmarked for DLR tickets and another few hundred in target I've been using in turn around with target-eBay-target going up by $50 increments and gaining increased savings because of the 5% compounding itself. Since that's at least on hold I'm trying to decide if I want to cash out what I have to Disney and purchase eBay gc at the 5% when they have ebuck promos.

However, if I keep what I have and continue to churn it as ebucks promos come up, I can basically skim transactions to max out ebucks for the quarter without putting more into the oop investment. The only hitch would be if Target did ban gc for gc purchases which again is why this is all a roll of the dice. I'm guessing the second that happened the Internet would be abuzz. Granted I can make do with either in eBay or target gc's as an exit strategy in the event that happened. What I plan to do is figure out a base dollar amount to keep in the target/eBay cycle that maximizes promos between our 2 accounts within the max terms of eBay earnings/spending and as I increase over that amount automatically convert to Disney.

I saw someone put eBay removed to $5k gc purchase max every 6months? So now it's only the $1k per day per account and $500ebucks per quarter earning limits? If so that's great.

I cashed out for a Target eGiftcard and had it within minutes.
