Disney Gift Card Deals

So, if I have an early November Disney trip planned, how much should I invest initially to be able to accrue $3000 by the end of October? I'm just starting out & still trying to learn, but I have my Target red card now & I have ebucks & Paypal ready & I've set up swagbucks, iconsumer, ebates, topcash & mypoints. Could someone give me some starters? Thank you so much for your time to help me!!

It's possible to get close to that with a solid initial investment, adding income from GPT sites like Swagbucks and Perk, and really being on top of where all your virtual money is at all times. But as others have recommended, start slow until you have a feel for the process. A wrong turn (for example, buying a Disney Store Gift Card instead of a Disney Gift Card) could render your efforts useless or worse. Spend 30-60 minutes a day reading back through this thread for at least few months worth of posts will really help you get a feel for how the process works and give you some pitfalls to watch out for and tips how to maximize your efforts and money. Within a month of dabbling, you should know how to calculate how much you'll make on each churn, and then can estimate how much time you'll need with the money you have or how much money you'll need with the time you have to reach your goal.

It sounds like you're getting a handle on the whole process - I think you'll do fine. :thumbsup2

Is anyone using their churning profits for anything else besides Disney trips?

We need to replace several appliances (clothes washer and dryer and dish washer) in the near future. We would most likely buy from Sears. Those 15% off Sears gift cards are looking pretty good to me. Especially if I could buy them during a bonus ebucks time.

I'm using my churning for Aulani this summer and for Best Buy to get my DD's macbook for her high school graduation. That's why I felt comfortable buying some of the Best Buy that had the bonus ebay card a couple of weeks ago. Even if I couldn't convert them to Ebay or Disney, I could definitely use them at Best Buy this summer.

Breaking News!

Per an article on SlickDeals, eBay has removed their $5,000 "6 month rolling" restriction.
:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
Shut the front door, open the back, pack up the kids, and get the GCs ready!!!

That could result in some serious eBucks! Imagine how many times you could churn in one day!
No more then $500 in 1 quarter though. That limit still exists.

I do wonder what their reason was for paypal dropping the rolling limit, though.
Sales are way up thanks to GC sales. I am willing to bet they saw a slow down and researched why, GC use limits. Might be worth buying some EBAY stock soon. I bet they have a good quarterly earnings report and upgraded forecast.

It does sound like a lot of churning to get enough through target to earn $500 per quarter.
It is easier than you think. I went through $10,000 in 2.5 months.

Curious---Will the PayPal limit being lifted change your thought process on how you order?

I don't think mine will but I'm doing this on a much smaller scale than many of you. I wasn't sure I'd even meet the 6 month limit but have enjoyed following this thread & learning from everyone.
Yes, now there is no reason, through Ebay, why I can't make a purchase everyday. No need to wait for 5x offers.

Consumer goal is to make the same amount as before, but they have to churn twice now to make the same amount of money. Twice the churns is twice the profit for Ebay. Although it seems great at first glance and everyone is rejoicing, I am not convinced this is "better" ~ for us. I was making $500/quarter before. I'll still make $500/quarter. But I'll have to do more work now with higher volume and lower margin.
You will actually make more if you make more purchases thanks to rebate sites and redcard discounts.
Assuming 5% Redcard/2% Ebates at Target/1% Ebates at Ebay
If you were to churn $1000 with a 5x promo, you would get $180 in rewards/discounts. You could only do this 5 times before you hit your $500 max EB$.
But do the same thing at 2% EB$ and max out at $500 EB$, you would get $100 in rewards/discounts Multiplied that by 25 times, and you would get $2500 in rewards/discounts per quarter.

It's changing my strategy. After burning through my son's $5K limit in six weeks, we had planned to only do 5X offers in the future, but now I think we'll take advantage of anything 3X and above. My concerns are that they'll reduce the number of 5X offers or that they'll exclude gift card purchases from the bonus offers.
So what if they do. We will still max out at $500

GCM does not run Target on sale very often at all. Maybe someone here has kept track but I can only think of a couple of times and those were mostly around the Christmas shopping time. Ebay ebucks offers are far more often. At least a couple a month and it has seemed like almost weekly lately. But not everyone receives every single offer.
They had a special twice in the last 2 months.

Doesn't giftcardmall's negative feedback scare anyone else? Do you still get ebucks for buying from individual sellers?
Avoid individual sellers unless they have an impeccable rating and have sold many many GCs. There are a lot of GCs purchased with stolen credit cards.

I would if I haven't completely paid for all my planned trips.

You can buy giftcards for Best Buy on EBay with no shipping through Paypal.

Flipping used video games with trade in values is a huge thing with lots of profit (I've made $150 in a single day with only $30 out of pocket.) It's a lot of work, but the return is great. Since so many companies do the trade ins with video games, one company will have certain promotions (30%-50% more trade in credit) while one retailer will have that same game on sale or a B2G1. Flippers will buy the sale game and flip it to another retailer for a profit. With Gamestop and Best Buy, they often have great promotions and a lot of glitches in their system. Once, Target was doing a certain promotion with trade ins getting 3X their trade in value. One game that was on sale at a Best Buy for $15, was trading in at Target for $54. Then with that trade in credit you can buy gift cards (Disney, Gas, Food, Ebay, Amazon). Gamestop is starting to slowly catch on and not let people purchase gift cards with trade in credit though, but some stores will let it slide.

You'll have to watch and jump on certain values same day as they can change them and often do daily. Theres even a forum for this (cheapassgamer.com) with people doing spreadsheets etc. for the maximum return. You'll also have to read through lots of posts through different threads for people that aren't on the computer as much.

Anyways... there's my long post for people that don't know about flipping games. You can profit somewhat, and it can payoff if you're looking to budget and willing to do the extra research. Great alternative way to still flip if they're running a good promo and if you're waiting for a Target GC in the mail.

Sure, I agree w all that. This is just increasing your volume of transactions. You still get your $500 from Ebay. As it was last week, say you run $5000 thru once at 5X. Now without limits, maybe you run $5000 thru 3 times to get the $500, but you make way more on the Target side. You make more overall because of the extra churns. BUT, you've now had to churn at Target 3X your previous volume, increasing your chances of getting banned. And with many people running 3X the volume thru Ebay, the demand on sellers like GCM will be higher. When demand is higher, prices go up. You're assuming GCM keeps selling an unlimited supply of gift cards, and that the 3X demand on their volume would not leave them either out of stock all the time, or raising their price. And awareness at Target of selling so much volume in cards to GCM will be higher. So with higher volume and more churns, we can expect either less supply available at GCM, or higher prices, or even the added volume to work its way back to Target on the back end where they stop selling so much to GCM. This will have ramifications. For Ebay, it's all good. Higher volume, charging ~12% or whatever to GCM on every transaction. They are getting a larger cut. But when they get a larger cut, someone else is losing money. Point is when you open the gates on the volume, you will see downward pressure on the margin for the same volume. We'll see this play out in the next few months. It will not surprise me if by next trip, I'm churning some yet undiscovered way, just like my last trip did and the trip before that. Every time the game keeps changing.

Had a good stretch but just got my $200 eBay giftcards through target canceled. Think I'm going to lay low and just by through the store. Was also thinking I could try online using a different email and no red card discount. Wonder if those would get canceled too?

I purchased a $200 eBay gc yesterday through Target & got it. Not sure why they cancel some & not others.

I guess it really does vary from store to store, or things must have changed in the last year. I traded in our old Nintendo Wii and a bunch of games last year, and the sales clerk encouraged me to take the trade-in credit and expressly told me that I could use it on any one of the gift cards they sold. I ended up taking that trade-in credit to a different store and bought a Shell gas card -- no problems -- which paid for our drive down to Disneyland.

So, has anyone come up with a standard calculation of what amount to invest to receive a certain amount in what period of time?

It's possible to get close to that with a solid initial investment, :thumbsup2

And when you say a solid initial investment...any idea how much $ that might mean? I don't want to start too slow, but I honestly haven't a clue how much a good initial investment would be for a $3,000 trip... TY!

I posted earlier this week about all my Target orders with eBay gift cards getting canceled. Four orders in total. But two orders without any gift cards went through just fine. I know I said I was going to wait, but with the 4x promo still going on at the time and the news that the PayPal gift card limit was gone, I couldn’t resist trying a small order of just one $100 eBay card (nothing else, so I didn’t get Ebates on this order, but did get a discount with Red Card set as default and paid with GC). Lo and behold, it went through! I followed up with another order of 3x $100, and that went through too. People have reported problems with orders containing $200 cards. All my canceled orders included $200 cards. Perhaps wait a few hours and try an order of just $100 cards.

Yeah, It's been starting to become implemented in stores within the past month or so. One Gamestop I went to would not let me use any credit whatsoever for a GC. But when I went to another Gamestop, the employee let me use it as long as it rang up in the system. He also informed me that the company was eventually planning to take it out of the system not to take credit. I guess a company wide memo went out. AFAIK, it's still working in their POS systems.

Everyone does their churning differently, so there is no standard calculation. You really need to figure out your own pathway and base your calculations from that.

Plus, although I'm new to this specific type of churning... it seems like the ebay bucks promotions/bonuses are random and are a big part of the profit, right?

I am currently holding $1600 in Target cards. With the ebay limits lifted (and since I'm nowhere near $500 for the quarter), should I just start churning them immediately to get the Target 5% and the 2% ebucks? What is the highest you feel comfortable doing per day? Also. I want to be ready for the next extra bucks promo. Tell me if my thinking is right or wrong please. My plan is to always have a few hundred dollars available in Target cards in case of a good promo, however, if a great extra bucks deal pops up I have to buy my ebay e-cards from Target.com which sometimes takes several hours to activate. I risk GCM selling out of Target cards, right?

Yes.. I think your thought process is good. Since you really want a good promo, but you also want to start churning, maybe do half and half? You have $1600 now, take maybe $600 or $800 and go through GCM? And then you have the other left over for a eBay bucks promo. In the short time I've been doing this I think eBay bucks are released like Tuesdays/Wednesdays.. someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

Anyhow if a bonus offer comes out Tuesday you'd be able to take advantage of it, but if you guy cards through GCM now/this weekend, there's no way they'd be here for an offer next week.
