Does it ever take more than the 4 hours for the eBay gift cards to be activated?

It can take up to 24 hours.

I thought it said it can take up to 24 hours to ship, but then once you get the codes email, they can take up to 4 hours to activate. I have not had any go longer than the 4 hours, tho they do usually take between 3 and 4 hours. If they're taking a little longer I would not sweat it, but if you've had them for 6 hours or so I'd be on the phone.

I've got one order at status "Created" all day today. 6 hours. Sigh. Two went thru fast, one sitting there. It seems pretty random.

I get that a lot. Sometimes I'll just clear out my cart and go back in several times and eventually it works. I usually cause it when I try to do too big of an order at first, and try to cram 5 or 6 ebay codes on. Then, it blows up, and I can't get half of them to work until I do a smaller cart.

Yesterday I had a couple of returns at walmart. I decided to buy 2 disney gift cards with them. When I got home I tried to transfer them on the disney gift card site. I have never had a problem before. I put the $50 one in and it worked just fine, went to do the $25 one and it just kept saying invalid. I called the number on the back and she looked it up and said it had a balance of $25. She said it must have just been a problem with the access code!?!?! She said there wasn't anything I could do to transfer the balance but that it was activated and usable at the store or park. Today I logged into my gift card account and it was loaded on there. I transferred the money and threw the card away! LOL! This has never happened before and I thought it was so weird. Anyone ever experience something like this?

I had one like this too that I purchased from Lowes. I couldn't load it to DVA or combine with other cards. I ultimately just used it in the parks and it worked fine. I'm glad yours did credit.

I just checked on online on eBay to make sure they were good and they do show up as having the proper amount. So I guess I will try to clear the cart again like you suggested. If I still have trouble who do I call though? eBay or target where I bought them from?

Doesn't Paypal charge a fee for using a CC? Seems like a hit or miss.

Mr Infinity is correct. Only the seller incurs fees when buying on ebay.

You're not bumping up against the $5K limit are you? I had some issues yesterday too. Try cancelling out of everything and starting over. This is what I did, and it worked.

I had this issue a few weeks ago. I can't remember exactly the phrase it was giving me but I think it was the exact same thing. For me, it turned out that my Paypal was not yet verified. I think there's a $500 limit with an unverified account. I had purchased $300 a few days prior and was trying to buy more, any time I bumped against the $500 limit it wouldn't allow me to use my GC's. A quick call to Paypal and I got may account verified and I was good to go.

Target would be the company to call -- they're who you bought from. I think they'll cancel the order, invalidate those redemption codes, and refund you the money, then you can re-buy. But I'd give it time first, will probly sort itself out and not have to call.

You're not bumping up against the $5K limit are you? I had some issues yesterday too. Try cancelling out of everything and starting over. This is what I did, and it worked.

No, I ordered $400 yesterday and it worked fine. That was my first gift card order from eBay although I have had an eBay account for a long time. Today I was trying to buy 3 of the $150 cards. So, the total would still be way under the limit.

I called Paypal and they say I can input my SSN to verify instead of the bank info. However, I've done that but it's still not working.

I actually got the verify code on my credit card very quickly. Entered that on PayPal and it says restrictions are lifted. Tried to go on eBay - still getting same message and can't use the two e gift cards I got today.

To get the $500 limit raised to $5000 you have to link a previously unlinked bank account... Credit card won't cut it, they want your bank info. I had credit cards on mine for years, did not work till I linked up a bank.

So I had made the call after 12 hours, CS would not help me until 24 hours had passed because they said that it can take up to 24 hours to be registered. 2 hours later, they were good.

That is why I say it can take up to 24 hours.

What code are you referring too? I've verified my phone, now just waiting for my bank to verify.

I've just got a minute to check in, with a question and just responding to the posts below for the moment. First, my question is, you can buy Disney gift cards in store with a target redcard and get the 5% off at the counter, correct? I called to ask a question and she said no, but I think she was wrong. I know I've done it before, but she said it doesn't work for gift cards. Just checking with you guys that it is supposed to work, right? I do recall others saying they've had issues and plenty say it works. Just checking again, lol!

Not a bad idea. Paying cash at Ebay, this would not count against your $5k limit, right? That's only when paying with Ebay certificates? Don't forget you can combine Ebates (1%) or MrRebates (2% if paying cash). So your 10% is really 11% or 12%.

Good catch -- Here's the terms...

* You can earn up to $100 in eBay Bucks on any single eBay purchase. This means that if the eBay Bucks earn percentage is 2% and the purchase price (excluding tax, shipping fees) is in excess of $5,000, you would be restricted from earning any more eBay Bucks for that purchase beyond the $100 eBay Bucks purchase earn limit.
* You can earn up to $500 in eBay Bucks for all qualifying purchases during a given calendar quarter. This means that if the eBay Bucks earn percentage is 2% and the total value of qualifying purchases exceeds $25,000 during a given calendar quarter, you would be restricted from accumulating any more eBay Bucks beyond the $500 eBay Bucks quarterly earn limit.

The $500 per quarter is pretty restrictive. Given this I'll hold off on using Ebay bucks for direct buys and save it for churn. Basically if you intend to hit your $5000 limit in a short time at 5X, that will use up your $500 right away, then you can't do more till the next quarter. At which point you could switch to your alternate PP account and run up the $500 again. If you buy-in direct, you could burn that $500/quarter in no time. So I would only do this if I had Ebay bucks left to be earned in the quarter, but had hit a brick wall w/ regards to any further gift cert spending due to the Paypal limits. Maybe this is even incentive to have that 2nd Ebay account, which I hadn't previously seen a need for.

I decided to try a ticket and they credited it for me , so another $9, so $99 on that with the ebay bucks! So, with the quarter only being thru March, and doubtful to get a lot of ebay buck promos, I think, at least this time, I could buy some extra with the cc. Plus, so far on my $5000 limit, I'm at about $1550. If I do the cc today, I'll be at about $200 then in ebay bucks after, not sure how to check the exact amount, probably just a little more than that. So would still have another almost $300 I could earn by the end of March. Dang, why do they keep imposing limits, I want the sky to be the limit, lol! I think this should work out okay for me at this time, and still churn the $900 I have a couple two three more times maybe with a high ebucks promo.

Yes if you pay with your Red Card. In the old days you could combine Pharmacy Rewards and get 10% off but they stopped that. Some reps don't know you can do this, but if you just buy them, and pay w your Red Card, you'll see the discount right there on your receipt. With other GCs like Target or Visa, it will not work.

So, with the quarter only being thru March, and doubtful to get a lot of ebay buck promos, I think, at least this time, I could buy some extra with the cc. Plus, so far on my $5000 limit, I'm at about $1550. If I do the cc today, I'll be at about $200 then in ebay bucks after, not sure how to check the exact amount, probably just a little more than that. Sounds good to me... Yeah if you have extra Ebucks to earn, I would make a point to get all $500 by March 31. Your $900x3 would be $270 if you get more 5X... but if it's the same $900 you're churning over and over, the probability of getting 5X in 3 separate weeks in March is low.
