Last fall, I used GCs instead of paying cash. Here's what I did:For those of you who use your Disney gift cards in the parks to pay for smaller things (as opposed to using them toward your hotel or something), do you prefer to combine your balances into one larger one and use that one for all purchases, or keep your cards separate? I hate having to keep track of several cards and their corresponding receipts (on the rare occasion I do have to return a merchandise item... it has happened and you do have to have the exact card you used), but conversely, the thought of potentially losing EVERYTHING if my entire balance is one card freaks me out. What do you all do?
- I have 2 Disneygiftcard .com accounts. That allows me to store up to 10 GCs digitally.
- I took ONE Disney GC with a balance of $0 with me and another for the person I was traveling with (my sister for one trip, my husband for the other).
- Once I arrived in Disney, I went to the website and combined what I thought that I would need for the day in increments of $50 (that's how much the each of the stored cards was worth) from one of the stored GCs to the physical GC that I had with me.
- I also took pictures of the reverse side of several GCs with my phone. When I ran out of digital GCs, I deleted those cards and loaded the ones in the pictures to the Disneygiftcard .com accounts. Then I combined them with my physical GCs.
