Disney Gift Card Deals

If you click on eBay while in ebates (mobile app doesn't seem to show it) it will give a breakdown of cash back amounts on various categories but gift cards are only 1% cash back usually through eBay

Usually, ebates is "up to" a certain amount for eBay but gift cards remain at a lower percentage, typically 1%. It is up to you as to whether you go ahead and purchase from eBay or wait for a promo. Kind of depends on how much time you have. I am waiting even though my trip is in April.

Okay, thanks guys, I appreciate it! I was kind of wondering if it was a great deal or not, figuring not, or more dissers would be talking about it here, lol. I just tried to click on Ebay while in ebates to see what it say, but not seeing anything where it shows how much they give back for various categories. Where would I look to see this, as I must be missing it?I do have some time to wait, my trip isn't until Mother's Day weekend in early May.

Have to use a computer doesn't show on mobile device settings

I just checked gift cards are 1%

Does anyone know if Disney GCs can be used on Castaway Cay? It states at their Theme Parks and on their cruises, but what about the actual island gift shop? Also, can Disney GCs be used to pay a cruise's tips for Mousekeeping and one's wait staff when exiting the ship? Pretty sure I read somewhere one could pay with GCs at the service desk of the ship for gratuities of wait staff/Mousekeeping. Sorry, I had a notebook full of researched tips for my upcoming cruise, and it gotwet/ruined. Thanks in advance.
We used a gift card (a BIG one, haha) to pay all of our costs while on our cruise. That includes tips. They had us bring it to the desk the first day to put on file. I don't know about Castaway costs, as we didn't buy anything there.

Thanks for checking, Patrick, appreciate it as I'm not seeing it. I am doing it on a computer but not sure where to look after I click on the Ebay thing at Ebates and the ebay page opens. But, with 1%, I think I will wait to see if something comes out for ebay bucks soon. Thanks again!

I pay for everything on the cruise including tips, excursions, and souvenirs through gift cards deposited in my DVA (you can pay the fare plus add money to your onboard account) except my future booking. Future booking can't be paid with onboard account so I bring an extra gift card to cover that. You can use gift cards in the gift shops on the ship, but not at Castaway Cay. But you can apply gift cards to your onboard account at guest services and anything you buy at CC is charged to your onboard account (only option).

Yeah, I am having trouble also buying eBay from Target. It's been a problem all week. Definitely has me concerned the churning game may be ending.

Are you attempting to purchase them using your Redcard or gift cards or some other method of payment.

When I first attempted to make the purchase yesterday, my Redcard discount didn't show up, even if I had Redcard as the method of payment. Finally, I was able to get the discount to show up, and paid with gc's.

I play the gift card game in its beginning form--I get gift cards on Raise, when Target has discounts (like last week's 10% off), and I buy them with Swagbucks or Ebates money, etc. Like a pp said, if you have plenty of time to plan and you like the "game", go for it. I don't have the time/patience to wade into it all the way (but have TONS of respect for those who can do it...WOW! I stay impressed.), but I've still used a lot of tips from here to save money. Pick your pace, and enjoy your savings!

I've been using the MyPoints portal when shopping at Target and it's been giving me the points back on purchases of gift cards. No ruler purchases necessary.

Me too and at 1.4% I figure this is a safe bet. I then wait until I've earned another Target card and then buy another Disney gift card :)

Our trip is in just over 4 weeks. The room/memory maker are paid for already. Just working on Disney GCs for food/other purchases now. I currently have $1200 in Target GCs purchased during the 10% off sale. Was thinking of just flipping them directly into Disney GCs, but I now I'm really considering trying Ebay to churn before that, which I have never done before. I just signed up on ebay's site for the ebay bucks program. Was thinking of waiting a few days just to see if I might get notice of extra ebay bucks to order Target GCs. My only concern is the time frame. I guess I'm a little worried about having to wait for the physical cards to come in from GCM, then ordering and waiting for the Disney GCS from Target. What do you all think?? Maybe I'm just getting a little too "into" the savings so it's hard for me to call it quits. I know once I order the Disney GCs from Target it's all done. LOL

I have tried purchasing with 100% gift cards and also purchasing to where some goes on my Redcard. I am having no trouble getting my Redcard discount to show up. It is always there and the order goes through. But then about 12 hours later I get a cancellation.

I'll be honest with you - my cutoff for churning on ebay would probably be 4 weeks. If you buy on ebay today and buy GCM you are probably looking at a minimum of 1 week to receive the physical gift card. Then you have to turn around and buy the Disney gift card so add another week for that. That's just too close for me if something goes wrong. Plus, the savings of churning them one time on ebay wouldn't be worth it to me for the stress of worrying that the cards would be there and activated in time for my trip. A lot of the churning comes from ebay bucks and ebates. If you don't make a purchase by 12/31 then those won't even be paid out until April or later which won't benefit you on your current trip.

Thanks for the response. That's pretty much what I figured. I guess I was just hoping there might be some way to quickly add a little more to our savings on this trip. We just decided a little over 3 months ago that we were going to take this trip (which is our very first), so I haven't been at this long. So far, only calculating the total spent on the Disney GCs I've already got, we've saved almost 35%, so I'm thrilled. I know that will go down once I enter the numbers on what I spent for this last round of cards, since the discount is about 15% on those. I've learned a ton from this thread and cannot wait to plan my next trip. My husband keeps saying we won't be able to go again for several years, but I think I'll be able to prove him wrong using the savings techniques I've learned here. I'm a couponer, so investing time and effort to save some money is a no brainer for me. This just adds to my fun!!

Just picked up some 8% off Target cards on Raise. Not bad combined with my cash back card and the Red Card discount when I immediately used them to buy Disney cards. I keep getting alerts for 10%+ off on Raise, but they are always gone by the time I check. Anyone expect discounts to go higher (for more than a minute) than that 8% I caught? I've heard the after-holiday time can be good, but not sure if I should hold out for double digits?

WOW! Raise is at 7% and that is usually the lowest one of the three that I use!

When Target took away the ability for me to combine the gift cards myself, I became very hesitant to continue to use Raise, etc for purchases. I am afraid of the original owner wiping out the balance before I get a chance to use it or combine it to a card I already have. So, would it be "safe" to purchase a $100 card from Raise and then immediately use it to by my own $100 Target card from Target.com? I assume that would work just fine and with the ability to have the card sent electronically, it really wouldn't take any extra time. On top of that, I can continue to stock up on my rulers and earn an extra $2 from eBates.

8% is pretty good, especially since they've been below 3% for a couple months! I did get a small $25.90 for 24.00 card at 8% off last night. I figure even the little ones count, lol. I'm seeing 7% on $1000 and $2000(too high for me, lol), at the moment, but I'm gonna be keeping an eye on it tonight as I'm reading the forums here on WDW and DL!

Dugette, how do you get alerts for cards over 10% off?

So, kool_kat, lsay I make some purchases in ebay in the next month, when could I expect the EBay bucks? When and how often do they pay out? We have a first time trip to DL in May, and then our regular trip in Nov, so if I miss something for May, well, still building my gc's all the time, lol. Starting over after our last trip a couple weeks ago!

I do it all the time!

Okay, so I just noticed that Ebay has Ebay egift cards at 5% off, so $95 and ships to email. The math in all this is escaping me thru all this, so I'm wondering, with $600 in ebay cards I can use, would it be worth while to buy those ebay cards with my ebay cards? Is that allowed? I'd appreciate any input on this from those who are skilled at this, lol!

eBay offers $100 eBay gift cards for $95 on a rather regular basis. Normally, there is a limit of one per person, and I expect that's the same for this deal.

The real benefit of the deal is that use eBay gift cards to purchase it. Basically, you can continually "roll" the same eBay gift card, accumulating $5 in eBay gift cards plus cash back from your cash back website every time they offer the deal (but only one time per deal).

Oh okay, having not done the Ebay side of this wheeling and dealing before, I didn't realize that, lol. I did look to see if it was limited and didn't see a limit, so I'll have to check that out and see. I guess if it's limited to one, I can still try it to see how it goes, lol. Okay, so I just went to ebay again while writing this and not finding where there is a limit, not sure where to look, but have been looking all over the page where I'd buy the egift card. Hmm...

So where are the $5 ebay gc's you have left over then?

I'm sorry for so many dumb questions, just don't wanna mess up if I'm gonna try to do this, lol! I appreciate all help from fellow Disser's! :goodvibes

Oops, one more question! So, when checking ebay to see how much I may have in Ebay bucks, where would I look to find this info? Again, TY to all!
