Yeah I plan to try another store tomorrow. I think one thing that really annoyed me was the girl at the register rings me out for 1000$ worth and then decides to call a supervisor over. If you weren't going to allow it why waste my time and the customers behind me.
I'd be pretty upset too. If they're going to limit you, they should do so before they waste everyone's time (and it should be a reasonable limit). I totally understand them not wanting a single person to buy out the store, but it's not like the cashier couldn't have realized that before she scanned in over 40 gift cards. It seems like a lot of people have had really good experiences with Target though, so I'd just let this one roll off your shoulders and forget it.

It really frustrates me how differently the Target stores operate.
. I it was $200 worth of Disney cards all charged to my Red card but as another poster commented they are technically dividing the FREE gift cards among the ones purchased and not deducting the 5% from them. In my example it was 8 x 2.50 = $20.00 and therefore the 5% on the $20 is $1 and I paid that and was charged $191 not $190.
