I basically did this but used a target gift card bought at Kroger. It seems like it pays to be patient with some of these deals but it's very unpredictable.

FYI The Ebay cards from Target take up to 4 hours to be activated and the two times I've ordered they've taken almost that long.

Disney newbie here planning my very first trip with hubby and our 3 year old son. Trying to stretch my bucks as much as I can. This board has been so helpful, so I'd like to thank all of you! Purchased my first 2 Target gift cards on Raise today to turn into Disney gift cards. Since I'm a complete nerd, I am trying to work up a spreadsheet to track all these card purchases so I can monitor each one and have good numbers on how much I'm actually saving. I'm also wanting to be able to show hubby in black and white exactly what I've saved when it's all said and done. I've seen a few folks here mention they keep spreadsheets for this also. Would anyone mind sharing theirs (blank of course) to help me out. Everything I'm coming up with just doesn't seem to give me the results I'm actually trying to get. Figured if I could sneak a peek at someone else's it might help me figure it out.

Also, I got a bunch of points on the redperks app and am halfway to my first 5% off certificate by buying two $100 ebay gift cards. The app is in beta testing but I put in my old zip code in nc (27513) and was able to get the app.

I think I might have missed this earlier, but does the 5% redperks stack with the 5% for the redcard on the website?

How long did it take for Target to cancel your order? I received an order confirmation, but no shipping confirmation and the ebay e-cards haven't been delivered yet. It's been almost an hour since I placed the order. I hope it goes through!

The waiting drives me nuts too! Why does it take so long? Last time I missed out on $100 gift cards for $95 plus free shipping because it took a full four hours to activate.

I placed my order for 2 $100 ebay GCs on Target at 4:55 PM and the ecards were delivered at 5:40. I had my Target GCs order confirmation email from ebay at 6:37 PM. All things considered, it didn't take anywhere near as long as it did the first time that I did a Target/ebay/Target deal.

The gift cards were delivered in less than an hour. But it took > 3 hours for them to be activated for me. I was checking routinely because I didn't know when/if giftcardmall would
be sold out.

Even when I buy ebay gift cards at Kroger it takes about four hours for them to be activated.

I got ebay cards at Lowes, and they also took about 4 hours to activate, so I suspect this is an ebay issue, not a Target issue.

The e-mail that I got from ebay about the "Mystery Monday deal" includes the Gift Card Mall $100 Target card for $94 and says it is just for today. YMMV.

DVA related but you all have the best information. I requested to buy a gift card with the balance I have in my DVA(~$850 worth) as well as made a request for my 2 $20 gift cards since I've spent just over $2,000. My question is, I'd like to make a deposit on a cruise for next year and put more money into my DVA to pay for the deposit. I'd like to do this ASAP. I have the gift cards to put into my account but will it affect my gift card that I requested from the balance? My WDW trip is in 45 days so I don't want to mess with that $850 gift card since it's for food.

I just have a simple sheet that tallies everything I've put in as debits, plus my running balance of Ebay bucks and other perks as credits, and I can see how much I've made.

It was more complicated at one point, but with perks coming in from all angles, it's hard to track the exact value from an individual transaction... if you try to, you'll be left w bits and pieces all over that get used on the next transaction. So what I do is more of a 4-walls calculation. That is, I track when I spend money to put money into my pool of Giftcard Goodness, and then I track when I cash out, by buying something I actually need from Target or Ebay (like Disney Gift Cards or Christmas Presents).
