Disney Gift Card Deals

I am so thankful for this thread! I was just going to head to Sams to buy giftcards there and thought I should double check on here first to make sure there isn't a better deal. I was a little nervous about using Raise but my transactions (except for 1 that is still pending) have gone through just fine and it was also very easy to sign up for the Target Redcard and they even give you a card number to use online right away. I am so excited that I saved 10.6% on my giftcards. I also am excited that I can save money on giftcards to other stores and restuarants using Raise. I will probably be shopping at Target more often now that I know I can save 5% using the Redcard. I always ignored the information about the Redcard because I assumed it was a credit card and I don't want another one of those. I think the debit card is a really nice option for a lot of people. :flower1::daisy::daisy:

I have used both and have not had issues with either. Some will say they've had problems with both sites, but that's just like any other company. No one gets 100% great reviews. I normally just choose which site has the deeper discount when I'm ready to buy.

Just keep in mind when ordering to make sure at least 1 penny of your online order is paid for by your Red Card and it is listed as your "default payment" or you will not be able to stack the discounts. For instance, I normally buy $150 at a time so I just purchased a $142.47 card from Raise (remember that the total you're spending on Target.com is 5% less so in this example I only need $142.50 NOT $150). I pay $142.47 with the gift card, and then $0.03 with my Red Card to get the stacked discount.
Thanx for the great info!

Is it possible to link the balance on a gift card to a magic band so I don't have to carry the card around with me to the parks and dig it out every time I pay for something? Or is there any other way to do it?

There's no way to link it to the magic band. But, our plan is to charge stuff with the band in the parks and pay off our balance at the front desk every few days with the gift cards.

This is my plan as well and seems to be the easiest way to pay for everything with discount gift cards. Just make sure to pay off your balance every morning or every other morning. I have read that once your balance hits a certain amount they will charge your card on file before the end of your stay. I have also read to make your final payment the night before check out because they will charge you in the morning to settle your bill probably before you wake up.

If they should charge your card before you get a chance to pay with the gift cards you can have them credit your card and apply the charges to the gift cards after the fact. I forgot last year to go back and do the remaining balance the last night. I didn't have time in the morning so I called when I got home and they were happy to move the charges for me.

Hi KelliLee! I'm wondering how to find the Navy Fed deal. We are members and I had no idea this was even an option!
Hmmm. I am showing a cost at twice that. It is more economical for me to use the points 100 for 1$ against my flight.

I received an e-mail alert regarding my "Rewards" with the offer.
Then I went on-line to the Rewards Center and it was there . . . I am not sure what to say? :guilty:

Has anyone found a better way to scratch off and read the security code on the back of the Disney gift card? Not a big deal, but after doing 20 cards with another 60 to go I'd like to hear if anyone has found a good method. I start with a coin, and then use a big eraser to clean it up well enough to read. Tried setting up a bar code reader so I could cut and paste from an excel sheet, but that only gave me the card no.

The silver stuff that covers the security code is actually on a sticker. You can remove the sticker by using another gift card or old credit card to scrape the sticker off. Just start from one end of the strip (long ways), and push your card at a 45 degree angle and you will start to see the sticker roll up off the card. I learned this from Best Buy employees. Its a neat trick and no mess to clean up

But it does leave a sticky film behind that tends to make the GCs stick together. I put a small piece of Scotch tape over the sticky part to keep that from happening.

That's a good idea. I never thought about that. Thanks for the tip!

I tried using Top Cash Back for my purchases through Raise this past month and none of them have recorded. They have quite the process to track the transactions. Since they only give 1% back for Target GC's on Raise (according to the disclaimer), I think I will pass. Anyone else having issues using Top Cash Back? I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I have successfully used ebates for years and it is the same process. Plus, it makes me uneasy after reading the reviews online about them.

No problems at all here. I have purchased $1000 in Target gift cards from cardpool through topcashback and around $300 from Raise and my cashback has always been reported within a day.

Have you filed a missing cashback claim yet?

I sent in 1 of 6 but my email confirmation will not copy and paste as required so I am sure it will be denied. It is not worth it if I have to do this every time. And they won't research them unless it has been 30 days.

Just a note, I went through Topcashback for 2 Cardpool purchases and neither of them have showed up (it's been a month or so). Topcashback won't accept missing cashback claims for Cardpool orders, either. Hope Raise works better for me, I haven't used them yet.

When I was using Cardpool though Topcashback I'd get most of those to show, however not a single Raise purchase through them credited or posted which is very odd. I figured it wasn't worth the fight and since they have a cap on them anyway I figured I'd potentially get there sooner or later.

It sounds like they are all hit or miss. I guess I should count my blessings that eBates works on my Target gift cards. According to the rules, it shouldn't.

davper - I did go back and check my transaction with NFCU. It was indeed 5,000 points for a $50.00 Disney GC. "SALE points price" was 4,500 points.
