Disney Gift Card Deals

I feel kind of dumb even posting this in this thread. You ladies are amazing with your elaborate churns! I just wanted to share that my husband and I both use the mPoints app (along with some related ones) to check in places and earn gift cards. With both of us doing it we earn gift cards pretty quickly. I've always just done the easy thing and cashed them in for Walmart cards to use for discounted Disney GC's at Sam's Club. It's not much, but got us some extra spending cash for vacation without much additional effort. Thanks for sharing this wealth of info with the churn!

Pleas don't "feel dumb" posting - we love to hear success stories!!!:cool1:

BJ's is offering $100 Disney giftcards for $94.99. Planning on buying 13 of them. Shipping is about $7. so it winds up being a 4.5% discount. $1,242 for $1,300... better than nothing!

I wanted to use it in conjunction with BJ's link with couponcabin to get $38 back, but it looks like you can't use the purchase for giftcards. Any other suggestions of a way to stretch the deal a little bit?

Should I jump on this 4.5% off deal or hold off for something better?

I really hate these new eBucks restrictions with gift cards. Our trip is late October and I"ll need to be very careful not to churn too close to that trip now. I could potentially have funds in eBay gift cards that I can't convert because of the 60 day rule. Ugh!!

Same here! I cashed in on about 1/2 of my churning fund yesterday because I was worried about not having enough time to convert to Disney. I was hoping for 2 more good months of churning before our late Oct. trip and now I'm maxed out on both accounts. I'm thinking about keeping some of my current ebay GCs for future churning at a slower pace and investing some OOP over the next 2 months to take advantage of at least 1-2 more 5X promos before the trip and hope to earn some more eBucks.

Thank you for posting this, I wasn't even thinking about that.. I had already cashed everything out with my bucks. I just bought another $800 ebay gift cards from Kroger and used with 5x. I have been debating putting back into eBay but need to pay for trip in Oct and will have 60 day issues. I think I will just put into Disney now.

For anyone that might know....how is this even legal? To say that we have gift cards that we've invested money in, but can't spend them?? I mean, okay, say we won't get eBucks on anything over the 2k/2 month limit or even say you can't buy more gift cards when you're at the limit. But to say you can't use them at all, seems to be questionable.

We can use them, just not on gift cards? Maybe that's how?

Yes, you can. You can also go into a Target store (brick & mortar) and buy whatever gift cards they have in stock.

Doing it online is easier-ish, but if you're trying to run through $10,000 in gift cards in a few weeks or months, you might get flagged as a "reseller" by the mysterious review panel at Target .com and be forever banned from online purchases there. Nobody knows what the magic threshold is, but a few big purchasers have managed to get banned from Target's online store. Buying in-store will not trigger the ban, although some store managers get a little weird about it if you buy a few thousand at a time.

If you have a Chase Freedom card and a wholesale club membership, you can do even better than the 5% at Target, since right now, Chase Freedom is offering 5% cash back for wholesale club purchases and both BJ's and Sam's Club sell Disney gift cards at a 4-5% discount to begin with.

Thank you very very much for your reply! The only reason I wanted to do online is because my Target rarely has $100 gift cards. Our Target is used to people doing this - I think the secret is out in my town lol. But that said, I'm going to break my several thousand up over the next few weeks.

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Maybe I'm not understanding it correctly, but I don't think you can use eBay gc's on anything after you've reached their 2k/2 month limit.

I think you're right: "During the first 90 days after registering an eBay account, no more than a total of $1,000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed. For eBay accounts greater than 90 days old, no more than a total of $2,000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed over any 60-day period. Further, you may only redeem a maximum of eight Gift Cards in any single transaction (and fewer if you are redeeming Gift Cards in combination with other redemption codes, such as coupons or vouchers). Restrictions also apply to the purchase of eBay Gift Cards on ebay. com. See our Gift Card Policy for details."

Do you have a chase freedom card? Warehouse clubs are 5% back up to $1500 in spending this quarter.

Another data point: I went through PPDG yesterday to buy $300 in Best Buy cards. One verification and it went through right away. I had my codes delivered within 15 minutes. :thumbsup2

Pretty sure you can't use Shopkicks for in-store pickup. I usually go through Ebates when ordering online for in-store pickup; scan Shopkicks if shopping in store.

Another thing, paying for a GC with a GC for in-store pickup is YMMV. I've had orders go through fine and also orders that get cancelled very quickly. When it does get cancelled, the email says something about not being able to verify payment method. Adding an item for some small amount to a CC seems to do the trick, but this might not be ideal if you want to avoid OOP spending.

I believe that your order of gift cards from Best Buy online will get cancelled (even if purchasing to pick up in store), at least from what I've been seeing with other people trying to do that. You can only get the Ebay or Disney gift cards IN STORE. And Yes, I've gotten shopkicks from my purchases of gift cards in store at Best Buy...when I buy them in store.

You are both right. My order was cancelled. I might try again adding a small item but I couldn't figure out anything I needed that was cheap. Maybe some printer paper. I will probably try in store.

eBay GCs are only sold in-store or require in-store pickup, but BB .com does offer shipping for $25 and $50 Disney GCs (max 5 cards per denomination per order).
I need to remember this when I'm ready to cash out for Disney.

My husband and I do mPlus Places too and cash out for WalMart>Sam's Club. That along with other apps and earnings methods (Ibotta, Swagbucks, Field Agent, Find & Save, SavingStar, etc...) have earned us a lot of free or inexpensive gift cards we use towards Disney. :bitelip:

(And some of the churners on here are men :goodvibes but you are right, they are all pretty amazing )

I completely agree with this sentiment. I have around $700 in eBay gift cards that I can't use. Seems like that should be illegal. They are tied to an account so I can't even use a new account or anything. I have heard around the Internet that some folks are trying to put a class action suit together. I'm all for that. I don't think this limit can last though. It's just so bad for business for eBay. I myself have gone from spending around $15K per month on eBay on various accounts to only spending $2-$3k per month (actually $0/month until 60 days passes). That's a lot of business to lose and I'm just one little customer. I refuse to buy anything with cash/credit card from theme while this is happening. I'm boycotting. Amazon is getting my business for home stuff, Lowe's for stuff around the farm and rental properties and eBay is getting nothing. I'll spend my $2k/60 but seeing as I'm at like $10K in the last few weeks, it's gonna be a while.

I got an email from topcashback today.... it said spend at least $10 and we'll give you $10 back at any of our stores..... never seen that one before, maybe it's b/c I rarely used them?

Do you know about how much you earn with mplus places? I do shopkick, but it's such a slow earner these days.

It has worked far better than I ever expected!
That's so awesome you're going to get your GF that AP for her bday! She will be surprised, lol, and be happy she helped out with the trade ins, that's for sure, lol! Very cool!

One question, don't you pretty much start to run out of titles to trade, pretty quickly? I had thought about keeping a $100 or so in GS cards to trade when good trades come up but then figured without a good deal like this BB $25 trade in deal for certain titles, it wouldn't be so lucrative maybe, plus I'll run out of titles probably pretty quickly I would think.

Again, I can't thank you enough for your posting this particular info, it was so very timely! I've had just enough time to get out and buy games and trade. I've traded $800 worth already, and back into ebay, and just got my last $200 spent on sale games tonight and will have my daughter and a friend trade those in. Daughter's fiance helped me finish up my first $800 as I met the limit on the titles. And, I have a small profit of $7.99 on my GS card but figured I better just save it, had no idea what to buy lol. They were out of the inexpensive games to trade from the BB list. It went great, not many questions along the way. When they thought I was only due $9 on a couple games, I showed them the BB ad and they said oops, and fixed it. So, again thank you for this! You definitely saved me from losing a good chunk of money! You're awesome!

And this method you've shared is very on topic in relation to getting Disney gc's! And, yes, for free! My ebucks went for Disney gc's bought from individual seller and from ebates(soon to receive those). So we get our two 9 day tickets and our MVMCP tickets totally for free, from our last ebucks distribution.

No problem!

Best Buy and Gamestop always run sales and promotions for trade ins some more often than not, and new titles always come out. Video Game churning is a very very long game, so you'll have to hold on to your funds for a while if you do choose so and wait for that right moment for the planets to align which is why I don't hold too much. Before I stumbled onto this thread, I actually just paid $ out of pocket for used games at GS. Then I traded those games for profit at BB, then bought Disney. The values usually drop the next day, so I'm surprised the values are still holding. It sucks the churning has been cut in a lot of outlets... I've cashed out 90% to Disney and only plan to keep a very small % for video game churning.

I guess I'm going to have to give my GF just the gift card with a picture attached to it or the gift voucher as we do not have the AP cards to purchase here in our Vegas Disney Stores. When I walked into the Disney Store and asked for it, the cast member was like "I wish my boyfriend would buy ME an AP!" haha.

I got an email from topcashback today.... it said spend at least $10 and we'll give you $10 back at any of our stores..... never seen that one before, maybe it's b/c I rarely used them?

I got this email on two of my TCB accounts and the third got a $5 back to email. I use one of them almost every day. That one got the $10. I'll probably use them all and net a nice little $25!

@JKalai : any profit in older game reselling? We probably have a hundred video games in our home, going back to GameCube, original Wii, Xbox, Xbox 360, Playstation, Playstation 2, 3 & 4 and probably others I'm forgetting.

The newer games (Playstation 4 ones) have the most value, so you could check values on Gamestop.com and Best Buy to see what they would offer. Depending on the Gamecube games and if you have rare ones or not, you might be able to sell them on ebay for profit but you'll have to pay the ebay fees :(

I tend to usually trade in the games I beat as it takes up too much space in my place.
