I finally got it to work after a lengthy call with PayPal. When you say tread lightly, what would you suggest? Switch to another store gc like Walgreens? (I was buying BB gc through PPDG.)

I would definitely try to find an alternative path, even if it is only for a back-up. By tread lightly I meant, don't make very large purchases, don't make purchases too often, and if they start asking you for verification multiple times, you might want to stop that sale and wait for a less hectic time. PPDG can be very arbitrary about who and what they scrutinize, and you don't want to do anything that makes you look like a reseller or a money launderer.

So my churning has taken a significant turn over the last few weeks thanks to all the changes and the fact that I bought a foreclosed house last week. Mainly, I've been looking at getting discounted Lowe's gift cards to help save on those projects. So far, between buying ebay gift cards at Target and then buying discount Lowe's gift cards at eBay and using a 10% mover's coupon, I've managed to save about 25% on all that spending.

Both my husband and I received the offer, but I am well over the 2k limit. I was able to buy $1,000 of gift cards on his account. I went with a $500 Lowe's GC, $300 in Walgreens and $200 in Best Buy. He's now tapped out until the 20th of September, but I should be up and running in about a week.

I have the situation where a method was discussed on here for months and I never used but now I do need to use it----so another vote for how vital this thread is even if the methods are not used all the time by everyone.

Anyway, to make sure I have it down correctly, can someone verify my steps for Best Buy
1. Ebates > PPDG on Ebay for Best Buy cards (earning 5X, paying with Ebay gift cards)
2. Pray that PPDG plays nice
3. Swagbucks > Best Buy dot com to purchase either Ebay or Disney for in-store pick up. Pay with digital gift cards
4. Pick up gift cards at Best Buy (have clerk scan Shopkick app)

Anything I'm missing or doing wrong?

I thought you can't get Shopkicks when you pick up in store, only when you buy in store. I could be wrong.

I think that's correct because shop kicks gets scanned before you pay but in store pickup would already be paid for.

Pretty sure you can't use Shopkicks for in-store pickup. I usually go through Ebates when ordering online for in-store pickup; scan Shopkicks if shopping in store.

Another thing, paying for a GC with a GC for in-store pickup is YMMV. I've had orders go through fine and also orders that get cancelled very quickly. When it does get cancelled, the email says something about not being able to verify payment method. Adding an item for some small amount to a CC seems to do the trick, but this might not be ideal if you want to avoid OOP spending.

You don't have to read 1,000 pages just read the last 100. The best advice is to read, read and read even the summaries for beginners leave out too much important information.

You have to read a reasonable amount because it works differently for everyone and changes constantly. It also is dependent on your time frame, risk tolerance, etc.

Unfortunately the easy churning that was once done through Target is now gone, so you'll have to go either through Walgreens which is YMMV or Best Buy which is a hit or miss.

the truth is that things work differently for everyone. Some folks have no Kmart near them, some have 2. Some have lots of reasons to shop in Gamestop, some people feel like they are in a foreign country. Some people have an easy time getting Best Buy cards, some have had their Paypal accounts closed in the process. And whatever works today may not work tomorrow.

The main thrust of this thread is to try to find ways to use rebates and coupons to increase our cash flow, and use that extra bonus to buy more gift cards, and eventually get Disney gift cards. Some people only use Target gift cards, to buy Disney gift cards, and others go elsewhere. Everything is on a "Your Mileage May Vary" basis, and that is particularly true for the people who buy gift cards and earn points for gasoline.

Some people use Swagbucks, some Shop My Way, MyPoints, M+, and almost everyone uses ebates and most try to get ebay bucks. And there are more programs I didn't include.

Honestly , by going back 100 pages, you are not wasting your time, because only you know which ways will work for you.

No method is "safe". Some people have problems with PPDG and some people don't. You just have to try it to see if it works for you.

I'm having problems with PPDG right now. In fact I'm planning to take an $88 hit and just accept it as a "stupid tax". If you can pay with PayPal and not use any gift cards in any part of the transaction you might be ok. Otherwise I wouldn't risk it.

I was one of the people who went thru PPDG to buy BB yesterday. I was just thrilled that it went through! I have two PayPal accounts so I'm using the one that I wouldn't cry over if it was closed. If I can churn my BB GC's into eBay in the store today then I may try it again for more eBucks.

I bought $400 in BB GCs yesterday using an eBay GC. I've only had to verify my info once in a previous transaction and it went very smoothly. I use my PayPal account a LOT for non-eBay purchases - I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but maybe it does...
