I really want to start churning but I can't wrap my head around some of this. It's too bad the thread is so long - I can't sit here and read 1000+ pages as it would take forever. Anyone have any tips for a very very new beginner?

Like others have said, it varies so much from person to person. I would not even begin to know what tips to give you and I have been churning since Oct 2015. But so much has changed in the last few months. What worked two weeks ago (Gamestop) is not working anymore, and what worked last week (Walgreens) seems to maybe becoming even more YMMV. The churning process has become far more work, much less lucrative and not nearly as fun as it used to be. I have bought nothing on this latest ebay promo b/c I am just not sure I want to deal with the headache of it all.

Well, dang....I got home from work and unfortunately, my $200 in Walgreen's GC's did not come in today's mail. So now I have a decision to make...

Do I take my $210 eBay gift card and go through PPDG for a $200 BB card? I bought $100 yesterday from PPDG so I am a little skeptical about running $300 through in 2 days....

...or....

...Do I use the $210 and buy another $200 from Walgreen's and hope and pray that I can turn $400 in Walgreen's into either eBay, Disney or Best Buy??

I did my first purchase at GameStop to sell at Best Buy. The only used game in my area was the Tom Clancy game for $21. I made a couple bucks but at least I'm working through my $100 in GS gift cards. I just noticed that the Samaurai Warriors was just $20 new! It seems to be a shame to open the package to sell it for $25. I looked at selling it new on eBay but I would have to sell it for $32 to make the same. Someone will get a couple brand new games for the used price I guess. Off to buy 3 and I'll have another $10-$20 to spend on a game next week.

The PPDG gods are smiling on me today-just got 2 orders to go through back to back. 1 for $200 and 1 for $50. I might try one more tonight after I verify what I have left on my other eBay gift cards. Can't hurt...

That's just a limit on using eBay gc to make purchases.

I have the situation where a method was discussed on here for months and I never used but now I do need to use it----so another vote for how vital this thread is even if the methods are not used all the time by everyone.

Anyway, to make sure I have it down correctly, can someone verify my steps for Best Buy
1. Ebates > PPDG on Ebay for Best Buy cards (earning 5X, paying with Ebay gift cards)
2. Pray that PPDG plays nice
3. Swagbucks > Best Buy dot com to purchase either Ebay or Disney for in-store pick up. Pay with digital gift cards
4. Pick up gift cards at Best Buy (have clerk scan Shopkick app)

Anything I'm missing or doing wrong?

I believe that your order of gift cards from Best Buy online will get cancelled (even if purchasing to pick up in store), at least from what I've been seeing with other people trying to do that. You can only get the Ebay or Disney gift cards IN STORE. And Yes, I've gotten shopkicks from my purchases of gift cards in store at Best Buy...when I buy them in store.

Guess I'll stop trying to make PPDG purchases altogether. I can't get my paypal to log in with ebay at all after an attempt, but I can make purchases elsewhere, so I don't believe my paypal is limited. Annoying, especially since I was using my credit card anyway.

I'm having PayPal problems tonight too. What it amounts to is that I'm getting $400 in Walgreens gcs but paying $488. $400 from an eBay gift card plus they took $88 from my Paypal acct. how does that even make sense??? I'm not past my gc limit yet. I don't think it's SVM's fault, I think it's PayPal.

I had to go back a few pages to find this because I had the same problem. Not over my $2000 limit. Not sure why I had to pay $88.33 on Discover cc for my $600 Walgreens gcs. My $250 Ebay gc would only take off $173.61.

You can only get the Ebay or Disney gift cards IN STORE.

eBay GCs are only sold in-store or require in-store pickup, but BB .com does offer shipping for $25 and $50 Disney GCs (max 5 cards per denomination per order).

You and me both. I tried using my checking and CC for BB purchases and PP would not process the payment (error or oops messages). I called in and got a very nice PP person who started out super optimistic, 45 minutes later we were both ready to start drinking. After the BB failure I tried to buy a meat slicer that I have been wanting and no matter what I did I could not get the ebucks to show. I finally said screw it and went to bed. I would close out my PP account but kind of need it for the occasional time I rent some of my DVC points through David's Vacation Club Rental. I'm going to see my DD in MI this weekend so hoping for a Kroger's deal, I don't really understand how it works but it has to be more productive than ebay/PP.

Hi All, just a super quick question: about a year ago I did what seems to be an old school method: used Raise.com to buy Target gift cards and then the target red debit card and target gift cards to buy Disney cards. It looks like that strategy has gotten riskier.

So my question: Can one still use the Target red debit card to purchase $100 Disney Gift cards online? To at least get the 5% off?

This time around I have a low risk tolerance, a looming deadline to pay off my cruise and very little free time to do this. Thank you for your time in answering!

Yes, you can. You can also go into a Target store (brick & mortar) and buy whatever gift cards they have in stock.

Doing it online is easier-ish, but if you're trying to run through $10,000 in gift cards in a few weeks or months, you might get flagged as a "reseller" by the mysterious review panel at Target .com and be forever banned from online purchases there. Nobody knows what the magic threshold is, but a few big purchasers have managed to get banned from Target's online store. Buying in-store will not trigger the ban, although some store managers get a little weird about it if you buy a few thousand at a time.

If you have a Chase Freedom card and a wholesale club membership, you can do even better than the 5% at Target, since right now, Chase Freedom is offering 5% cash back for wholesale club purchases and both BJ's and Sam's Club sell Disney gift cards at a 4-5% discount to begin with.

I'm glad the Gamestop > BB credit moving is working great for everybody. Looks like the trade in values are holding up!

Don't forget that you can use your power up points you are earning towards purchasing pre-owned games and then churning those games back to BB. You also earn My Best Buy points for games trade ins towards those $5 Best Buy certificates. My girlfriend is sick of me asking her to trade in video games at BB for me @Minniekins, haha but she has no idea I'm going to use all these funds for her birthday AP. I plan on telling her "I told you it was worth it!" once I reveal what all this was for

I don't see how this thread is going off topic. Gamestop/Best Buy churning/flipping is directly related to discounted... in my opinion, FREE Disney gift cards.......

One question, don't you pretty much start to run out of titles to trade, pretty quickly? I had thought about keeping a $100 or so in GS cards to trade when good trades come up but then figured without a good deal like this BB $25 trade in deal for certain titles, it wouldn't be so lucrative maybe, plus I'll run out of titles probably pretty quickly I would think.

I work at a computer all day here in my office, so I'll occasionally check online weekly ads when I'm not busy. I saw the guaranteed $25 list of games I posted a couple pages back, and checked to see what they were selling for at Gamestop, which was less. A combination of high trade in vales at BB, and sales on the same games at Gamestop make this process work. Since the "up to $25 on select titles" was on the weekly flyer, the values would probably hold until Saturday. The sales on the preowned games at Gamestop could possibly end on Wednesday (when they release ads/change sales) which would kill the churn. ...

Again, I can't thank you enough for your posting this particular info, it was so very timely! I've had just enough time to get out and buy games and trade. I've traded $800 worth already, and back into ebay, and just got my last $200 spent on sale games tonight and will have my daughter and a friend trade those in. Daughter's fiance helped me finish up my first $800 as I met the limit on the titles. And, I have a small profit of $7.99 on my GS card but figured I better just save it, had no idea what to buy lol. They were out of the inexpensive games to trade from the BB list. It went great, not many questions along the way. When they thought I was only due $9 on a couple games, I showed them the BB ad and they said oops, and fixed it. So, again thank you for this! You definitely saved me from losing a good chunk of money! You're awesome!

And this method you've shared is very on topic in relation to getting Disney gc's! And, yes, for free! My ebucks went for Disney gc's bought from individual seller and from ebates(soon to receive those). So we get our two 9 day tickets and our MVMCP tickets totally for free, from our last ebucks distribution.

So, we did get the 5x promo. Yay! Sort of, lol. I thought they were counting the 60 days from the 4x promo they offered back on July 20 & 21. At that time I put thru $1000 on each of our accounts and figured I was starting my 60 days. I figured I could do another for this promo but it declined me doing any using!
I was so disappointed! But I did figure out a way to get some thru, by using the cash I was putting aside for the trip in Nov, but wasn't planning on churning it at all as I have enough funds for churning. But thinking about it, I was like well, I'll have to do raise then target to get some discount, then I was like, wait, I might as well do one churn for ebucks, I'd be turning them into Disney in the end anyway. I wanted to try BB first and it seemed it was going to let me buy but I forgot to transfer the money to the bank acct on PP, so it was a little short so it declined at that point. argh! Wouldn't then take credit or anything. So then I did Wgc's and that went thru fine. I'll turn those into Disney gc's, whereas I'd likely go into Wgc's or BB, if I was using our regular churning ebay gc's. Anyway, at least I got some ebucks from this good promo, but hurts that it in past promos it would have been a good amount as I'd gotten my churning funds up pretty good using the target path along with cash over the first months of the year.
Oh well, some is better than none! And I got my GS money back without a loss so gotta be thankful for that!

Read. Read this thread as pp's have said but also do a google search on various key words for churning. Read it all and understand your full risk before committing a dime. I read for a month and a half before I even thought about getting an eBay gc from Target. So while not quite "forever" putting time in the upfront has probably saved me costly mistakes. This is not something you should embark on without doing your full due diligence.

personally I started with target discounted gift cards bought on my Redcard for 5% off and have progressed to eBay/ebucks, and fuel rewards through Kroger, and Raise - three separate types of "churning" or ways to get discounted Disney cards based off of what rewards programs and stores I had available to me locally. A huge part of churning is figuring out what you have at your disposal - target? Fuel rewards at grocery store? Club warehouses? I would start as simple and small and look for info on that.

Once you get started and have a strategy I've found people answer specific questions to the process quickly and generously on here when it's not the generalized "how does it work."

So Here's how I understand the 60 day rule. On 7/15 eBay updated the terms to include the 2k/60 day rule. However, it apparently wasn't really being enforced. It appears that around 7/28, they began enforcing this rule, retroactively going back 60 days. So this is how you could be well over the 2k limit if you go back 60 days.

To figure out when you can spend again, you will just have to go back in your 60 day spending to where when that date drops off you would be under 1k.
So if you spent 3k on 6/15, 1k on 7/1 and 500 on 8/2, you could spend another 500 on approximately 8/14 and then another 1k on 8/29 (if I'm calculating my 60 days right). Does that make sense?
