Disney Gift Card Deals

Beware that NGC has been getting bad feedback for CC companys charging cash advance fees on gc purchases. I just bought a $250 Gamestop gc and put shipping charge on bank acct.

I had this issue with GiftCardMall once with an eBay purchase. I used the credit card that was linked in my PayPal account and it showed up as a cash advance on my credit card account. I got it reversed the same day it posted.

I don't think I understand here. Are you saying you bought a GameStop gift card and your credit card company added a cash advance fee under the guise of a shipping fee?
I didn't get charged a cash advance. Other buyers who bought through NGC got charged a cash advance when paying w/ cc.
I paid with gc and bank acct. I used my bank acct because, I think, Ebay changed their rules and I couldn't pay shipping fee with gc.

No promo for me, haven't spent a dime of my ebucks yet. I'm holding out til the end of the month to see if I get a promo.

I had spent all of the ebucks on my and dh's account and neither of us got the promo.

What area are you from? I'm in SW PA where it still worked last week and hoping it continues as long as possible. However I've had great luck through Sears/Kmart so I will probably start to put more in that direction.

Do you mind sharing which Sears/Kmart you've used? Haven't had any luck here in MD but make it into PA now and then and would be willing to stop by and try. Thanks!

Hmmmm....so in an attempt to avoid PPDG, I'm thinking I should take my $100 in Target cards and buy a $100 eBay card with them. Then, I will have a total of $200 in eBay cards that I can use to get $200 in Walgreen's from SVM. I'll have to pay the $4 in shipping but I will earn $16 in eBucks. My only fear is losing GC->GC ability at Walgreens and getting stuck with $400 in Walgreen's GC's. I feel much "safer" using BB gift cards, but I don't want too much going through PPDG. Decisionf, decisions...

...and it's all moot...

I just got home and checked my email and my eBay page and no offer for me:sad1:.

I've used the stores in Mt. Pleasant, Uniontown, and Belle Vernon, although the Uniontown store is closing in the next two weeks. All Kmart- our Sears only sell Sears gc.

Thanks very much for sharing.

Also to add another data point to the ebucks promo - still had ebucks left and did not get the invite this time while in the past I almost always get the promo offers.

Blech. I didn't get the promo and have $300 ebucks to spend. Don't know how I want to cash them out. Best Buy is an hour away, Gamestop doesn't carry any decent gift cards, and no Kmart. We do have one Walgreens. I might try that I guess. My issue is that I have never tried anything outside of Target so I don't want to get stuck with $300 giftcards to stores I don't go to if it doesn't work. I dislike anything that's "YMMV".
When did churning turn into such a headache?

On the other hand, I think the headache comes from trying to completely maximize the deals. This is what I have been telling myself: ebucks is "found" money. If I end up with Best Buy or Walgreens or whatever that I can't convert back to ebay, I can always get some value for the gift cards through a resale place like raise.

Spent all my ebucks with the 7/4 gamestop offer. I did get the promo, but I didn't plan to take advantage of it since I've cashed out what I had for our September trip last week.

I just cashed in my ebucks for Walgreens cards. Had to use some of it for postage, but at least I started earning ebucks again. I hope to get to a local Gamestop soon to see if they will accept my gcs for gcs. Churning will be slower, but hoping that I can still win the race by going slow and steady. Looking for other ways to generate ebucks as well - maybe shopping on ebay instead of Amazon and Zulily for my LO.

True. But for those of us who churned in the hayday a few months back where it was stinkin' easy to make some free vacation money this is really disappointing. I got spoiled . I mostly wanted to cash out in Disney because we have a trip in September. This chunk of ebay bucks was my last bit of churning money to convert.

I think I might just go with something like Burlington Coat Factory. DH has been complaining about needing new suit jackets for a while so I guess I will cash out our fun money for that. It's all a wash in the end, right? LOL.

Got the offer on my account, from which I had already redeemed all my eBucks. But not on my wife's account, which still has all her eBucks.

I don't know about this one. With the new limitations and closing loopholes, I'm really thinking of sticking to just 5x bonuses...

Well, it seems that to get the max ebucks, using ebay gift cards without putting out more cash, one would have to stick to the 5x bonuses, correct? I mean if you spend $1000 say, on this 4x promo, the best you'll get is $80 plus ebates(assuming that works as it has), so no opportunity to get the max $300 using ebay gift cards, right? But, OTOH, I'm thinking, if I don't do this this month at the 4x offer, and they don't offer a 5x promo in this month, then there are only 2 months left in the quarter with August and September, and I've missed what I could spend in July. Then you could only spend $1000 each of those months, $2000 in 60 days, right? So if you got a 5x offer in each of Aug and Sep, then the best you could do for this quarter is $200 ebucks when spending $1000 in ebay gift cards in each of Aug and Sep. That's correct, isn't it? I'm thinking I'd miss out on an opportunity to get closer to that $300 ebucks limit using ebay gcs in one quarter, if I skip this offer, as I kind of doubt a 5x offer coming next week in this July ebucks redemption month.
Looking for some help in figuring this math out, lol.
Also, with the 60 days limit, how would that work? So say I spend $1000 today, July 20th, then get lucky with a 5x promo say Aug 10th. That's $2000. When would that change then that I can spend another $1000? August 20th? I'm super tired but think I'm confusing myself on that timing, lol. Anyone have any insight or thoughts they can share? DD26 and I would each like to churn our $1000 in ebay gc's each month to each max out accounts if we can.

I'm expecting Walgreens to go fine as I tested it last week, buying a card in one Walgreens, and using it to buy ebay gc in another Walgreens, sliding the card myself to pay for my purchase. Think GS still works here, will have to check to be sure.

You would get more by waiting for 5x bonuses; however, there's no guarantee when or who will get them. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Think with me here LOL

Walgreen's sells Paypal GC. Would this be a way to extend the Ebay GC limit?
- Purchase Walgreen's on Ebay earning ebucks
- Purchase Paypal at WG (there is a 3.95 fee according to listing description so would need to earn enough ebucks to offset that)
- Load that GC to Paypal and repeat.

This is assuming that Paypal sees this GC as just increasing your PP balance and does not count it as part of the Ebay GC limit. Downside is the 3.95 fee. And, there is a limit of $500/day and $2000/mo

I was actually thinking about this last week as a possible way to avoid the PPDG issue, since it's not an ebay GC, maybe the purchase would go though easier.
