Thank you everyone for the kind words about my weightloss. I haven't yet reached my ultimate goal, I have about 40 or so more pounds to lose, but to give you an idea of how far I've come, here is a before pic of me about 4yrs ago and one of me 9 days ago acting silly from Universal Studios. Plus one more food pic I forgot to include.
Speaking of 40, that was the birthday I was celebrating, and the nicest gift I got was twice that day when people saw my button and knew it was my b-day, they thought I was turning 18! :woohoo:

First......CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss. You look AMAZING!!!!
Second of all..... There is no way you are 40! :goodvibes I thought you looked like you were 18 too :thumbsup2

Trist, I agree, there's no way you look 40. I would say about 20. You look beautiful!! Your pics are REALLY good. So close up and clear. Very good job. I like the comments too. It helps to see what people like and don't like about a dish. :cheer2:

Thank you all once again for all the nice comments and making me feel so welcome here. Don't know why I hadn't posted until now, but I had been coming by here regularly to look at all the great pics others have posted. I swear some of them look like they belong in a magazine they're so good! :)

Congrats!!! You look amazing! Any tips on losing weight?

Well I can only tell you what I find works for me, but I think it's a personal thing, that there isn't one method that applies to everyone. Probably one of the biggest things I did was cut out the soda. And I was a serious soda drinker, like 2-3 cans per meal. When I first started to change my eating habits, this time that is, that was the only thing I did. I still ate as I did before, I still didn't exercise, but just with doing that I dropped 12lbs in about one and half months. Then gradually I started changing my eating then I added in exercise. I think it really helped me to stay with it this time by not trying to change everything all at once and getting completely overwhelmed.

A couple of other things that I do now is to read labels on food, and count those calories and fat and sugar content. Especially all the little hidden ones that can really add up quickly. And I stress portion control. A while ago I was buying those Fiber one 90cal bars cause hey, they're only 90cal each right? Except that they tasted so good, that it was sometimes too tempting to eat more that one at a time, and then it's no longer 90 cals it's nearly 200. So since I couldn't trust myself, I just stopped buying them. If I ever do eat something like that now, unless I can buy a single serving of it, I won't buy it. It's just too much temptation for me if it's easily accessible in the house. And if I have to go out to get it, chances are I won't.
And even though I porked out on all types of sweets and stuff on my vacation, once I got back home, I went right back to my normal eating habits. That's one huge thing I do now, I reserve special treats like that for special occasions only. Like on Thanksgiving, I'll load up on turkey, stuffing, a slice or 2 of pie, but the very next day it's back to my low cal foods like veggies and fish, I rarely eat meat these days. If you're good 99% of the time, then yeah it's okay to be bad for that 1%

Honestly, I was GLAD to get back to my normal routine, the foods I ate at WDW were yummy but my poor system just can't handle so much of that stuff in such a short time anymore. On my next trip I won't over do it like I did this time. Least I'll try not to...:rolleyes1 Took me a couple of days to flush out my system and not feel so bloated and swollen from all the water I was retaining from the salty foods I ate. Luckily I feel back to normal now, and yesterday I was able to start back on my daily walking routine. Hopefully I'll be able to kick out those last 40lb I need to lose in the next couple of months.
Anyway, if you're trying to lose weight, no matter how many times you've tried and failed and tried and failed again. KEEP TRYING. Like I said this is something I've been struggling with my whole life, that it took me this long to figure it out was probably because if every other path you've chosen is the wrong one, then eventually you're only left with the right one. Sorry if I just did my impersonation of a fortune cookie there! :rotfl:
Anyway, good luck!:thumbsup2

Awesome tips, trist, thank you so much for sharing! You look great and I love the fact that you don't deprive yourself ridiculously! Yay!!!!! :thumbsup2
