We visited the Caramel shop in Germany at Epcot this trip. Oh it is a BAD BAD shop!!! ;)

Trying Y&Y for the first time, would love to see pictures!

Thinking of trying the Crispy Mahi Mahi or the Steak & Shrimp, any thoughts?

TIA

I really enjoyed the steak and shrimp...

...but the wonton dessert is easily in my top 3 desserts OF MY LIFE. I've had it twice, totally amazing both times.

OK, let's mix this up a bit. How about some recent food pics from our trip to the Disneyland Resort in California? It IS Disney....

These are from dinner at Catal Restaurant and Uva Bar located in their DTD. For my appetizer I chose the Roasted pork belly with poached quince, arugula, chestnut chips, quince vinegar, pressure cooked mustard seeds...

IMG_2250.jpg

DW chose the Warm piquillo peppers stuffed with goat cheese, toasted pinenuts, golden raisins, Pedro Ximenez vinegar...

DSC00064.jpg

Oh yeah.....at the beginning we had bread with some awesome balsamic vinegar...

DSC00070.jpg

For my main course I chose Braised Angus short ribs, Spanish beans, braised wild mushrooms, green onions, apple wood smoked bacon. Sorry for the crappy pic. I was still shaking from tasting that nasty goat cheese DW had!!

DSC00071.jpg

It was good but I would definitely choose another entree if I were to eat there again.

DW chose Diver scallops with roasted sweet potato, escarole, foie gras, Pedro Ximenez wine reduction. Hers was awesome except for the foie gras. Neither of us had tried that before.....we can now check that off the bucket list. :rolleyes1

We had reservations for Ariel's Grotto which comes with a preferred viewing section of the most awesome show Disney has EVER put on! You must see World of Color in Disney California Adventure!! Seriously, I think it's just a matter of time before they bring it to WDW.

You had a choice of two appetizer towers, and entree choice and a fixed dessert plate.

IMG_2286.jpg

We "chose" the app tower that included shellfish and clams and were brought the other one. :headache: We were at Disney so we just tried to make it magical (we should have verbally abused them like the "tiny castle" but were nice). Please excuse me snapping a pic while DW was sampling said tower...she would verbally abuse me like the "tiny castle" if she knew I was posting it...:rotfl:

IMG_2295.jpg
\

It consisted of manchego cheese, olives, peppers, grilled vegetables, cured meats, mozzarella cheese and salad

Oh yeah....and sourdough bread with 3 dipping sauces. We don't eat a lot of bread so I keep forgetting about that...

IMG_2289.jpg

IMG_2288.jpg

I chose the Ciopinno for my entree...

IMG_2297.jpg

While DW chose the Tri Tip...

IMG_2298.jpg

We then got the dessert platter. That film strip is made of white chocolate. I sorta felt bad eating the Disney characters but I got over it. We don't eat a lot of sweets but we did sample all of it. I'm sorry for eating your face Pocahontas. ;)

IMG_2306.jpg

And here is a teaser pic of WOC for good measure...

Lobster Nachos from the Cove Bar which is located outside at Ariel's Grotto. These were delicious!!

DSC00314.jpg

For dinner we ate at Tortilla Joes which is located in their DTD. We started off with Yuca Fries with habanero bbq sauce. AWESOME!

DSC00346.jpg

We also enjoyed complimentary chips and salsa with our Dos Equis brews...

DSC00344.jpg

We also split a chile rellenos...

DSC00347.jpg

For dinner (yeah...we ate a lot) we shared the Aciote Grilled Chicken - Grilled achiote citrus-glazed chicken breast, served with chipotle-mashed sweet potatoes, charro beans and roasted corn on the cob topped with chorizo. I had already split the chicken with DW before I realized I had forgotten the pic...doh

Before this trip I learned about this CS gem and planned to eat lunch there.
And was thrilled with the food! We did learn that we should split this meal, wow is that sandwich big and then the cupcake. Sugar OVERLOAD. but so good!!

DH got the turkey, I got the ham. Mine was better this time around.
DH got the chocolate/peanut butter cupcake and I the butterfinger....his was better. We actually switched... LOL

Steamed Whole Maine Lobster - Drawn Butter, Potato Gratin, and Asparagus
I warned my son...he did not listen. We have had much, much better tasting lobster. He said the tail was inedible.

disney22011033.jpg

Crab-crusted Mahi Mahi - Crushed Fingerling Potatoes, Haricots Verts, and Meyer Lemon Sauce FABULOUS I loved every bite!

disney22011030.jpg

Gelato Sampler - chocolate, raspberry, pistachio and cappuccino Very nice!

disney22011038.jpg

Almond-crusted Cheesecake - with lambert cherry sauce Best dessert I had the entire trip!!

disney22011039.jpg

This meal was $153 before tip, If I was not on the dinning plan ( we are dvc so we paid for it) I would have been disappointed. While my entree and dessert were very good, they were overpriced. The lobster was defiantly way overpriced. They kind of made a big deal when my son ordered it. I am originally from Cape Cod, so a teenager ordering lobster is not really an "experience of a lifetime" lol
