how were these two? we're eating there in april and i already know what i'm getting (the wood fired shrimp pasta dish) but i'm thinking DH will either get chicken parm or a flatbread.

I thought the chicken parm was very good and DH only gave the flatbread an okay. I tried it and agreed, good but not great.

they changed the banana creme brulee at Kona it no longer has the bananas on the top, it has a fried banana thingy on the top pass

Oh, that's too sad! It was sooo good the other way. (Sept. 2007) I did notice that now on the menu it's listed as Banana Chocolate Creme Brulee. I know ours didn't have any chocolate so that must be another change.

Would anyone happen to know if the "kona cone" is still available as a dessert option at Kona Cafe?

As others have said, yes it's available. But it isn't an option for a kid's dessert if you're on DDP. It is available for adults, or OOP for kids.

Here's a few from Hollywood Brown Derby, dinner, at MGM, oops, I mean Disney Hollywood Studios, Sept. 2006. DD's 7th Birthday trip.

Cobb Salad for Two with chopped greens, turkey breast, egg, bacon, tomatoes, bleu cheese, avocado, chives and Cobb dressing $14 This is a half serving-we split it. This is the main reason we go to HBD-My DM loves this salad.

Pan-Fried Black Grouper with aged balsamic roasted asparagus, sweet onion marmalade and citrus juices $28

Hijiki Crusted Ahi Tuna seared "rare" with sesame long beans, pickled diakon, soy and wasabi sauces $28
This was sooo gooood! Biggest piece of rare tuna I'd ever had. There's acutally 2 pieces there-see the one under the cracker?

Kid's Mac 'n Cheese (Not currently on menu?)

Double Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee $7

Grapefruit Cake - A Brown Derby Original! Light Layers of Yellow Cake with fresh Grapefruit Cream Cheese Icing $8

DD's special dessert. Not on menu. Chocolate mousse surrounded by dark chocolate, with sprinkles. She loved it!

That drink looks bigger than her stomach could possibly be!

Part of it is an optical illusion, but she does have a pretty small stomach. She was just 7 on that trip, and now that she's 8 1/2, she's a little bigger, I think she's up to 50# and 48" now. 48" being a very important height when it comes to riding all those rides! I don't mind her being a little smaller, as I can still carry her, if needed.

No flames from me either but I don't know that everyone has gone thru the old thread so they may feel that they are posting something new.

I did look thru the old thread, but I still like to see repeats. It reminds me of things I may have forgotten or shows how a dish may have changed.

I just wish I had more pics to contribute! I will in September!

I'm not trying to flame... and I don't want it to seem that way, but I kinda have an objection to that.

1) How would you enforce it anyways?
2) I like it when people post foods, regardless of where they come from or if I've already seen it before. This is because some people take better pics or from a different angle. And also, I hate having to go back through hundreds of pages to see a pic of something. And I noticed when I did go back through the other thread many of the pics are now gone.

You know... regardless of what is going to be done... people are going to post whatever they want. Are the mods going to ban them because of it?
And are are filling up just as many pages talking about stuff like this... and posts like this get outta hand. That is why I'm added what I have to say as an edit instead of adding a whole new post.
This makes me think of the people who have posted multi-pics on a Picture a Day thread. Generally no one says anything about it, and nothing happens to the person for doing it.
A lot of people just post stuff without reading anyways. I rarely read what others write on threads like this. When I read the post by MickeyNicki, I had no idea that there was any talk that this thread was for new stuff only.
The fact of the matter is the old stuff that isn't on the menu anymore shouldn't be pics that are posted on here anyways unless the person is just getting around to posting their pics. When I go to Disney World, I'm not taking pics of stuff that isn't served anymore. It will be stuff that at least was being served within the past few weeks of my trip. Most people have already posted their pics from their countless trips already. But according to this whole let's only post new stuff thing... I have to spend days to weeks depending on my schedule going through the old thread and this thread to find out if the food I have taken pics of is already posted. I understand there is a list of all the restaurants... but it still takes hours to go through a weeks worth of restaurants.
This is called "Food Porn" am I wrong? To me that means to get as much as you can. I have seen posts were people are like MORE FOOD PICS MORE FOOD PICS... And I know there have been weeks where no one has posted pics on the other thread. Do you know how long it took to fill up the other thread? I think they started in in 2005. I don't know what the new limitations are on these boards anymore.. but for the thread to take about 2.5 years to fill up... that doesn't seem like it was filling up fast. MHO

Well the reasons I think just new stuff should be added is:

1. We will fill up this thread quickly with old stuff...

2. The old thread is mentioned in the first post so if you need to search for something special you can visit that thread (there is even an index on the last page!)

3. Lots of old food you cannot get anymore and that makes me want to order it even more and I cannot so I get frustrated!

Dont want to upset anyone....just my thought, and ask my DH, I have been known to have dumb thoughts ...
